I just can't understand why Ranieri took off Babel. They completely lost the threat after the sub. If he wanted to put Sessegnon on, just took off Schürrle

Not a great performance but a match saving/winning contribution from the boy wonder (see DC's Titans for details ;) )

Too many players not at the races until we scored.

Sanchez contributed to them getting into the game first half when he was easily rolled by Babel and but for a decent save from Lloris would have been one down. He also has a tendency to head the ball under little pressure straight back to opposition. However he certainly grew into it, and when Mitrovic made it personal he went from strength to strength.

Trippier, lots of negatives in his performance today, safe and sideways mainly (or not so safe)

Jan and Toby, fine.

Rose, battled all day, never gave up , no great quality into the box or passing, but kept at it and was always an outlet willing to commit his man.

Winks (MoTM) Thought he was the best player on the pitch from start to finish (and oh what a finish :joyful:) in similar positions to Eriksen, he had more courage to take a touch and turn or move us forward, also used the ball quicker than most around him.

Eriksen, thought he took the easy option far too often today, when receiving the ball in space he just popped it backwards when he should be taking responsibility to create in these games.

Alli, frustrated the fuck out of me, his slow limbs just dawdling on the ball when we need to be moving it quicker is v annoying. however he took his chance well. and got into the position to take said chance.

Lamela, it was headless chicken Lamela today, on different wavelength to teammates and too often the first time pass didn't come off.

Llorente. ah dear. You could see he was gutted at the OG, and that probably contributed to the other poor stuff he did. can't be easy coming in from the cold at 33, but still he should have the mentality to shut out what's gone before and get control of a football.

Dier, played inside right o_O and didn't contribute much TBH, however when he went centrally he calmed things down a bit.

GKN, Like Son he plays with a smile and he'll put a few smiles on our faces if he carries on putting in balls like that.

My MOTM was Vertonghen tonight. Always solid, made a couple of crucial tackles/interceptions and was nice to see him getting a bit further up the pitch when he could

Thought Rose was an absolute warrior today from the kick off! Had a sense of urgency that was lacking in other areas of the team especially first half. My MOTM. How he got booked for "simulated" simulation...and how that Christie guy escaped two yellows beggars belief!

This team scraps to the absolute end, which I love! Having our front line and CMs ravaged like we have, and suddenly trying to play in a completely unfamiliar system with a rusty Llorente as a figurehead was always going to be a huge challenge. We came through it again, but still at a critical cost.

Alli gone down now, following a familiar pattern of injuries short and long term in key squad areas. We're top 4 challengers, could have been title challengers, and still in 3 cup competitions; lack of needed squad investment is taking, and will continue to take its inevitable toll.

Kudos to Poch and the team for fighting and getting the result we deserved in the end. Don't want to be too hard on Trips, who has been key for us plenty of times in the past, but it's clear he's been in a real poor run of form recently.

It's not just a case of his weaknesses being found out; he's dealt with those in the past and adjusted his game accordingly to help the team. Right now, it's not working, both defensively and in attack, and it's critical in the way we play. Be good to see KWP, and Aurier when fit, get some game time.

MotM was between Winks and Rose for me...up until the goal.

Rose did well down the left all game, while Winks started off a lot of our attacks with an intelligent run (something that we otherwise lack without Dembele or Sissoko on the pitch).

Lloris - 8 Saved us today
Toby - 8 Rock at the back
Sanchez - 5 Bullied by Mitrovic
Jan - 6 Decent but not at his best yet
Trippier - 10 Brilliant today. Absolutely brilliant. Best RB ever. Amazing at the back.. Excellent player.
Winks - 8 Game winner. Played well
Eriksen - 6 Thank god someone took my advice at half and chartered a jet to bring him back from Spain for a few more months
Rose - 8 MOTM. By far our best LB.
Dele - 6 Meh performance but got the equalizer. We are also fucking screwed if hes done for a bit.
Lamela - 5 Not his best at all but getting back into fitness
Llorente - 5 Yikes

Dier - 7 Missed you
GKN - 8 Took the chance and ran with it. Way to make an impact, GKN. Well played.

Im switching it up and will just praise a player to no end until hes finally dropped

Just on way back from the game and would go for Rose but I thought Verts was very good bring the ball out from left CB. We were pretty blunt up front and whilst I’m not one of these people who says “put in the mixer” without a degree of mocking irony, that was how both goals came and plays to one of Llorente’s strengths.

I felt we were poor in allowing them too many chances but going forward we lacked movement and invention. With the mitigation of missing players that’s all the more reason to quite frankly put it in the mixer and bit more.

The scout from the Dog and Duck has asked to speak to Llorentes agent, as their striker Bobby the Plasterer hurt his wrist in work and they feel Llorente is a like for like replacement.

Lloris deserves and mention but rose gets it for for me purely due to mentality. Drive forward and always tried to have a go. Solid aggression going forward and backward.

Winks was trying to facilitate all game too, many of his little darting runs which annoyingly were sideways but showed willing.

While llorente is getting a bashing he was winning stuff in the air. I know he's not great so I'm more disappointed with llamela, dele and especially trips. None were hitting it early or playing off him effectively. A bit like some of the redknapp games were you saw us pass it side to side for no real reason

Just watched the goal again, Winks starts in our defence and busts a gut to get in the box in the 93rd minute, full credit.
