Some of you just live to complain.

Against a stubborn bunch, I’ll take that. Everyone is knackered, with little rotation. I don’t know what some of you expected.

Look at the table, smile, and then settle in for Utd or go to the cinema.

O, MOTM to Sissoko. Cause why not.

Your just commenting for the sake of it.... Hugo save onto the post stopped us potentially being humiliated.... Cardiff at home with 10 men for most of the 2nd half should not end like it did. That was torture

Whatever sure if it makes us feel better, we were holding on with Hugo making save after save and being dominated in the last 10 minutes.

Phew we were so lucky

We were decent in our geenral play but so woeful in that final ball. Time and time again there were some good passing in the final 3rd outside the box but that last pass always...always could not connect to the finisher. Very frustrating.

No one played badly but none shone apart from Toby for the 2 last ditch clearances and Winks for his industrious and confident play.

Birdie - Toby, Winks
Par - everyone else

Boy did we make hard work of that, too slow, too much mucking about at the back which gave Cardiff confidence. 3 points but not impressive

My god we miss Eriksen. We had nobody on the pitch who has an iota of composure in the final third, not everything has to be played at a million miles an hour.

Was at the game, and yeah it was a bit odd. We lacked fluidity, especially in midfield. Winks was ok, but Dier was rather ineffective offensively.

No idea why some are saying Sissoko was ok, as he most certainly was not. He was shocking. Gave the ball away so many times, hides behind players, and looks scared shitless when he has to do anything smart with the ball. Those around me groaned when Poch subbed out Son instead of him... especially considering we had a one man advantage.

Rest of the team were just ok.

Special note about Lloris... I’m very worried to see him making boneheaded decisions on a nearly An every game basis now.

I wanted to kick in the TV screen in the 1st half I was that frustrated. Shocking muddled performance. We spent most of our time after scoring back pedalling, playing deeper and with no control in CM inviting pressure. Sideways passing between the back 4 and Lloris is the reason for 80% possession at one point in the game. We looked so devoid of any creativity it was pathetic to watch. There was no outlet to ease pressure, the whole team was on the back foot. No leadership. Lloris once again making stupid decisions. The second half showed some small improvement but we still toiled against ten men. In fact I doubt we would have won if Cardiff played the ninety with eleven on the field. We made Cardiff look like a top 6 side. Fucking dross. We didn’t deserve to win this game. Top 4 your having a laugh - we are stealing a living!

Really didn’t think Winks was particularly good, only slightly better than Dier & Sissoko. We were very lucky that we played Cardiff, anyone even half decent would have beaten us today.

One positive was that I started to see glimpses of the old Danny Rose, looked like some of his confidence was coming back.

So damn negative

Cardiff are a championship level side, and we should be putting 3 past a team that gives so much space away - even in their own box. Then they were down to 10, and no-one would have known as we did not make use of the extra man.
So our MOTM wasn't an attacking player, that's for sure.

Dier and Winks is a nice midfield pairing, and Dier did make the difference in the end, but I'd expect more against such poor opponents.

But Cardiff had grit and their goal was coming all game - that it didn't means someone was playing well.
So I gave it to Alderweireld as he was playing on his wrong side but was in the right place to mop up once or twice.

I assume you mean Eriksen of last season?

We've played 10 games this season. We've been flat in about 9 of the 10 games. We have become accustomed to good exciting, flowing and at times attacking play..no problem in winning ugly when its the odd game, However we have been absolutely boring in every premier league game and have played some good football in patches.

The one positive is that we within the top 4 even though we not at our best. We keep hoping that we've turned that corner but alas we stumble through from one game to the next and it's been that way from March month.

Was at the match and those saying Sissoko had a good game must be mad??

He gave the ball away numerous times, got in some dangerous positions just to cross to a Cardiff player, nearly cost us a goal by passing straight to a Cardiff player... the fans around me kept saying we are playing with 10 men and fully agree, he just runs and had nothing about him... awful player

Albeit, he wasn't the worst player on the pitch today, that reward is for Son.

As was stated in the match thread, he also enabled plenty of attacks.

It was clear to see today why Poch includes him in the side - he's the antithesis of Dembele in many ways, but some of them are actually of benefit when you see them as a part of a greater machine

Lloris - 6 - a good near post save and some dodgy passes, normal day at the office
Tripps - 6 - such great control and passing, real spurs - but got skinned too
Toby - 7 - my motm, a fantastic clearance and generally good game
Sanchez - 6- some good some bad, mostly good
Rose - 6 - energy and drive, a real attacking threat, got skinned too
Dier - 6- nicely taken goal, generally okay, better day at the office
Winks - 7 - getting better and more involved/positive with each game
Sissoko - 5 - some good/some bad, does not know what to do with a ball except pass it back to where it came from
Moura - 5 - Townsend with Maracas, got into good position and missed, always fades, a better impact sub
Son - 6 - some good dribbles, missed a good chance, kept to our pressing game, good running off the ball, got subbed for Lamela regardless, seems Poch decides his first 1 or 2 subs anf the minute before kick-off
Kane - 6 - played far too deep, had some shots, okay day at the office
Lamela - 6- face like deer on coke face, normal day at the office
Wanyama - net
Davies
- net
I disagree with Sissoko he didn't do anything wrong this game and I am normally critical of him. Played some great passes as well, so not sure what game you was watching.

Moura was my MoTM.

He may have looked a bit Aaron-Lennon-ish today, but he had the biggest impact on the game imo. He causes problems, draws players to him, draws fouls, creates chances and allows for the pace and counter we've begged for since Bale left.

He missed chances, but I don't think we would have had many if he hadn't played - and we certainly would have played 11 men for longer.
