3's or lower all round in what was possibly all in all the worst performance I've seen at home for many years.

Chiriches was an absolute liability and playing next to Kaboul that is quite an honour. For the love of god please play Vertonghen and Fazio in PL now.

Capoue. Looked like Huddlestone without the passing ability today. So so much hype on back of a pre season tour and a game against on the day laughable opposition (QPR). I'm waiting to see why I'm told he's one of first names of teamsheet.

Eriksen. Had concerns all summer over Eriksen and how he's gonna work in a Poch team. Think overall he's had an extremely poor start to season considering his talent and standing. He's supposed to be our star, as it stands I wouldn't be too averse to him being dropped. He's been anonymous numerous times before but even his set piece delivery was shocking.

Dembele. Back to the AVB version today. So so slow on the ball, back to wanting to play at his tempo which has major drawbacks to team. He could be one of best CMs in Europe, beyond frustrating his unending inconsistency.

Lamela. As much as I rate him you can't say he's looked like a 30m player yet. His talent is there clearly problem is he's simply trying far too hard. Every time he gets ball it seems like he's having a fit trying to show how good he is. So many times today he took on a man when should have shifted the ball quickly. Tactics don't help. Considering he's possibly only guy who can beat a man and actually do something how many times is he close to danger zone? I don't like him where he is, I want him far higher up pitch.

Adebayor. Worried, very worried. The whole vice captain thing. I've tried but I can't shake from my head the whole he doesn't care once he's comfortable. Today was that Adebayor. Deserves to be dropped.

Lennon. One of the only players who has pace and can beat a man in squad. Just a shame in ten years he's not worked out what to do next. Should have replaced him with an actual useful pacey player in summer.

Formation. I've got serious concerns over this 4-2-3-1 formation. Not just as I'm not convinced the players we have fit it. It's so back foot. Not even in a good way today, considering we had two DMs the space Berahino had to rip our CBs apart was embarrassing at times. Supposed to have 3 number 10s interchanging is all well and good until think that two thirds time they're in position that aren't suited to them. And well we had no number tens today, Lamela running trying to beat three players, Chadli invisible and Eriksen not pressing or creating.

I hope today is a wake up call. In terms of this system working and Poch getting best out of talented squad we are months away from seeing fruition of his work. The so called second string got ripped to pieces following a draw vs Serbian champions, I hope today's offers a bit more balance. We are in the infant stages of a longer process for the whole squad.

I suppose everyone realises that soon we will have a completely different back line?
Davies-Verts-Fazio-Walker

I don't mean to be rude but is that some how going to help us play better and score goals

Because we only had 1 shot of target today and that was a scuff shot and I don't see how that back four is going to make a huge difference if we can't test keepers in open play and our set pieces are shit so I'm sure you don't mean their going to score from corners.

What I would do for a Danny Welbeck up top. Just someone who fucking moves around and makes runs and tries to get open. None of our attackers do that, it's just mind boggling. I don't think Welbeck is good technically or a good finisher or anything like that but my God, just fucking move around. Just no fire or anything in this team.

I hope in January we can just play Walker and Yedlin on the right. Give it a pace overload, both those players have great fire and determination too, which is the main thing. We need something like that. Would be defensively solid and a nightmare for opponents to try and set up against.

Davies has shown absolutely nothing to suggest he's going to be better than Rose, who has been one of our 3 best players so far this season.

I blame AVB

Clearly the software memory brain implant virus that he put into these world class, witty, creatively abundant, intelligent footballers was not completely removed by either the Sherwood's reversion to Redknapp version 2.1, or Pochettino's system reboot.

Poor old Adebayor, AVB's software implant has almost completely wiped his memory chip and the ability for hard drive to communicate with his peripheral hardware. How an earth could anyone fall out with this loveable trojan.

That fiendish Portugeezer with his new fangled methodology, his note pad, his spending time coaching and shit, brain frazzling all our galactico lights and ruining them for life.

We all know it's pointless really assessing a new regime after a handful of meaningful games but we can call it as we see it. What we are seeing is much of the same virus we saw under AVB (and Sherwood), and not because of AVB, and thats even with some of these guys being a year wiser.

Fuckwittedness is rife.

But fuckwittedness does not excuse everything. Pochettino made some odd decisions, starting thursday and continuing today. Kaboul and Chiriches for me aren't a good pairing. Why was Vertonghen played thursday ?

Dier is not a right back, and offers absolutely nothing going forward. And with the players we are playing, in games like today with teams set up like WBA were (and we knew they would) we desperately need full backs who can offer some width.

If you want to move the ball quickly, important against obdurate deep sitting opponents, why play Dembele in central midfield ? Bentaleb (or even Carroll if we'd kept him) moves the ball much quicker and with more purpose.

And how the fuck Adebayor is still being picked after his earlier lethargic performances is anyone's guess, but today was the worst performance I have ever seen from him. He was atrocious, looked utterly disinterested and when the ball came near him looked like he'd played his first ever game of football a few days ago. He almost seemed to deliberately not put his head on Eriksen's cross in the first half. He must be dropped, even if the others aren't the answer, he needs an almighty kick up up the arse.

Some poor selection choices were compounded by a pretty poor tactical application. The higher pressing, vital against teams like this, to catch them before set, was non existent. Part of the problem is that it needs to be instigated by the CF (Adebayor today) and he just wasn't interested in moving quicker than nonchalant amble.

There was very little coherence to anything anyone else did. Pressing, defending, moving or passing. It was one of those days where everything we did just looked disjointed, chaotic & careless.

