Did anyone notice Skipp's first touch after coming on?
Dummied a forward a couple of yards off our D.
Arrogant as you like.

Why is there is so much analysis on Lamela? Lol

He only played one half and produced an assist. OK, a few things didn't come off but who really cares? We were awesome and he's had a good season.

Not much more to add but I was very very impressed with Skipp's cameo. Excellent use of the ball, looks very confident and technically great.

Sissoko was brilliant. A real power house of a box to box performance.

Just?

And yeah it pretty much does, Poch isn't gonna be losing sleep over the fact that Lamela lost and held onto the ball a few times when we were 3 goals in the lead and cruising, when in fact he made a positive contribution when he came onto the pitch.

Made a point of this earlier in the match thread

I've not said Poch would give a shit. And I totally agree with the fact he made a positive contribution with an assist.

He still played poorly though. Imo.

Because some people are dicks and love to bring one of our players down.

I had quite the laugh as I missed the game and read the reviews before watching expecting a poor performance but it ended up being that Lamela somehow being unspectacular made him stand out in a game where most of our players were phenomenal. He played perfectly fine and in any other game where we don’t score 6 away he probably gets rated very well.

Fer god's sake. The level of defensiveness over people thinking Lamela didn't play well is absurd. It's a review thread where posters give their opinion on player performance: good, bad and indifferent. If your bottom lip starts to tremble because not everyone thinks player X, Y, Z played as well as you thought he did, maybe steer clear.

Irony? If everyone is allowed to share opinion should those that didn't think he played badly have their say?

Tbh i didn't notice much from him so have no opinion either way.

I like the boy
but thought he was a bit slow
to release the ball at times
Otherwise his usual high octane
committed self
and got an assist (6+)
Other players (Son Dele and HK, Eriksen)
were sharper
especially for the goals.

Expect him to start on Boxing Day
an appropriate day for him

I fucking hate this kind of post.

This is a fans forum. This is where you discuss the performances of players.

Nobody is attempting to bring down one of our players. Nobody is being a dick.

Merry Xmas.

It's not the opinions; it's the defensiveness. So, yeah, straw man.

I know he wasn't sparkling but he was in action and causing randomness and breaking up play plus the clock was running down. I didn't gave a problem with his cameo

What a match at Goodison Park!
Excellent overall team performance.
Mostly everyone did very well.
Kane started out kinda slow, but eventually set the pace and showed his usual leadership qualities up front. Had some brilliant passes and scored a beaut towards the end.
Dele had a great game.
Eriksen and Son both produced very timely crucial goals to mentally impact the Toffees squad.
Never thought I would say this, but considering how great most of the boys were, Sissoko stood out for me as the MOTM. I think it was his most complete game of the season. What a tremendous job by Poch. Turning Sissoko into an absolute beast of a player.
He's become our box to box workhorse. The engine that drives the team. That defense splitting pass to set up the goal in 2nd half was sublime.
Sissoko 10
Everyone else 9!

I disagree. Happens all time. Fans forum or not., some players get it in the neck more than others over minor things. Merry Xmas back.

Lloris was okay, bit soft on Gylfi’s goal perhaps.

Trippier took a great free kick for Kane’s goal and played some lovely passes but was poor for Everton’s opener.

Alderweireld was fine, beautiful pass for Kane’s second and typically assured when mopping up throughout.

Sanchez did well, controlled the air and made strong tackles high up the pitch.

Sissoko was good, a battering ram in both directions. His ability to break lead to several good situations including that which Dele scored from.

Winks, involvement in the Walcott goal aside, played well, showed a decent range with his passing and brought the ball upfjeld a few timed with direct running,

The front four I’ll describe as a in one paragraph because they were all excellent and all scored, with the best aspect being their link up and cohesion. Kane’s hold up play and passing was at its best, Eriksen doctors the entire game and scored a worldy, Dele’s movement and responsibility on and off the ball was like a prime Gerrard and Son was man of the match with his pace, skill, endeavour and instinct being deciding factors in three goals.

Lamela was decent, yes he dallied a lot but he still made a goal and while he wasted a few good situations, he also managed to keep finding himself in those good situations. Key involvement in the excellent passing move four our sixth.

Skipp looked confident, dynamic and assured, albeit in relatively unproblematic environment.

Lucas had little to do by the time he entered.

It's nothing to do with Lamela, it's the OTT unnecessary criticism and the needless over analysing of our players which is a feature on here, I couldn't give a crap if it was Lamela or Llorente that came on - there's always something to complain about and people aren't happy unless they're moaning.

Merry Xmas :playful:
