Ade.

Horrific performance.

Soldado needs to start games with Lamela, Chadli, and Eriksen.

And fucking soon.

It's lovely when it appears we have all in fact watched the same game, Kaboul was superb today.

And kudos to Naughton, I've give him a lot of stick for being a poor footballer but he had a very decent game today.
Damn you! I was waiting for you analysis of Naughton, waiting to take you on, spoil sport!

EDIT: At least kudos to you, to give the credits when its due

Lloris 9 - good handling and an outstanding save at 1 nil.

Naughton 8 - very good game overall.

Rose 8 - gave 100%, kept running, and no rashness.

Vertonghen 8 - defended very well.

Kaboul 10 - he was immense.

Capoue 7 - harassed the Arsenal midfield nearly all game, faded late on. He also played a beautiful through ball for Chadli in the 1st half.

Mason 7 - very good 1st half, but also faded in the 2nd half. Capoue and Mason as a duo were much more impressive than any of our other partnerships this season.

Eriksen 5 - pretty much anonymous all game, leading to him being subbed. He did however contribute to our goal by forcing Wilsh*te into a mistake.

Lamela 6 - pressed all game and played the through ball for Chadli's goal. At fault for the Arsenal goal though with a misdirected clearance.

Chadli - 6 - took his goal very well but offered very little else. Poor finish/decision making when through on goal in the 1st half.

Adebayor 0 - disgraceful performance.

Lennon 0 - waste of space. Offered nothing going forward as usual, easily bullied off the ball and owned by Chambers.

Bentaleb - n/a

Dier - n/a

Everyone agrees on the same positives. My contribution is that arsenal didn't play well today. They hardly created and no one in that team could take players on.
Without giroud they seem a shadow of their former selfs.

Good result today.

Kaboul MoM, with good performances from the rest of the back 4, Hugo and Capoue.

Mason did ok but the front 4 are a worry for me. Both Eriksen and Lamela are supposed to be our 'footballers' but neither look after the ball particularly well. Eriksen is far too soft and inconsistent. Both Lamela and Eriksen have defensive responsibilities which neither is particularly suited to. Can't argue with Chadli's scoring record but again not influential.

And so to Ade. On the back of the West Brom performance he was again lacking. Plenty of strapping on his leg so maybe playing through injury.

Wel done Poch for having an alternative gameplan and not sending them out as headless chickens for the slaughter. We are very obviously lacking individual talent but perhaps by Christmas Poch might have compensated by molding them into a team.....

Subs-5 each.
Kaboul was he best for ages. Lamela for all his sloppy play, does create chances. He doesn't work well with Eriksen though.

Eriksen won the tackle that led to our goal. Last season that would not have happened. He has improved that part of his game-but does all the "running abaaaht" nullify his creative side?

As everyone else has said a welcome return to form for Kaboul, absolute beast today, finally a captains performance from someone and long may it continue.

Rose was also very good and Lamela is showing glimpses of what a good player he is going to be, played some very intelligent, mature passes like he did for the goal, game time is definitely developing him.

It's now time to drop Adebayor and give Soldado a chance to finally show us why he paid what we did for him.

Kaboul - best performance for ages. Got to be honest, I thought he'd lost it. Not by today's showing.
Naughton - pretty good. Can we all start to agree that he's a useful player now?

He goes to sleep too often positionally for me. Too easy to get behind.

Good today though. Good on 'im.

Lloris - 8 - Couldn't prevent the goal, but otherwise a series of solid saves and successful coming out for crosses.
Rose - 8 - Played sensibly and conservatively, dealt with most things that were thrown at him despite repeated diving attempts by Arsenal players.
Kaboul - 9 - Proper captain's performance, was absolutely immense. The kind of performance he used to put in when he was fully fit. Really happy for him.
Vertonghen - 8 - A worthy partner to Younes, read the game well and worked the ball away well, always looking for a useful outfield pass. Again, a performance of the type we hoped we were going to get consistently from him.
Naughton - 7 - Was absolutely pelted by Arsenal, particularly in the second half, but generally stood up well to it, didn't throw himself in.
Capoue - 6 - Faded in the second half but generally did a decent job of covering the defence and tried to work positive balls out from defence.
Mason - 6 - Good debut from the lad, more than justified his selection. A little more attacking than Capoue and gave as good as he got in the battle with Wilshere, until the concaine-snorting, ****-haired, foot-faced Gooner wanker admitted defeat and was subbed.
Lamela - 5 - Poor game from Coco especially by his standards. Gave the ball away too much and made too many poor decisions, and shanked his clearance for their goal. Still, was constantly trying to make things happen, played in the assist for the goal, and worked his arse off. More than can be said for some.
Eriksen - 6 - Didn't see a lot of the ball and wasn't great defensively, but made the tackle for the goal and did try and make some positive passes when he got the chance.
Chadli - 7 - Didn't do too much except score, but scoring a goal away against Arsenal is the biggest thing you can hope to do, and took his chance brilliantly.
Adebayor - minus 10 - Actively damages our football with his lazy ineptitude and inability to keep control of the ball, get into useful space, finish easy chances, or even fucking run about a bit.

Poch - 8 - Set us up well (lovely to see us playing counter-attack), generally made good decisions, but could've changed the game if he'd played or brought on Soldado for Adebayor. I'm convinced we'd have scored at least one more goal if Bobby had played in place of Ade.

Overall a decent performance, good result and nice to see us playing committed football against a big team and not giving in when we conceded.
Can' believe you gave Eriksen a higher mark than Lamela. Lamela mae more counters happen than anyone and got an assist, where as Eriksen, other than the pressure for the goal, did sod all.

That was the only hard, nasty pressing he did all game and the first time he does it it leads to a goal.

If he can't step up his intensity, drive and effort he's gonna be a luxury we can't afford.

Just how I see it.

At Ajax he was the trigger for their pressing yet kept his creative side. Just going through a bad patch IMO.

Do you use a sports car to bring home a flat pack wardrobe from IKEA?
It can be done but is that what you bought the sports car for?

pretty sure the lack of pressing was by design, we went to contain and counter, good plan and it worked.
I agree with the two banks of four but Chadli and Adebayor should of been pressing since they stayed up

But this is the EPL, you can't just swan around, it doesn't work.

Other fine players come here and soon find out they have to graft to survive in this league.
