Very poor performance.

We were lucky with this result.

Saying that we should have had at least two penalties

Dembele for that goal and because the others weren't that good.

Alli probably had his worst game with us and Lamela wasnt at his best.

Not impressed with Trippier.. again.

Davies improving.

Lloris was solid.

Alderweireld definitely our best player.
Vertonghen pretty decent, but I felt switched off for the goal.
Davies did ok, unlucky with his shot, but he too maybe was sleeping for the goal.
Trippier I fail to see one redeeming feature to his play. Has to get better.

Dier had a good first half, I didn't really notice him in the second half. Bit of a trend...
Mason had a decent comeback, then tired a bit. Some nice passing at times.

Eriksen was ticking along ok. Shouldn't have been subbed off at the point in my opinion.
Alli was hardworking but quite poor throughout.
Lamela worked hard as usual, had a decent first half but was a bit more erratic in the second.

Kane scored a lethal finish and had a good all-round game in the first half. Another though who didn't hit those heights in the second half, and he looked knackered towards the end.

Son wasn't at the races, I don't think he looked anywhere near fit.
Dembele popped up when we needed some magic. Great strike.
Onomah was mostly neat and tidy again.

Edit: Still concerned about how we are managing games when it does open up and we get a bit of pressure put on us. Again tonight we were very open and crying out for one or two players to step up and get a hold of the ball and build some possession. Very much something to work on and strive to improve.

Certainly didn't look match fit. Some uncharacteristic poor touches. Still got an assist though ;)

I've slaughtered Trippier in recent games but he looked a lot better tonight, both defending and going forward.

Still needs to get tighter to his man, IMHO.

Not just for the goal, there was one or two warning signs before the goal where Ezekiel wasn't picked up and also Defour nearly scored just a minutes before the goal making a run between Davies and Vertonghen with neither of them picking them up

Lloris 6 - As bad as we were defensively I don't remember him having to do much.

Davies 5 - Wasteful on the ball and lets runners inside him too much.
Vertonghen 6 - Don't know whether to blame him for the goal or not because my stream froze on replay.
Alderweireld 6 - started slow bit got better.
Trippier 6 - really poor going forward. Alright defensively. Really needs to up his game.

Dier 7 - One poor pass aside had a really good game.
Mason 6 - Wasn't really in the game. One good block in the first half.

Lamela 6 - A couple of decent crosses in the first half, but needs to offer a lot more. Poor defensively. Yes he runs a lot, but he needs to learn when to stick to his position and help his full-back instead of relying on others to do it for him.
Allli 4 - Worst game for us. Nothing went right for him.
Eriksen 6 - Great pass for the goal but didn't offer much else.

Kane 6 - Good goal. He had a mixed night of doing to really good things and really bad things, quite often in the same move.

Son 5 - Clealy needs to get sharper. Got in a few good positions that were either wasted by the ball not getting to him (Trippier a few times) or bad control.
Dembele 7 - Invaluable goal. Only player I trust not to lose the ball in tight spaces. Please don't move him out to the right again.
Onomah 6 - Alright. Nothing terrific, nothing terrible.

Trippier was v poor, Ali was not much better today. Thought Mason and eriksen did ok but the two cb' s played well IMO verts gets the nod just for me. Two great strikes for the goals but we got out of jail a bit there.

We were a bit fortunate
Anderlecht are good - our defence was under a lot of pressure for much of the game - we did not consistently boss the midfield
Ratings:

Loris - 6 - fine - no chance with the goal
Trippier - 4 - ineffective, disappointing, poor passing , poor decision making, poor crosses
Davies - 6 - crossed well - unlucky not to score - didn't always defend well
Jan - 6 - solid - caught out once or twice
Toby - 8 - excellent
Dier - 6 - not as good as in recent games - a few sloppy passes and less dominant tackling
Alli - 5 - poor compared to recent outstanding performances - passing and decision making not at his usual high level
Mason - 6 - solid
Eriksen - 6 - not an exceptional evening for him but key pass on first goal
Lamela - 5 - poor performance - poor decision making
Kane - 7 - great goals - works so hard - so much more than a goal scorer

Subs
Dembele - 8.5 - MOTM - for changing the game with a great strike
Son - 6 - looked poor but he did play 2 crucial parts in move that led to winning goal
Onomah - 7 - this kid is fun to watch - played a role in winner and passed well

Poch - 8 - got to give him 8 because his 3 subs got us the winning goal

They were better than us but we beat them.
Tells you quite a lot about the New Spurs.
Bit like the old Spurs, same DNA after all.
Winning when playing poorly.
You know what they say.
Toby My MOM, stout performance.
The rest all over the place at times.
Where's that Dembele been hiding.

I was interested to hear that this is the first time we've ever beaten Anderlecht in 90 minutes.the cup win was the only other time and that was penalties.

Good team Anderlecht, beating them whilst playing poorly is a good sign.
Hopefully we saved plenty for Sunday.
