Anyone remember when no-one pressed like us ? . Where has our intensity gone ? Acres of space for the opposition these days .

Everyone's drooling over Messi...but look at the game again..he's frequently in loads of space . We helped him look a genius imo .

I'm not sure what poch was thinking when we score to get back into it and he brinks on sissoko?

Some of our passing when we had Barcelona under pressure was great, fast one touch foot, but bringing on sissoko just slow everything downs and his touch was as usual rubbish.

I thought a 3-3 draw would have been a great result but lloris was ropey, I thought as he's just back from injury that gazzinga should have stay in goal as he's played very well.

Felt like we got our Tottenham back yesterday. A mobile central midfield in Wanyama and Winks, and behind Kane a player with vision in Lamela.

First game in a very long time I enjoyed watching.

He merely did what I’ve seem him do several hundred times before. We could have stuck a man marker on him, hell we could have stuck three on him, and he’d have had just as much freedom. It’s Messi, it’s what he does, it’s why he is the best of all time. I’ve been waiting his whole career to watch him live and he did not disappoint. If you actually watch him when he doesn’t have the ball, everything he does to find space is so calculated, so clinical. In the mood he was in last night we’d have needed a nuke to stop him.

Totally agree that he was amazing. As a Barca fan too it was great to watch. But we didn't have people closing him fast enough and let him drift into dangerous areas too many times

slightly croaky this morning. The officials gave us fkall especially in that decisive early period- as if it wasn't hard enough playing against that lot. Some of our players looked and played scared initially which was a real shame. Many if not most emerged with credit from across the football world by their second half endeavours.

The good news is Kane is back, Winks will now feel he can compete at this level and in Lamela, providing he stays injury free, we have a talisman- in spirit and technique.

Proud we were on that stage last night and did well. No point dwelling on the individual errors. And a privilege to finally see Messi play in the flesh.

Lamela, Kane and Lucas looked at the right level, then Winks in the 2nd half stepped up. All the others were "meh" to "what the hell are you doing?".

Absolutely no idea what has happened to our rock solid defence/holding midfield of the seasons past - gaping holes throughout the entire match. I know people are raving about Messi, but my god we made it easy for him.

Im gonna get a lot of negatives here but i thought Wanyama was good. He had to control his play after the yellow which made him a bit cautious and thus was rightly replaced. Dier came on and did his job but i believe wamyama was better before he got his yellow.

More a case of players being out on their feet than any tactical decision. Sissoko could have caused problems with his energy and Barca getting tired but we conceded again. People can blame Sissoko for that, but I really can't see the problem with trying 'route 1' when we're chasing a game in the last few minutes. How many more times do we have to witness faffing around near our own penalty area leading to major problems. Push everyone up to challenge for the 2nd ball and launch the fucking thing up the pitch FFS. Every team we play has now identified it as area to put us under pressure.

in my opinion if not letting in a goal so early (loris fault) 1
if we played same tempo 1st half as second half 2
If not having Dele;Verts;Erricson injured. 3
If the ref was even handed. 4
If loris was not so bad 5
Somewhere in there is the reason we lost but saying all that I came away proud of the team overall and look forward with great hope for Cardiff on sat in fact this could be where we turned the corner this season

Winks was MOTM for me. He upped his game in the second half but that's not to say his first half performance was bad. To the contrary, I thought he played well in the first half too.

Kane was excellent throughout and he looks close to, if not back, to his brilliant best.

Trippier wasn't great and fell asleep a few times, however it's harsh to lay the blame solely at his door. Jordi Alba is one of the most offensive full backs in world football, the only left back I've seen consistenly fighting with defences' offside traps, therefore some help from either Moura or Son or Sissoko would have helped somewhat. For their 3rd goal for example, whilst a brilliant moment of play from Barca, Son was more to blame in not tracking Alba's run than Trips. That's not to say I think Trippier had a good game, but rather to state I don't think he was as bad as people are making out.

Lloris: 4 - Got them off to the best start possible. Perhaps he shouldn't have been rushed back for this game.

Trippier: 5 - Not good, but not as bad as some are making out.
Sanchez: 5 - Some iffy moments on the ball. Some moments of snoozing with runs in behind him off it. Difficult to be too critical though as Barca are a nightmare.
Alderweireld: 5 - Similar to Sanchez, seemed to improve as the game went on.
Davies: 5 - Didn't do much in the game offensively. Luckily he didn't get left one on one with Messi very many times.

