Have you noticed, the more possession we have (67% tonight) the worse we look?

Everton game we had way less than them, and looked pretty convincing.

Paulinho and Stambouli did pretty well I thought. Good to see Walker back, massively missed. Dembele was decent first half, atrocious second. Chadli worst game of season. Townsend must've lost the ball ten times. Soldado will never recover imo. Kaboul was Kaboul.

The subs were bizarre, we were controlling the middle it was the attacking third that needed changes. So we gave that up, left the ineffective wingers on and took of our only striker. Game ended right there.

Closely followed by Poch for his inspired substitutions....

Hysterical overreaction in here tonight lol.

Not exactly a critical game, with a raft of changes on a shitty pitch. Some of the players with the same limitations surfacing again - like its a fucking shock? Soldado continuing to fire shots anywhere but at the goal, Townsend flattering to deceive and Dembele at the hub of slowing down any passing and moving we attempted to get going.

We were actually controlling the game fine before Kaboul's sloppy error. Sure we didn't move the ball quick enough but we had chances and were cruising towards a point in a tough arena before Kaboul's lapse.

Great to see Walker back who did pretty well. Stambouli and Vlad were decent to.

I'll wait to see how we do against Swansea before getting all hysterical.

In fact this week will go some way to either settling people down or stirring people up. Swansea, Newcastle and Burnley. Lets give it a week, eh.

We were made to look ordinary by a very ordinary team, Townsend for me was the epitome of how bad we played.Time and again he either lost the ball over hit or chose the wrong pass, he's pure shit and so was that performance.PS I didn't rate anyone so no vote from me!
He was my WOM, Worse of the match

After the hysterics, we are still in all four competitions. I really expect us to do well and I mean well in that we will be moving up the league, in a cup semi final and a kind draw in the knock out stage of the EC in a week and a half or so. I am still optimistic.........just

We were good against Everton. Just have a little patience and perspective. Tonight was a whole raft of changes on a shit pitch in a game that wasn't critical to win.

Do me a favour - just wait one week, and if we're as bad against Swansea, Newcastle and Burnley I'll be sharing your concern wholeheartedly.

But we won't be.

How many games have we played this season in total ? And all any of us can come up with is we played well against Everton ? We also played well against qpr but come on is that all we have to lean on ? Come on this is getting a little bit repetitive now? We are very poor and we all need to accept that it's another season of transition.... We've been here before

It was very poor but individually all of those players have played worse than they did today. Having said that the only one that is anywhere near the first team is Walker who even at half fit demonstrated to Rose that the role of an attacking full back doesn't end when you lose possession 30 yards into the opposition half and that at least attempting to get back and atone for your error is part of the job description.

Stambouli wasn't awful but wasn't great either. Dembele will split opinion but at least seemed to be trying. The most positive thing I can say about this match is that (Walker excepted) it doesn't look like Poch has made a mistake leaving them out of the premiership games so maybe he is beginning to understand what he has to work with (and which players should be sold in January / loaned out to the Siberian Prison League / boiled down for glue).

Our players were shown up for being technically poor .

When put under pressure they invariably released the ball in a hit an hope fashion so that it ended up in the possession of the opposition .

Our players don't have the ability to control the ball so consequently it all breaks down when they try to play a fast passing game .

Bit disappointing really .

I find the ratings thread hilarious after a poor performance. I've belly laughed a few times now.
