Just got back from the game, great to beat the time wasters!

Lloris 6 dodgy clearance

Trips 7 good outball to the wing
Toby 7 solid untested
Davies 7 did v well
Rose 5 poor

Skipp 7 perhaps adds more to Dier
Sissoko 6 not a game for him, tried but not creative enough

Lamela 7 added a bit but should have taken an opportunity to score
Alli 6 tried but added little
Lucas 6 same as Alli

Kane 7 did well to assist and tried throughout

Subs
Eriksen 8 well taken goal
Llorente 7 key part in creating the goal
Son 6 little impact

Our best performers were a 7.5 at best, again Trippier gets no love in what I thought was a good performance coming back in again. Had a hand in the goal, was solid back there and passed it well.

Thought Rose and Sissoko weren't great today, midfield generally seemed pretty poor despite having a lot of the ball.

Tbf to Rose, Dele and Sissoko, they must have ran marathons midweek.

I don’t think I would go overboard about Davies at CB just based on today where he had little of an attacking threat to face. He had a good game . But Rose was dreadful, maybe nothing left after Tuesday. Davies will still be needed as a full back when our only other option is Rose.
Of course for this season at least Ben will be needed at LB.

Burnley didnt offer that big of a threat, but I thought Davies was really impressive in the air which would always be my concern with him as a cb.

thought trippier was a bland 6 out of 10, final ball was below his standard and was slow in moving the ball.

no surprise our mf was a little poor when it's had to been pieced together with our 5th and 6th choice options.

I think I have to give it to Eriksen as he got the all important goal.

Sissoko played well again. Skipp did good, didn't do anything too spectacular and just kept it simple. Was always looking for the ball and didn't look out of place.

Rose was god awful, couldn't cross, could barely control the ball and was like we were playing with 10. Worst performance from him in a very long time.

people saying Rose garbage after he had his first competitive game in midweek on the biggest pitch in the world, running literally end to end for 90 mins with disrupted recovery time are possibly being a touch harsh. If we had another CB fit he wouldn’t have played

It’s one of those where performance was not important, 3 points the only thing to matter.

Has to be Eriksen, defence had little to do, Eriksen done what the midfield and attack for all their huff and puff failed to do, put the ball in the back of the net (Son and Lamela being the worst culprits) We need winners, he wins my vote today.

Thought Davies did great at centre back- positioning good, attacked the ball, v good.

Everyone was ok but perhaps Lamela and Moura have dropped off a little from earlier in the season. Rose was the only one visibly affected by playing in Barcelona- brilliant there but didn't have the energy to do it again (fair enough, after doing one of his runs down the line, I would need a lie down).

At least he made himself available despite having a poor game, where was Dele?

Maybe but there were others who have played a lot more of late. His passing was reaaly poor, and his crossing even worse. Like I say, it's a shame because I thought he was somewhere close to his form of two seasons back on Tuesday.
His crossing was actually largely great. A few balls on plates that no one moved for. Better crosses than his compatriot on the right flank today. He did well today IMO. The hate for him on this thread is very much off base.

My impression from the icy cold rain behind the goals was that we played fairly well against a very committed defensive set up. While there was a fair amount of sideways passing it was crisp and with purpose to try and break them down. I thought Sissoko was good - but perhaps a bit tired and with Skipp on debut more reserved than he has been which was a problem because his ability to drive through the stacked defence was something we needed today.

7's all round for me.

Eriksen (7+) my MOM
class above. Scored the winner.
From an H.Kane(7) assist again.
Rose (5) knackered I assume.
Trippier(6+) a good outlet.
Skipp (6+) solid, nothing outrageously good or bad.
Bonus point for being 18.
Sissoka (6+) could have scored a couple.
Davies and Toby OK(7)
but not under any pressure.
Dele(6) muted, Moura (6)a bit off, Lamela(6) not quite there.

Got the 3 points, stay in 3rd clean sheet
that'll do for me under the conditions.

Good on the Pochmaister for having faith
in the squads flexibility and depth.

Can't really judge them having had time to reflect

Davies and Toby did well with the very minor league 2 level threat
Both our Fullbacks were poor in attack

It was day after tomorrow freezing, the Wembley pitch is a disgrace and Burnley were a bigger disgrace for their 'tactics'

Last season Burnley did a job on us so it was no surprise they would try the same approach again. Credit to them for executing their plans to near perfection. No credit to them for such little appetite to win.

Al credit to Spurs players for pushing for the win to the last. Again this is teamwork which has shone through in recent matches as our greatest strength. With a game every three or four days and no let up the squad seems more determined and together than ever.

MOTM is hard to choose so will go with the goalscorer

Lloris 5 - Didn't have a save to make and gave them their best chance from open play with a bad kick.

Trippier 6 - Does some underrated passing in the final third. Much better when he's 30 yards from goal rather than near the byline.
Alderweireld 7 - Hard to judge the back four defensively given how poor they were. Key block at the start of the half.
Davies 7 - Good in a makeshift role.
Rose 6 - Mixed bad offensively. Some bad decision making and crosses, but then put in the ball for Lamela's second chance and a great volleyed cross in the first half that no one was alert to.

Skipp 6 - Had a bit of a nervy start but good afterwards.
Sissoko 7 - Created a couple of chances . Don't like having him as a RB during the build up.

Lamela 6 - Pretty good first half. Not so good second.
Alli 5 - Slowly Alli today. Done well for the goal.
Lucas 6 - Much better movement today. First half at least.

Kane 6 - Was good in the build up for us but didn't really get anything in the box. Should have had a penalty.

Yeah, have to give credit where credit's due. At the end of the day I never don't want any of our players to do well, even if I don't massively rate them like with Davies but I thought he was great in filling in at CB today. Trippier's crosses were poor today but he probably rarely has a game where he has as many poor attempts at deliveries as he did today. He made himself a good outlet on the right at least though and tried to make things happen. Plus he put in a few good down the line passes that created chances, one to Sissoko in particular that probably should have ended in something more.

Rose was very poor today, but it wasn't for lack of ability like I often find with Davies, it was his decision making that was terrible. Playing trickier passes when a simpler one was on, not getting his head up and looking at the best options when in an attacking position and just generally trying to force too much. It doesn't worry me though, he's barely played any football over the last year so these will hopefully be things that will pick up.

I'm still so unsure over Lucas, I just think he's not as influential as he should be. Someone like him should be overtaking players out wide or interchanging more effectively in the middle with Dele and Kane. Still think he positions himself in positions that almost make him hard to reach at times. I used to think a trio such as Lamela, Dele and Lucas would be lethal but now I look at that and the first thing I wonder is if we'll get enough from Lucas. Sounds harsh as he does chip in with a few goals to his credit but my view just stems from the fact that I think we could get more out of him. He should be scaring opposition defenders a lot more often IMO.
