!st Half: We laboured while having most of the possession but found it difficult to play around or dismantle the parked bus. Kane wrongly denied a penalty and close misses by both Lamela and Lucas we could have been 3-0 up.

2nd Half : Burnley decided not to move the bus which resulted in a very boring and frustrating game. Credit to Davies who played well in an unfamiliar position where Spurs were concerned, all be it the bus being parked the other end made it easier for him. Also Skipp who took his debut well where he played like a seasoned professional. My disappointments were Lamela who although he made his own chances he fluffed them, and Dele for being anonymous. My MOTM is Eriksen who figured out the bus had a door and used it to good effect!

Although it wasnt a vintage Spurs performance, its 3 more points to the tally. COYS

Outside of Eriksen I thought Toby was excellent, his passing in the first half created quite a few opportunities.

Eriksen simply because he scored but our performance was not good

It is far too risky not to start your best team. I know and get and appreciate the resting but it is far greater risk to do what we did against Burnley than say the opposite which is to win then rest the players. If we want to win the league or give it our best shot then we need to win these games.

Cant complain though in terms of result but that was not good for my heart and blood pressure.

Hard to rate the players because pf the pitch condition and also against a team that just Parked the bus.

But credit to the following :-

1. Davies who played really well at CB
2. Skipp for not being overawed by his debut
3. Eriksen for being Eriksen

Lamela and Sissoko had off days today

All others played ok considering the conditions

Nobody stood out in a good way really, all fairly lacklustre but I thought Rose was utter garbage. Hard to believe this was the same player who looked so good against Barca in mid week.

I'd give the motm to the crowd. Hard match to get up for, for a number of reasons but loved how they influenced the ref over Burnley's timewasting.

Davies showed his future in this squad is as a centerback imo.

Wasn't pretty but we never gave up, and gave Anti football Burnley exactly what they deserved.

Probably a bit tired?

Maybe but there were others who have played a lot more of late. His passing was reaaly poor, and his crossing even worse. Like I say, it's a shame because I thought he was somewhere close to his form of two seasons back on Tuesday.

Can't underestimate Llorentes role when he came on, situations like this are perfect for him coming on as a sub to unsettle the opposition, and is why I would keep him til the end of the season

Thought Rose was awful. I lost count of the amount of times he'd get into good crossing positions and wait an absolute age to get it into the box, meaning a player was there to block it

He was blowing out of his arse against Barca, at the end there were a couple of occasions where he was incapable of getting back.

Must've still been in the legs. First game back and all.

anyway bodes well having Davies fit and Rose coming back to fitness.

Exactly what I said to my mate...he had fuck all defending to do, but his crossing and general build up play was turd really.
Trippier wasn't much better.
Davies and Toby were ok.
Gotta be Eriksen mom really.

The overreaction on social media in games like today is so frustrating. Burnley came with one task - to sabotage, and I hate watching that sort of football but they did that bloody well for the most part.

But for a large chunk of fans on the internet, it's never about the opposition. No, it's all Spurs were shit, everyone played shit, Poch's selection and tactics were shit, Spurs got lucky.

We weren't shit, we deserved a win by two or three clear goals. We had off the top of my head five golden chances we should score, and we should've had a first half penalty, before the Greatest of Danes struck. We had all the play, mostly camped inside their half, and we picked open a very difficult lock several times before the goal, we were just wasteful.

I will single out one player for criticism, because how Rose can go from a superb game at Barca to this today I do not know. He's been consistently inconsistent since his injury hell and I hope he can sort it out.

But our makeshifts performed. Davies, alongside Toby, did a fine job against the sort of striker I thought he might struggle with, and was proactive with the ball. And Skipp had two minor hairy moments but I was really very, very impressed with him. He showed for the ball, he passed intelligently, and he wasn't fazed at all. He also made a noteworthy beautiful tackle that stopped a counter attack in the first half.

Poch again got his subs right, but it does help having Son and Eriksen to put on when you're chasing goals! I also thought Llorente had a good cameo, battled well and set Son up for what should have been a goal.

It's was in the end a job done, and that's always a good thing.

Birdie - Davies, Skipp, Eriksen, Toby
Par - The rest, except...
Bogey - Rose

This.

I was generally happy with the performance, given the conditions. I didn't think anyone had a poor game. We were not as clinical as maybe we could have been - but part of that is down to conditions, and Burnley's tactics - it was very crowded in front of the goal.

I would have liked to have seen Sissoko take a couple of those opportunities - but I am not going to slate him for passing. If he shot and missed he would have been slated for not passing.

Rose and Trippier both put in some decent crosses (yes I know many were blocked, and some were rubbish), but some of the crosses deserved better end product, or people crashing the far post.

Everyone pretty much did what they were supposed to do, we just could not get the ball past Hart until the very end.

Harry Kane is our best midfield player, that says alot about our midfield today. We have too many players who lacks awareness. They stand still trying to figure out their next action letting opposing team set up their defence
I would have thought at this level, The players must know what they want to do with the ball before it reaches them. Every game, i see FB to CB, CB to CB, CB to FB, FB to CB, CB to GK GK to FB, FB ignores the CM and rolls it back to CB. Why the f we need Jack Grealish again?

I don’t think I would go overboard about Davies at CB just based on today where he had little of an attacking threat to face. He had a good game . But Rose was dreadful, maybe nothing left after Tuesday. Davies will still be needed as a full back when our only other option is Rose.
