Rose and Sissoko are both reasonable shouts for MotM.

But Chrsitian Eriksen was on a different level to every other player on the pitch today. Something like ~60 passes at 90+% with a lot of them forward is ridiculous in itself, but even that doesn't tell the true story. It was a masterclass in vision and passing ability from an attacking midfielder. I said this in his player thread, but I'm still not sure if it was a good or bad thing that he put in that kind of performance in at the Nou Camp under their very noses. I'd hate for them to think of it as an audition. Also showed, once again, that he is a vastly superior footballer to Coutinho, as he always has been.

Lloris: 7
KWP: 6
Alderweireld: 8
Vertonghen: 8
Rose: 9
Winks: 8
Sissoko: 9
Eriksen: 10
Dele: 7
Son: 6
Kane: 8

Lucas: 8
Lamela: 7
Llorente: N/A

How can you give a 10 to someone whose set piece led to Barcelona's goal, other set pieces were shocking and put his shot too close to the keeper?

I didn't see any of the game as it was on at 4.30 in my timezone but i'm going to give everyone a 10 for doing jolly well and getting us into the last 16. well done.

Eriksen was sublime, some of his passing in the middle third a real delight.

Lloris - 7
KWP - 6 - unlucky Dembele absolutely roasted his half mistake, but did look a little overawed and kept slipping over.
Toby - 8 - usual rock
Verts - 8 - likewise
Rose - 8 - promising performance but very rusty in final third. Got in behind s few times and wasted the chances with poor crosses and shooting. Spectacular failure with his best chance at the end.
Winks - 7 - kept going but no moments of quality
Sissoko - 7.5 grew into the game after a weak first period. Really good 2nd half.
Son - 7 - needed to score one of his two great chances
Dele - 8 - probed throughout
Eriksen - 9 - sublime play from much deeper than usual
Kane - 8 - great link up play

Lamela - 9 - was such a threat in between the lines and gave us a cutting edge
Moura - 8 - scored the goal, should have scored another.
Llorente - 6 - didn’t see him touch the ball

Poch - 9 - threw the dice and won. Great belief and man management.

Firstly I wasn't talking to you (I rarely am) and I do want those two idiots (and I do mean that) to elaborate on the aspersions they're casting because I will not have that kind of inference being thrown about the forum (not the first time).

My opinion on Trippier is irrelevant to this thread although I do find it quite staggering that KWP has 4 votes for MOTM after clearly being our worst player.

Sissoko for me though Rose was equally as good.

The transformation of the former is just stunning. He has gone from a complete liability that couldn’t control a ball or make a short pass to a dominant midfield machine.

Awesome effort from all. We’re through!!!

You just managed to prove exactly what there calling you out on(i did tee it up for you to be fair). You cant help but make your disdain for certain players known and take digs at them who play the same position as certain players you like. If you didnt make it so obvious, you wouldnt be called out on it. Just tone it down and it’ll go away.

Say what you think, so I can prove you all wrong PLEASE. Elaborate without playing the same shitty games as the 2 I've called out about it who so far haven't had the balls to back up their view.

3 players who stood out were instrumental in Barca's goal. Eriksen with a dreadful set piece, Sissoko with a weak header and KWP not getting a sniff at Dembele. Therefore, I'm going against the grain a bit an giving it to Harry Winks with a very 'under the radar' performance that gave us tempo and control in MF. KWP redeemed himself with an incredible block by the way. Poch absolutely nailed the subs and, with nothing to lose, gave the lads everything they needed to get the job done. Fantastic night.

I think Winks got a lot better in the second half but first half he was giving the ball away quite a bit.

Think it's very hard to look past Sissoko, Rose and Eriksen.

Lamela 5 :ROFLMAO:

Player ratings in the English press are just total bullshit anyway. Everyone gets between 5 and 8 almost no matter what they do. How about using the whole bloody scale? It's 1-10 for a reason.

Sissoko got MOTM for me, he was an absolute beast. He started in a midfield 2 , it then went to a 3 and he came over more to the right and constantly covered Walker Peters . He was signalling to WP throughout advising where to go and who to track whilst he also covered at points and let WP get forward, he obviously knew WP was struggling. He then on top of that went to right back in a back four and did a quality job. As well as all this he put in great tackles, great crosses , made runs and bullied the barca players. It is amazing how well he has turned things around and is regularly putting in great performances.

You mean implication. You infer from someone else’s implication.

Grammar aside, as I’m only pissing about and I did know what you meant, I do think it’s irresponsible and unnecessary for anyone to publicly accuse you of racist tendencies based on opinions you’ve provided on a football forum. If someone genuinely feels you’ve behaved that way, they should report your post with the reason why and let admin address it, or they should send you a private message and allow you to address it. I, for one, can’t remember ever seeing one of your posts and thinking that about you. There have been posters in the past who I’ve thought displayed signs of discriminatory motivations in their reasoning but I can’t say you’re someone I’ve noticed any such thing with.

Rose Winks and Sissoko our best but the team was magnificent. Great to see Danny surge down the line while Sissoko charged forward after breaking up play many times. His physicality makes opponents seemingly back off. For me Winks came of age in the middle. He did something at Real Madrid last year and did it again today....we have a new star that the big boys with be scanning. His performance meant that on the night Dier, who many thought would play, didn't actually get a minute from what I recall.

They all made mistakes (apart from Lloris and the subs) IMO. As I said, Eriksen's dreadful set pieces, Sissoko with a tame header straight to Dembele and Rose missed a clear chance. Winks had a few stray passes but kept going and none of the Barca midfield got into the game. I'm quite happy with anyone's vote for MOM though after such a great team effort.

Eriksen's free kick and Sissoko's header cannot be counted as mistakes if the KWP dealt with the ball properly, this is just over analysing for the sake of it and pointing fingers unnecessarily. Anyway it's harsh on KWP because we're talking about Dembele who still had to run 80 yards and put the ball in the back of the net but his is the level we're playing at I suppose.

Anyway my point is that calling out Eriksen and Sissoko on that goal is nonsense, if you have to point the finger at someone then it will be KWP but again it's harsh on him, I'm not a fan of attributing blame to our players unless they really deserve it, just got to applaud the goal Because Dembele had a lot to do and he took it very well.
