Funny how much stick Davies is getting. Thought he was rather solid, especially later on when we were seeing the game through.

Just some stats for some context:

Clearances- 2/ Interceptions-2 / Tackles(won)- 9(8)/ Dribbled Past- 0/ Duels(won)- 18(13)/ was fouled-1/ fouls-1 Accurate passes-71% Key Passes-1
Source

Looks like he really got stuck in well and held his own defensively, while also setting up Auirier for a free header the back post and played a big part in Dele's goal.

While of course if we are to seriously challenge for titles and silverware we need a more athletic LB, but as a backup Davies always puts his best foot forward.

Easy target. the weight of that fizzed pass was perfect, took out two men and left Moura running towards goal in acres.

Was solid whole game for me gave Gray nothing, and his passing weight and timing is often overlooked.

Hugo.........7+.........Did what a keeper mans gotta do with minimum fuss.
Aurier.......5............Not convinced yet. Me or him.
Toby.........7+..........Solid as a rock but more mobile.
Verts.........7+..........Partnership re-established. A match made in Belgium
Davies......6+...........Did OK.
Sissoko.....7.............Strong presence but lacks that bit of quality in sight of goal
Winks.......6+...........Lively but nothing really outstanding.
Dier..........7.............Not today. Did his job competently.
Moura......6............Mobile and quick but never quite where the action is.
Son..........8.............Scored a beauty and made one with calm. Like him
Dele.........8+...........MOM. Stepped up today. Took control. The New Dele.
................................Bit like the Old Dele but with added responsibility.

Good to see KWP given some minutes. Not sure why HK and CE had to come on.
But at least Mauricio is plotting his way through a difficult period of the season.
Still the top team in London.
Workmanlike win. Nice goals and solid defending No scares or alarums.
Blood pressure steady.

Son or Dele.

Jesus, the difference having Toby and Jan together at the back again though... solid.

Dele Alli was a class above the rest imo, It was only Leicester but what a player we have in Dele Alli as for the goal like Son's it was class

This was one of my favourite performances of the season. We went away to a bit of a bogey side, a side for whom there is a good claim to being the ‘best of the rest’ in the premier league, and a side who’d not lost in their previous 5 league matches... and we dominated. Our performance was organised, controlled, patient but with some slick moves and several moments of individual brilliance, and we appear to be at the stage where we can go to most sides, merely maintain discipline and trust that our quality will shine through. Even with a rotated, injury ravaged side we just had too much for a good Leicester side.

Lloris only had the routine to deal with, and dealt with it routinely.

Aurier was up and down quite well, gave us width and it was his determination and calmness to pick a pass which presented Son with sight of goal for the opener.

Alderweireld and Vertonghen, as a pair, were superb. Dealt with crosses easily, ensured nothing went Hugo’s way other than hopeful pot shots.

Davies was solid, kept his flank safe but did little doing forward.

Dier was good. Harshly booked early on, he played with his head up mostly and protected the defence well.

Sissoko gave a full box to box performance, breaking well but also tackling back nicely. Sadly no end product on a couple of occasions.

Winks, as has become habit, grew into the game after a slow start. The odd sloppy pass but generally used the ball crisply and with purpose. Was nice seeing him join the attack a few times.

Lucas battled away, ran at Leicester when he could and chased relentlessly. Has very few openings of space. One outrageous piece of control.

Dele was my motm, this was like watching Rivaldo, a complete attacking midfield performance. Flair, composure, vision and a nice goal. Tracked back well too.

Son was great. Wonderful finish for his goal, great composure to make Dele’s. Leicester couldn’t live with him.

KWP cameo’s well, showed bite.

Kane held the bsll well and gave us a good outlet.

Eriksen hit a couple of lovely passes and kept Leicester pegged back.

Feel the marking is a bit harsh on Davies, his ball to Lucas for Deles goal was sublime, not a flashy performance, but very solid.
I think people are always fairly harsh on him as we were blessed a couple of years ago with walker and rose as full backs. We compare Davies to that standard.
He’s always pretty solid and reliable in my opinion.

Sissoko had another great game.

Poch knows how to use sissoko now. Even by sissoko's standard, his first touch and passing was still very poor tonight. But he was having a good match because of his defensive works and transition works. Strange player, but he is useful now

Sissoko has been useful to us ever since we signed him but lots of people either don’t or didn’t see it or chose not to

No, he wasn’t. He got stuck out wide right in the three behind the striker and he was about as much use as a chocolate teapot whilst he was getting chalk on his boots.

The poor performances effected his confidence and touch - and he’s done bloody well to come back from it this season.

Tricky tie away from home, Vardy or no Vardy. Generally, good all round. Alli is growing as a footballer, maturing and showing leadership skills. He was fulfilling so many roles all over the pitch yesterday. Motm easily for me.

Loved our approach at breaking up any attacking momentum they tried to get going. That seemed to be Poch's approach, and a wise one, considering we rested Kane and Eriksen.

I thought Sissoko was immense, tireless at tracking back, cutting off passing lanes, driving forward with and without the ball to keep their AMs and wingers wary of their attacking remits. We really need a Bob Marley "Redemption Song" chant for him if someone can create one. It would be fitting.

Verts and Toby solid as a rock. Full backs not entirely convincing, but did enough. Winks started slow and off the pace like most of the team today, but soon clicked into gear and helped control our midfield and took up different positions to do this; driving from deep, and sometimes moving forward and taking up offensive positions.

Sonny came through again with two pieces of attacking genius. The shift, movement for space and then the great shot for his goal, and the sublime weighted cross for Alli's header .

Moura couldn't get anything going offensively, but his tireless running and movement were instrumental in stopping Leicester building attacks from their defence and distributing the ball effectively from those positions.

Biggest takeaway, apart from the little need to mention Lloris, was we can rest Kane and Eriksen, and still craft a gameplan and result. Resting Kane in particular is especially important. Think if Poch does this judiciously over the season, we'll reap the dividends with an energized, unplayable Kane when it matters.

Son for me. Scored one and put the other on a plate for Alli (who ran him close). Shout out to Sissoko too who covered every blade of grass.

Am surprised at the high Winks (5) scores , thought he was largely ineffective against struggling opponents . Good point from BBLG re SC regular punchbag , Aurier(6) , having the skill to slip the ball to Son for his goal .

We did well without Kane and Eriksen I thought . Its taken me a while to fully appreciate Dele(9) with his frequent turning over of possession in the past , but these last 2 games have been just superb . He could turn the Barca game our way in this form .
Him, Sonny(8) and Moura(6.5) did well .

Our press was back ,everyone worked hard to get the ball back ,so its well done to the team/staff .
