i find it amazing that for a player of his age with his stats, there still seems to be a lot that he can improve on. With the ability that he has, id like to see him smashing teams like Cardiff all over the park as the great players (Messi, Ronaldo etc) tend to do rater than flouncing around as he did for much of the match last night.
So you want to see Dele do what the two greatest footballers of the past 15 years have done while playing for the best two sides on the planet?

Iniesta, Deco, Kaka, Pirlo, Eriksen, Modric, Seedorf, Sneijder, Gerrard, Lampard, Makalele. All great midfielders of very different styles with one major thing in common... at 22 not one of them was anywhere near the finished article or even particularly consistent.

agreed BBLG, thats why i referenced his amazing stats for his age. But to answer your question directly, yes, id like to see him show the same ambition and hunger against the lower teams as he does against the top ones just as the greats tend to do but im not complaining in the slightest as i realise that for his age (not to mention what we paid for him) hes performing WAY above normal expectations. To that point, im still drooling about his goal in the NLD as well as the touch that he took late in the game yesterday to get one-on-one with their goalie.

You know when I said there's a reason I omit Dele from some of my starting line-ups....

Anyway, he knows he had a stinker and was pissed off with himself when he came off.

He needs to learn to just do the simple things when his game is off.

Applied himself well throughout, though, and didn't let it demoralise him or slow him down.

Dele can do simple things but he is not simple. I Would hate for him to stop trying and be simple!! He’s a fantastic and unusual player , goal stats are crazy for an attacking mid . I really get cheesed off with so people that fail to understand what Dele Alli brings , the positivies greatly outweighs any negatives.

No point in going in depth as this was about as routine as you can get against a poor Cardiff team who gave us a helping hand for all three goals with some awful defending. In amongst the keep ball session we did play some slick stuff at times but it was far too easy. First half they tried to come out and engage us, and got ripped to shreds, second half they just retreated and tried to keep the score down, and really what was the point in chasing it? A nice stroll and minimal effort required to get back to winning ways.

Lloris - Made one routine save, had very little else to do in terms of his goalkeeping requirements. Played lots of keep ball with his centre backs.

Trippier - Was ok, but as ever a lot of his defensive reads and positioning drive me up the wall.

Sanchez - Fine. Saw lots of the ball.

Alderweireld - Ditto.

Rose - Was admittedly alert enough to defend the back post well two or three times when called upon, and was generally ok, but I thought he was a bit lackadaisical at times. You could tell he was really strolling it, but there were quite a few unnecessary silly little moments because of that.

Sissoko - Got about the pitch well and had involvement in the goals, but I thought he had a long spell of the game where he was quite sloppy on the ball.

Winks - Recycled the ball.

Eriksen - Just roamed about connecting play as, where and when he saw fit. Far too easy for him in all truth. Lovely disguised finish for the goal.

Alli - Second game in a row where you think he's been rushed back a bit early and not up to speed. Kept plugging away to his credit and looking for work but really just looked slow in everything he did and was often getting in the way and serving no purpose.

Son - Killed them with his movement first half in particular. His goal was aided quite a bit by the Cardiff defence, but another decent finish and adds to the tally and his momentum.

Kane - Decent first half, bundled in the opening goal that settled things down. Thought he turned it down quite early in the second half tbh and I'd have subbed him pretty early on.

Subs:

Skipp - Ok. Settled into the keep ball session.
Llorente - A couple of lay offs.

I must've watched a different game if you thought Shitoko was any good ! He back passed, lost the ball or passed to a marked player as in 'get rid' . The 'shot on goal' rugby conversion. Wouldn't want to rely on him to score. But rightly Alli had a bad game.
think this a case of mistaken identity, you must be referring to Trippier?