Winks: 8 - MOTM for me. Showed composure on the ball, tenacity in his work rate off the ball and brilliant character to try and drag us back into the game at 2-0 and 3-1. He had a similar moment last season against Real Madrid and we all thought that was the moment he became a permanent fixture in our central midfield. This feels similar and I hope this time it comes true.
Wanyama: 7 - Not easy in there, especially on a yellow. Did well enough and wasn't bad in his composure and distribution too.

Son: 5 - Wasteful, poor technique in crucial moments, bad decision making, not always supportive defensively.
Moura: 5.5 - Slightly better than Son, not a lot though. He may get better ratings because of that moment of brilliance when he cut inside and nearly made it 3-3, but other than that could have used the ball better in the final third, especially in the first half.
Lamela: 7 - Not as great as everyone is making out. Nearly got himself sent off for clotheslining Busquets. Showed great tenacity off the ball but I would like a little more composure on the ball and faster decision making. Had a relatively good game, especially in the second half.

Kane: 8 - Brilliant goal. Great hold up play, came deep but effectively not pointlessly. Seems to be back to his best.

Sissoko: 0 - Sick of him. I get genuinely shocked and impressed when he actually controls the ball.
Dier: 6 - Better than he has been.
Llorente: 0 - We always buy tall forwards that are shit in the air.

There was something positively Zokora'esque in that burst through the middle around 80 mins, only to be sent crashing to the ground by a cynical trip. Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, I can tell you.

What is happening with Son? He is nowhere near his level of the last season. He seems to regressed badly with his ball control and instincts.

Actually the entire team seems to be a little bit hesitant going foward, could be the fear of making a error or lack of confidence within the players, this is a problem that make the team predicable and slow, maybe with Eriksen and Dele returning the team can go back to his old form.

I liked the fight of the team though, even with Messi absolutely unstoppable and Barça playing the best game of the their season, we managed to stay in the game and close to tie. The team showed a great fighting spirit, but unfortunately we were too lackluster to win the game.

It's not over yet.

I think he was tiring and needed to be replaced but I generaly agree and him and Winks was the correct starting selction by Poch.

I'm honestly not sure how I would go about rating players individually for this game.

On the one hand I was delighted with our fight and desire to get back into the game and when Lucas skipped between two defenders and lined up a shot, I gasped like a little girl seeing Disney Land for the first time. Sadly, Lenglet made a good block and it wasn't to be. Had he scored and made it 3-3 then it would've been awesome but also, if we're honest, daylight robbery.

Barca were far superior for the majority of the game, which is to be expected when we had 4 key players missing and them being one of the best teams in the world. With that said however, to commit the kinds of errors we did was absolutely criminal.

Hugo Lloris has shown previous for dropping clangers in big games but what he did last night was verging on unforgiveable. It was his worst ever performance for Spurs IMO. I am still in utter disbelief that he chose to race out of his goal like he did. Jordi Alba was well positioned but was still wide enough and we had enough covering defenders that we would have likely dealt with the attack. Instead, Coutinho is given an open goal to fire in to and our gameplan is out of the window. He's supposed to be our captain. He's supposed to be the one keeping his head when others are losing theirs.

I've been critical of Hugo in the past. I know he's a world class shot stopper but his kicking is poor, his positioning can be suspect and his decision making is horrific and it's becoming more frequent. In the 2nd half he nearly cost us another goal only to be bailed out by Toby. He looks like a bloody fool with the ball at his feet, scampering about, trying to avoid attackers. It has to stop. We don't need this from our keeper, if he's not sure then I'd rather he boot it out for a throw-in or clear it downfield. The 4th goal wasn't directly his fault, however, at that point in the game I expect him to kick long to Llorente and Kane in the hopes one of them can hold it up and we can attack one last time. Not for him to play some shit little pass to Trippier in our right back position only for him to then play a hospital pass to Sissoko, get caught on it and gift Barca another goal. Infuriating.

Anyway, I feel Kane is looking sharper by the game now and he was very good. Great goal. Lamela worked his ass off and really contributed. Toby, Winks and Lucas were all very good. More so Winks in the last 30 mins than before but still good. Wanyama to me is still nowhere near his best but I felt he was better than recent games. Lost Messi for their 3rd goal though. Beyond that I don't anyone else is worth mentioning.

Positives can be taken and I'm certainly doing that (outside of my Lloris rant) but we certainly need Alli, Eriksen and Dembele back with Jan now out for 4 weeks :(

It’s worrying how people find any reason to rip into Sissoko yet the biggest cock up throughout the game has to be Hugo Lloris. I blame Lloris more for Messi 2nd goal too
