These 70 who voted Dembele MOTM please elaborate to me.

For me I thought he was poor as the rest in the first half. Yes he made some interceptions but he also lost multiply balls and setting Liverpool up for a counter by taking a touch to much. Against Liverpool you need to be quick thinking and not take 4 touches everytime you have the ball like Eriksen/Winks etc - against the press they do. Also we insisted on playing out from the back, which is just pure LOVE in Liverpool eyes.

I’ll try and explain it to you.

You need players who are comfortable and composed receiving the ball back to goal and have the ability to manoeuvre it to beat the the press, release pressure and get them facing there own goal. Dembele does that better than anyone here and probably anyone in the devision.

I like Winks and he’s got some potential but imo what you would of saw from him yesterday would of been a lot of passes back to where they came from inviting pressure. Until he shows that ability to take the ball on the halfturn and look after it consistently then he will struggle to go up a level.

This is my issue with releasing the ball early cliche that gets churned out all the time. That doesn’t make you a good midfielder/player. Anyone could just stand at the base of the midfield and knock it back first time, that doesn’t help build a performance or platform to control a game.

Also I don’t remember him losing the ball multiple times. Have you got the numbers for that?

That makes you Right angle Ray or David Batty. Beasts like Moooooooosa are a one off. Anyone who doesn't comprehend what he brings to the partee has a very limited understanding of Football.
