Lloris 6 - not much to do. Made a few decent saves. Distribution fine

Aurier 6 - would have been a lot less if it wasn't for the goal and assist

Sanchez 5 - not his best game

Vertonghen 7 - best of the back four

Rose 5 - poor crossing

Wanyama 5 - still not at the levels he was at last season

Dembele 6 - started poor but grew into the game a little. Still not fantastic

Alli 7 - good finish, all round game was good too. Would have had a higher rating had he started better

Eriksen 8 - controlled the midfield

Son 8 - two goals and took over in Kane's absence

Kane 5 - started all right, disallowed goal

Lamela 6 - started poorly, grew into the game well

Sissoko 6 - some good link up play, did well to (eventually) get the ball out to Trippier for Aurier's goal

Trippier 6 - didn't do too much. Assist for Aurier

Strange scores

Haven't been overly impressed by Eriksen lately but with exception of 1st 20 minutes where everyone was poo thought he was fantastic, he done his usual fantastic passes but today his workrate was excellent, my MOTM. Also overall some strong performances going forward, less so at the back but we seemed to steady the ship.

I thought Wanyama was crap in the first 20-30 minutes but then stepped up massively and constantly helped us win the ball back.

I can agree with that. Perhaps this distorted my view of his all-round game, as i wasn't pleased with how he played

Worst first 20 mins of football I have seen from us for a long time. Fair play to the lads for wrestling the game back and for being clinical when it mattered.

Obviously, Aurier is a big topic of conversation - for me I still think he needs time to adapt but coming from a new league shouldn't mean he is given a pass for being so wasteful. He did redeem himself which definitely shows character just maybe a little after training crossing practice might come handy.

Chose Eriksen because I thought he was fantastic on and off the ball though hats off to our boy Son for stepping up today.

1 minute in I was thinking ‘we better snap out of this’. 3 minutes in I was thinking ‘we really have to snap out of this’. 7 minutes in I was thinking ‘fucking snap out of this you stupid bastards’.

Bournemouth starting hard and fast, our players still kicking their wounds from Wednesday, not a great recipe. Thankfully this isn’t the old Spurs who, the game after winning the league cup, get battered by a side fighting relegation. This Spurs has balls, and after a rubbish start the players revealed those balls and yes, they were dramatically larger than Bournemouth’s.

Lloris couldn’t stop the goal, came out well a couple of times and distribution was fine.

Aurier goes from the sublime to the ridiculous, sometimes in on motion. Great assist, good goal, coveted a lot of ground but severely wasted opportunities to deliver.

Sanchez used his pace well a few times and was generally tidy but he was too casual too often in loose ball / 5050 situations.

Vertonghen was solid and dependable, some teasing long passes.

Rose delivery was dreadful and he lacked the dynamism of old.

Wanyama was poor on the ball with several sloppy passes but solid enough defensively,

Dembele never seemed to get going and was underwhelming with and without the ball.

Eriksen was our best player, orchestrated the entire game.

Dele worked tirelessly, got a good goal and great assist and took responsibility when Kane departed.

Son was busy but erratic for much of the match, offering little substance, however he scored two goals to win and kill the game and was a great threat on the counter.

Kane was okay, some good passes and link up play. Gutted if he’s managed to injure himself scoring a disallowed goal.

Lamela was very good, keeping our play fluid and varied, driving us forward constantly.

Sissoko came on and had one nice involvement with our fourth goal.

Trippier provides the cross which Begovic put on Auruers head.

The best move Rose made all game was being subbed. He was poor and I don’t think he even chested the ball once. It’s like the Undertaker not performing the Tombstone. I’ve been patient with him but I think it’s time we let him go in the summer.

Eriksen was superb today. All over the pitch and his passing was inch perfect.

Special mention for Sissy who gets a lot of stick but settled us down when he came on.

Son did well, for his second goal particularly, but Eriksen was far and away our best player today - outstanding offensively and defensively

Dele got absolutely destroyed in the match thread...I guess he did only get the one goal and assist.

Eriksen ran the show.
Dembele was excellent too.
But this was Sonny's day and he stepped up.

Kane was clearly injured before he was injured, so him going off was no bad thing short term.
Wanyama has aged 10 years from the player of last year - if this is his new level, then we might need to address this in the summer.

Cant believe how much lamela's upper body strength has improved. 3 years ago a strong breeze knocked him off balance but now he is really difficult to dispossess.

I thght alli had a really good game. Rolled his sleeves up and got stuck so for that and the goal and assist he gets my vote

Quite a mixed bag.

The first 20 minutes were shambolic, as individuals all over the pitch we were second best and tactically things weren't going well either - as we got squeezed, there was a massive disconnect from back to front, and then looked vulnerable to the counter. There couldn't really be any complaints about going a goal down.

