No it wasnt, it was Chadli not tracking the runner, watch it again, Chadli just strolls and watches it all happen in front of him, his reaction tells you he's fucked up too.

Then dier watches it stroll millimetres away from his foot

It was a very hectic game Liverpool pushed on to our 2 DMs and then were fairly direct into the ST We eventaully sorted it We played some good football and some poor

Still things to iron out in the general pattern of play but given that they have run through us in the past 3 games we kept our nerve did not capitulate and stayed in the game

In hindsight I think we should have been a little less adventurous early on but conceding didnt help

Moussa played well A lot played well in patches Perhaps just 2nd best tonight but still encouraging

I still think we should try Dembele in CM. He was amazing in holding onto the ball and pass it to a teammate and he also seemed to be our strongest midfielder. I just don't think he creates or scores enough as a CAM. He did today, with his cock, but he can't seem to score in open play. I thought we would have looked better today with him in CM.

Biggest positive I can get out of tonight is that Dembele may well have saved us a Summer signing. Extremely impressed with him in his last 3/4 games. He seems so much happier and more comfortable when he doesn't have to worry about his defensive duties like he would in a midfield 2.

Good lad.

People need keep their feet on the ground. Bentaleb and Mason are going to have bad games, they're learning their trade at this level. This is what you get from a young side.

Almost the complete opposite of my post. He isn't made for a midfield 2.

As a whole it was a spritied performance at Anfield. A draw would've been a fairer result....hate losing especially to Liverpool...they always seem to get faulky pens.

Pochettinho has to look at us defensively three goals conceded again to them although at least we put up a decent fight if we're gonna lose we went down fighting didn't just take our medicine.
I have my theories where our problems lie yes his been playing much better of late but I feel Vertonghen lacks a certain knack to the art of CB play.

Lloris 6 first goal could do better the pitch 6 yard box was a bit uneven.

Walker7 has to stop racing and nip problem better the bit of defending with Can was typical Walker.

Dier 6.5 decent pace ok

Vertonghen 5.5 should do better

Rose 6 hands full with Ibe

Bentaleb 6.5 ok in most parts gave the ball away a couple of times.

Mason 6 worked hard off the ball likewise should be more careful gave away the ball in vital positions.

Lamela 7 only if when he starts scoring super assist for Kanes goal.

Eriksen 7 good game put a lot of effort into the game

Dembele 7 he scored.

Kane 7. Well taken goal the movement leading to the goal was excellent.

Subs never effected the game

I can't post a vine of it but take a look. Dier pulls out when he should be sticking that in row z

Dier isn't as quick as superman, your planting this on him but the whole move shouldn't have happened, Dier isn't psychic either he's just trying to hold with Mario and see where the play goes, absolutely no pressure or tracking from Chadli (and i like Chadli, defended him to the hilt last season)

Watch it again and then come back to the thread.

Disagree. Whilst he doesn't score enough, that is true. He actually has to make less decisions playing higher up, than he does deeper. And decisions is where his game is at his weakest. He's been very good since being moved forward, and gives Kane some physical help up there.

We've had about 2 seasons or so of Dembele in CM and he has been effective in odd games here and there, but since taking up the CAM position he is showing us performances we all know he is capable of. Also Lamela has trouble holding ball up and Eriksen can too at times, so good to have one of the three to do it and to do it so easily

Have you been watching the last 2 years? Mousa doesn't move the ball quick enough in the 2, it's a well trodden bath and we know where it leads

We have serious problems both getting balls in from wide and defending from wide. Our fullbacks rarely put in a good ball or they get cut out; whilst for all the pace they also have, they let in so many

I think we did for ages and it wasn't that impressive.

His primary task in CAM to is not to create/score, it's to hold onto that ball and use his weight and size high up the pitch - it suits the high press by helping to retain possession deep in the opponents half. CAM works for him and his team-mates.
