9 - 0 to Brighton (In signings this season that is)!

1st Half - A better start than we have had for ages with a rewarding goal for our efforts. Though I think we still lack a bit of composure and our players were constantly misreading and getting in the way each other. Saying that, a good shout from the ref where everyone else seemed not to have spotted the hand ball. In my view the only disappointing player in this half has been Son, still think Lamela should have started

2nd Half - We made a meal of the 2nd half by allowing Brighton back into the game. Nearly a repeat of the Watford, Inter games. Thank God for Lamela (who should have started imo). With Alli also coming on, we managed to hold off Brighton for the final 15 minutes, especially as they came back from 0-2 to draw in their last two matches.

Not one of our convincing performances but a good away win against a team who also beat Manu at home.

I honestly dont know who to give MOTM

Lamela who changed the game after coming on as a sub? Kane for his goal? Dembele for playing three games in a week? I will go for with the majority on this occasion.

I voted Rose MOTM. He is looking better and better with every game.

That was not a perfect performance by any means..but it was a huge step forward for us, in performance, commitment, energy & drive.

Fabulous win.

Only injuries can stop Lamela winning the Ballon d'Or

Gazza looks really promising. Look solid when we are attacked in air. No.2 goalkeeper for me

And Kane is almost, almost back.

Ok, but all Brighton's corners and the last one minute remind me how terrifying to be a damn spurs fan

Not really sure who was our best. All players had moments where they could have done better.

Rose was okay but has his moments and his effort for their goal was lazy.

Verts and Alderweireld rarely put a foot wrong.

Trippier and Dier were below par.

Dembele was okay but nothing special.

Son, Moura and Eriksen.... all a bit meh.

Kane, was better than he has been.

Lamela, the difference was clear to see when he came on. Plays with drive, which we lack.

Alli, did his bit coming on.

At best there were okay players during the game. Eriksen was mediocre, Lucas too, Son was awful on the pitch, seems to be the most affected by that mental fatigue that is plaguing the team. Kane was better than in the last matches, he got some nice runs but he wasted a lot of chances in the end and we were almost punished.

Lamela and Dele Alli entered very well in the game, Lamela looks a lot better when he enters the second half and Dele Alli is simply the most consistent player of the season.

The wingbacks are regressing, Rose was abused by Knockaert the whole game, but still had bright moments going to the attack and Trippier wasted too many balls. Dier is another who had a horrible match, it has been sad to see Dembele only allude to what he once was.

The defenders were ok, Gazzaniga ok too. It was not a pretty win, but it was worth the three points.

Better, I have given Poch a lot of stick over the last few weeks, but he was much better today. Picked a formation the players all knew and understood and the subs were positive which didn't force us onto the back foot. I don't think we played anywhere near what we can and a couple of players were still lacking today(Dier and Trips in particular)but that didn't matter because they were comfortable in what they were doing.

It was also good to see Kane getting some confidence back towards the end and actually getting in the right positions and having shots again.

MOTM for me though goes to Toby who IMO didn't put a foot wrong tonight.

Dembele had 97% pass completion and was excellent. Kane for the first time started to look like Kane of old (espechially when Dele, Eriksen and Coco were on the pitch together). Rose, although getting caught out of position a few times and a few wrong choices in the final third, I thought was very good and again showing he’s getting back to his best. Dele as well made a big impact and was very positive. But Lamela again made the difference so he get my MOTM.

Gazzaniga 6 - Didn't have a whole lot to do but did it well.

Rose 6 - He's had better performances and was getting slated. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for the last 10 minutes where he was woeful. Good going forward when he had the space.
Alderweireld 7 - Toss up between him and Dembele for MOTM for me. Get's a lot of blocks and stays cool when he's in trouble.
Vertonghen 6 - Decent.
Trippier 5 - Poor defensively and didn't offer much going forward, part of which wasn't his fault.

Dier 5 - Poor.
Dembele 7 - Much more like his old self. Moved around the pitch a lot better. Underrated at winning the ball back.

Eriksen 6 - Not really in it in the first half. Better in the second.
Son 5 - Not at it so far this season.
Lucas 5 - Needs to be better off the ball. Wasn't too good on the ball either.

Kane 6 - Better. Good second half where he looked more like himself. First half he was so isolated.

Lamela 7 - Good impact from the bench again.
Alli 6 - Didn't do much good or bad.

Gazza or Lamela for me tonight. Just went for Gazza because of time on the pitch. Rose got the tv mom ?

I think Lamela - he was hugely positive but more importantly he played through and inbetween the lines.

Gazza for me. Defence seemed more stable but Gazza came out and claimed or punched crosses even when under pressure.

Lamela close second. I fcuking love Coco

Gazza- like. Good last time we saw him. Out Vorm, I say...

Trips and Rose- mixed bag, but Rose was horrendous for their goal. How Ghod gave him MoM I don't know.
CBs good.

Dier good first half but ponderous in the second.
Mouse- MoM. That;s exactly what Poch asks of him.

Son, not yet back up to speed.
Moura, a threat, but lacked the execution today
Eriksen- a bit better but still off

Kane- promising signs in the last 15

Lamela did well- in fact, he always does well off the bench.

12 points is OK, considering we're really not out of second gear yet...

Dier is an interesting one. I can understand why some thought he was better and some thought he wasn't great again.

Let's start with his passing. This was much, much better. Passed with zip and purpose, effective vertical passing and sprayed some nice passes out wide.

However, off the ball he struggled at times.. Got turned easily, and did look a touch slow when trying to battle for the ball.

And the penalty shout against him typifies that, just couldnt adjust quickly enough.

But his passing was much better, so a mixed bag fit for me.
