Voted for Lloris because I wasn't happy with the way Kaboul dealt with the ball for their goal... But it's very very close and other than that Kaboul was a ROCK.

Other than that, Ade was pitiful and just needs to go if he can't even perform against L'Arse. Apparently Benzema is unhappy at Madrid...

The reason we are not pressing is because our forward thinking players cannot defend thusly pressing at this moment of time will be a waste of energy. If we pressed today like Southampton did under Poch we would have been out of gas come 65 mins.
Sure there might have been more pressing at times but I'm very pleased we weren't using it throughout, but instead were using it opportunistically. I see it as a welcome degree of flexibility in Poch's approach that our defensive movement was intelligent and focussed on getting back into banks in front of the ball rather than full of manic pressing. Shame the ability to retain possession went out of the window with it but Rome wasn't built in a day.

Kaboul - best performance for ages. Got to be honest, I thought he'd lost it. Not by today's showing.
Naughton - pretty good. Can we all start to agree that he's a useful player now?
Most of us on here have always said he was a decent right back we just said he was a shite left back

Brave decisions in selection and tactics today and it paid off.

Both naughton and rose have come on leaps and bounds this season. Kaboul and Lloris were top notch

And
Lloris 8.
Naughton 6
Kaboul 8+
Jan 7
Rose 7

Capoue 7.5
Mason 5.5

Lamela 4.5
Eriksen 1 would have had -1 if he didnt won the ball when we scored.
Chadli 7

Adebayor 1.5

Lennon 5
Dier 5.5
Bentaleb 5
And you would get a creditable rating if you could use the English language properly. 'Won'

Lloris - 8 - Great saves and commanded his box very well.

Rose - 7 - Yet another solid display and some hard, fair tackles.

Kaboul - 9 - That is how a central defender is supposed to play. Superb throughout.

Vertonghen - 7 - Not only a good performance (except for one moment when he lost Welbeck), but a good partnership as well.

Naughton - 7 - Yet another solid display and even coped at left back, which we all know is not his forte.

Capoue - 6 - Ran himself ragged, in part because Mason is not a holding midfielder. Faded late in the match.

Mason - 6.5 - Very encouraging. Always looks forward when he has the ball. Good vision, good technique, good temperament, decent physicality.

Lamela - 5 - Despite being very much out of sorts (and his failed clearance led to the equaliser), he still managed to get yet another assist with yet another perfectly weighted pass played without even looking. Lamela sees the match in his mind, like Modric. You can't teach that.

Eriksen - 5.5 - Eriksen seems to me like a player who isn't sure what kind of football he is supposed to be playing. He's been out of sorts all season and it's not clear why. Still won the ball that led to our goal.

Chadli - 7 - Another goal from our all-rounder. Chadli isn't fantastic at anything, but he's bloody good at just about everything. He was the only attacking player to make constructive runs off the ball and on this form I'd want him in my team every week.

Adebayor - 4.5 - He had very little to work with except scraps, but we desperately needed him to show for the ball and hold it up, to keep the pressure off, but he just didn't do it. Not a good day.

Lennon - 6 - it's increasingly obvious to me that Pochettino is using Lennon as a defensive substitution, for his disruptive abilities. He never makles those counter-attacking runs anymore, but he successfully slowed down Chambers as an attacking force and got him booked.

Bentaleb - 6 - calmly did what he could when he got the ball, but late in the game the desperate hoofing out of defence and the long throw-ins up the line meant that he didn't see much of it and couldn't do what he was put on for, which was to control possession.

Dier - 7 - Very capable and had to be - saw a lot of action in a short time.

It's days like today where you think Kaboul could be our Kompany.

Needs to go on from here and do it consistently, although having Jan alongside him will help.

It seem I (well, not only me though ) was wrong about writing off Ka-bull. After all the ITK talk about his career being over plus all his sub-standard performances it was hard to believe otherwise. It would be amazing if he could hit his top-form again after being out for almost 2 years after a career threatening injury. It will be darn hard now for Dier and Fazio to oust Kabull from the starting XI.
Llors kept Spurs in the game.
I am surprised so few mention Jan... Lots of grudges out there against him it seem. I am thrilled he had such a good game and hope he'll carry on proving his doubters right.
It was not an easy game for neither Lamela nor Eriksen as Spurs hardly had the ball for large spells during the game. It takes more than 2 players to make a team click. Lamela and Eriksen both were instrumental in setting up Spurs' goal.

Oxlade-Chamberlain.. make of that what you will.

What a joke! Okay he scored, but thought Rose had him under wraps for most the game.

Kaboul motm for us.

I'd say Either of their centre halfs for them cos Ade was ineffectual. But the Ox? Nah...

Rose, Mason and Kaboul were top notch. Adebayor was horrific, worst performance I've seen from a Spurs player in a long time.

And games like this are a reminder as to how lucky we are to have Lloris.

Did you watch vlad last week? Ade was not great today but he was not that bad

It's lovely when it appears we have all in fact watched the same game, Kaboul was superb today.

And kudos to Naughton, I've give him a lot of stick for being a poor footballer but he had a very decent game today.
