Despite Saturday's heroics, this was never going to be an easy game. After all Italian clubs are the Masters of and have fine tuned the art of defensive play.

Is it official yet that Sissoko is an integral member of our squad? Because I am giving him MOTM for as far as I am concerned he made that goal!

Well done lads

Signing of the season Moussa Sissoko! Thank god we got rid of Moussa Sissoko and brought in a much better player!

Glad to see others agreed sissoko was MotM. Was a bit nervous picking him. Delighted for him. He's clearly been touched by the poch magic in training.

Captains performance from Sissoko, looks like we might have gotten the final laugh on Newcastle.

If he can maintain this he'll help us win something this season, that's how good he has been. what a exciting alternative reality

Nervous? He created the goal with a powerful run, and dumped it off before trying to do too much. He is a man playing within himself these days - doing what he does well, and not trying to be tricky.

As a side note - he might have the best footballing brain on the pitch. He truly understands the game well - even if he lacks the technical skills to pull off a lot of close-quarters ball movement.

Two songs. He is Magic you Know, Mauricio Pochettino. Who needs Bale when you've got Sissoko. And the second song justifies the first song

Lucas very poor tonight. He’s definitely a hot and cold type player.
His movement is very poor. Until that improves he should be playing second fiddle to Son. Son can be frustrating on the ball, but he's always moving and that causes defences problems.

Sissoko for me. So pleased for him. Winksy worked his nuts off. Great save from Hugo too. Eriksen brought a nice bit of composure to the party and Verts slotted back in seamlessly.

Pochettino is a magician. He's gone out and managed to do the impossible with Sissoko, turned that bumbling lump into an integral player for us in a role he excels at. Truly incredible