Lloris set the tone, giving several really stupid balls out that put players under pressure, Chiriches with his ever present penchant for over playing was his brother in arms, but all of our defenders made hard work of simple tasks at times.

Worst of all, very poor movement was combined with abject carelessness with the ball all over the pitch. An absolutely catastrophic combination.

Just when you thought things couldn't get worse, Pochettino's subs disproved that theory. Leaving Adebayor on the pitch was poor tactical management. I would have swapped Ade for Soldado, Eriksen (who was having a poor game) for Bentaleb and pushed Dembele further forward where he could dribble at their defence instead of their midfield.

Only two players came out of this game with any credit, Capoue who was excellent first half, breaking things up and trying to get things going, sprayed some nice balls about to the flanks with both feet as well, but wasn't helped by Dembele's dawdling and positional indiscipline at times and then by Poch's subs which effectively left him alone in CM, and Rose who shades my MOTM vote for sticking to his task, defending better than the other defenders and trying to help out in attack.

All in all this was a bad day at the office for all concerned. Pochettino's selections and tactical input were flawed and the players application therein piss poor.

The transitional phase can be a fucking painful one.

Individual blame game:

Lloris - Poor distribution choices frequently.

Dier - He's not a rb and it shows.

Kaboul - Looking more Dawsonesque as his career winds down.

Chiriches - His tendency to fuck around was not what we needed today.

Rose - All things considered a very decent game. Our best defender and tried to help going forward.

Capoue - Very good first half but got a bit bogged down second half. Should never have been subbed though, just made us more vulnerable and Eriksen's wasn't passing well anyway.

Dembele - He does some good things but he plays too much with his head down, holds onto the ball too long and got caught dithering a couple of times. Also found himself wandering all over the place, leaving Capoue isolated and us structurally vulnerable.

Lamela - He tries hard but too much of what he did today was erratic and hap hazard and the choices he made were often poor or poorly executed.

Eriksen - Was poor today, not in the game enough and when he was his contribution was uninspiring.

Chadli - Didn't really contribute loads but more than Adebayor and I would have left him on.

Adebayor - Really, really piss poor. Disinterested, lethargic, clumsy, unfit for purpose. 13 passes. Defoe-esque.

Chiriches was so good under AVB, AVB had that effect on players.

Vertonghen and Bale are examples.

Some good opinions here.

On Lamela I think he's trying too hard as the rest of the team are playing so shit and are so deft of ideas, passion & movement that he feels he has to take it on himself. He really was the only one today who showed some determination. What is going through the rest of the team's heads when Lamela presses high up the pitch? "Oh fuck it I cant be arsed to help him" LAZY ****S, ITS A DISGRACE

Eriksen tried for a short while in the second half, but was anonymous mostly. Think he should be dropped now with Lamela moving inside, and Townsend or lennon brought in on the right (fuck, never thought i'd endorse that switch of players!)

We really really should've got Remy (or someone similar) in, he would've made a difference with his pace. January cant come quick enough, we need at least two new attackers with pace

I'm actually shocked there's a ratings thread for this game, it was that bad a performance.

I rarely do individual hammerings but Adebayors performance today was appalling.

A bad day at the office for all concerned but he set the tone. I'm not a huge advocate for Kane, but at least he gives a shit.

I'm hoping Poch is still familiarising himself with the squad, but how he came to the conclusion that Vlad and Kaboul was the answer...

Not looking forward to the Emirates next week.

I thought the Liverpool result would be a wake up call for the players, showing them that they needed to really pull together and work harder for each other.............unfortunately most of our guys are in some type of coma.
Hopefully this result is a wake up call for the manager and his staff........we will see.

In a few years when there is exposure of massive match fixing in the EPL you'll think back to this game and it will all make sense. What other explanation could there be for such a lifeless, depressed performance?

I joke of course. WBA aren't called the Real Madrid of the Midlands for nothing.

MPickard2087 nailed it, i think.

Anyone know how much Chiriches makes per week?

I think this would have been my summary too. I think MoPo is to blame for his selection, tactics and substitution!
The players were poor except for Rose who most didn't like last season!

That match was a pile of wank. I though Lloris was our MOM and that just shows how fucking dire we were, when the goalie is MOM.
Get rid of Chiriches, Kaboul, Paulinho and Adebayor I say.

We'd have been better with Naughton playing at RB and Dier in the centre with Kaboul yesterday, could not have been as bad as what we sore.

Why can't we learn how to break down teams, all these low and midfield teams are full of big and fit cloggers who are well drilled in defending.

Bloody depressing. And the scum won, and both my Oz teams were knocked out of the AFL finals.

And on top of all that it's Monday.

Fuck.

Lloris-5 Did his job.

Dier. 4.5 not easy to play with Kaboul and Vlad...
Kaboul 4.5 not bad.
vlad. -1 Rather have Soldado as CB
Rose 4.5 was good but i will say again, Playing alongside vlad...

Capoue 6 Is very good at what he does
Dembele 2.5 I have always liked Mousa. But he always slowes down our tempo. Napoli u can have him.

Eriksen 3. To play with Christian is to give away the hole midfield. looses every duel not good enough

Lamela 4.5 Works very good and showes what every one else misses. Fighting spirit.
Chadli 4.5 Started off well but fade away during the game.

Adebayor 2.5 Was he on the pitch ?

Paulinho -25 go and play beachvolly or something. Have red something about his coach for some years ago said: you will never play professional, Coach u where on the spot.

Lennon 5 Came on made things happend. Starting player against Goon
Roberto cant rate. Not fair to give him like 15min every time ...