Minutes 20-35 were better in at least we got some foothold, still looking vulnerable on the counter but at least pushing them back, and we eventually strung a bit of play together that got the equaliser. Bournemouth lost their early bluster and we ended the half with the momentum and looking stronger.

A key change happened after that disastrous opening. We got something that I, and a few others (hello @Bus-Conductor), have been calling for for years now. We got a 4-3-3. Wanyama sitting centrally, with Eriksen and Dembele either side of him, more stable in the build up possession play and allowing better balance for the fullbacks to push forward. Ahead of this Son through the middle, flanked by Alli and Lamela, but in practice a fluid set up with plenty of rotation. It wasn't a perfect example of a 4-3-3 at work but there was some decent facets, we had more stable possession and the rotation of the front three posed them more questions and dragged their defence about at times.

The second half carried on much the same as the first half ended. Bournemouth had punched themselves out largely and barely threatened, we played competently enough. Eventually we got ourselves ahead, but the game then I felt got a bit more bitty and we stopped playing. I was a tiny bit fearful that we might get punished for taking our foot off the pedal, but we got a breakaway third in the final minutes and even had time to well and truly rub it in and get a 4th.

I think 4-1 flattered us as the performance was very patchy. However it's another crucial three points at a key stage of the season to keep our good league form and momentum going, and it was interesting to see Poch switch the shape and at least wrestle a tad more control in the game after a difficult start.

Lloris - Didn't have a great deal to do. No chance for the goal. Had another situation with the shot off the bar though where I look at it and think he needs to stand 'bigger', it makes it too easy to clip the ball past him in my opinion.

Aurier - What a rollercoaster of a game..... Some errors, a good cross for the goal, another foul throw, some more errors, couple of decent bits of play, pops up to score the 4th, then ends the game with an absolutely spacktastic miscontrol out for a thrown in. Mental.

Sanchez - A few lax moments but also some decent recovery defending at times.

Vertonghen - Felt he had another below-par game today and did a lot of questionable things. Improved a bit towards the end though.

Rose - Real mixed bag. Really struggling for rhythm and 90 mins match fitness and he's not going to get it without a run of games, but will he get them, this season at least?

Wanyama - Started a bit slowly, had a strong middle of the game, got a bit sloppy towards the end.

Dembele - Piss poor first half, subdued second.

Eriksen - Honestly, I think he looks a tad heavy legged at the moment and not his ultra smooth usual self with ball at feet, however after a slowish start he knitted play together in the cm3 and played a few lovely through passes. Also tracked back well and covered space intelligently at times.

Alli - Still not firing on all cylinders but came alive more after Kane went off and looked better in his role roaming off the left hand side and interchanging with the other forwards. A goal and nice assist at crucial times.

Son - Felt he stepped up well when the change was made and led the line admirably. Some lively movement across the front caused them issues at times and made space for others. Two goals, the first a little fortunate, but the second taken very coolly.

Kane - His time on the pitch coincided with the spell in the game where we were second best all over the pitch, but he looked really sluggish out there even before his knock. Slow and often beaten to the ball. I don't think an enforced rest would be a bad thing for him tbh.

Subs:
Lamela - Fairly standard Lamela performance. Some decent lively positive stuff mixed with quite frequent bouts that leave you tearing your hair out. It's just the way it is, and up to individual fans what they focus on.

Trippier - A somewhat fortunate assist.

Sissoko - Couple of decent bits of play in his cameo.

Have to say Lamela's introduction changed the game for me. Dele and Son delivered, but Lamela's movement really did disrupt their shape which afforded Eriksen the room to run the show for long periods.

It was his intensity and constant roaming that really caused Bournemouth problems, and of course we started gelling as an offensive unit and playing with more attacking tempo. Difference was stark for me.

It was Lamela's quick feet that started the move and engineered the space for Son (I think) to play Aurier into buckets of space who in turn fed Dele for the equaliser not long before HT. Crucial really.

Son was fantastic again, Dele producing in big key moments and Eriksen just controls our tempo so effortlessly but highly efficiently.

However Lamela gets my MOTM for transforming our attacking tempo which ultimately overwhelmed Bournemouth.

It was also Lamelas pressing that lead to the 3rd goal.

But Eriksen MOM for me. Took the game by the scruff of the neck.

Hard to argue with Eriksen, he was so good at times. Just think Lamela had such a significant influence on the game in terms of how we started to play and consequently the changing pattern of the game, which Eriksen and we benefited from massively.

Up until the goal it was deserved. Fair play to him, he changed his performance and upped his game.
