How can Kane be tired from the very first minute? He's always tired, superb form plot armour for him

If it was fatigue then he'd fade early in games and not be non existent from the start unless he has an injury then the entire club is a clown outfit for playing him

Is it taboo to call a spade a spade and just admit he's been shite recently like several others

Vorm: minus infinity. Absolute joke of an attempt for both goal. Gets a +1 for a couple of the saves but fuck me he cost us today.

Trippier and Rose: 4. Offered zero protection to Jan and Toby.

Jan and Toby: 6. Not as calm as usual. Probably because of the above 3 mongrels today.

Dier: 2. Did he even complete one pass today? Worst I've seen him play for a while.

Dembele: 5. Average. Made some very good runs in the first half driving with the ball and was key to our improved 10 minutes. Did it see him until he went off in the second half.

Eriksen: 3. usually our key. Think he could do with a game off.

Winks: 5. Not fit enough. Some of his stuff was positive but by and large he wasn't great.

Lucas: 7. Tried hard. Should have scored when he hit the outside of the post. The one bright light in a shower of shite.

Kane: 3. Give the guy a break. He looks absolutely fucked. I don't remember him even touching the ball in their box save the header towards the end.

Lamela: 7. Was very good when he came on. Beautifully taken goal too.

Son: 6. Should have had a pen. Not much else.

Wanyama. NET. Came in 81 minutes too late.

Vorm 5 - Bad for the two goals. Some decent saves but the damage had been done.

Trippier 5 - Defending for the second goal was poor and had a few other moments of bad defending in the 2nd half.
Alderweireld 7 - Without him or Vertonghen it would have gotten out of hand quickly. Some great one-on-one defending.
Vertonghen 7 - As above
Rose 6 - He (and Trippier) will probably get criticism for being too high up the field, but that's the management's fault. Both him and Trippier were set up to fail in that respect.

Winks 5/Dembele 5/Dier 4 - Gonna comment on all these together. Neither were good (Dier in particular was bad) but they're being asked to do an impossible task when the opposition have the ball. On the ball they were all poor. Dier has never been good at receiving the ball under pressure facing our goal, so it was no surprise he struggled massively. Dembele used to be great at it, but Liverpool often have his number and he's too inconsistent lately to be relied upon. Winks has to be better at it if he's gonna be a regular, but wasn't going to be easy in his first start in ages. This game just emphasised why we should have spent big money on this area.

Eriksen 5 - Wasted in the number 10 role in this formation. Can't find space because we're so narrow, and isn't someone who's good with receiving the ball with his back to goal with people close. Ending up using our best passer as a channel runner.

Lucas 7 - Only bright spark offensively of the starters. Worrying we've been reliant on him doing something great himself. Encouraging that he was good when moved out wide. Hopefully it'll convince Poch to end the two up front experiment (doubtful).
Kane 5 - Nope.

Lamela 7 - If we've going to stick with a 4312, which I hope we don't, then he deserves a go in the No.10 role.
Son 6 - Should have done better at the end. Didn't really have any major impact on the game.
Wanyama 5 - Only on for a few minutes and was terrible.

I gave it to winks as it was a tough game to return from injury.
He had lots of energy and was positive, so lets hope he stays fit.

I want to see a lamela-son-moura front 3 with dele--wanyama-eriksen behind them. A proper 433.

It wont happen though because that means the prodigal son gets to sit on the bench.

But this will be a very dynamic and fluid team with lots of movement and skills, ala Liverpool's front 3.

We might not have a top scorer at the end of the season but collectively these 3 will score plenty of goals

Poor from nearly all of them today, but my biggest gripe is it was yet another formation change. Is that 5 games and 4 different systems now? We need to get some sort of consistency going, and the constant changes are causing nothing but problems IMO.

Good sides let the opposition worry about them not the other way round.

It is obvious that lucas appears to be our freshest and brightest player. Hoofing long balls to him was a disgrace but second half he was the only outlet.

Lamela was good when he came on. Son was only on for the 20 mins.

As soon as they scored the second, fuck it even at half time I'd have made the Son and Lamela changes.

It's difficult to rate the others because how can we have a go when they're so fatigued. I also think tactically we were shocking

Vorm 5 - two blunders for the goals, but got little protection and made three or four decent saves to avoid an embarrassing rout!
Trippier - 6 - one of our better platers creatively, but Mane repeatedly got in behind him (I blame the tactics rather than our FBs though).
Toby - 5 - Sloppy slow passing throughout invited needless pressure. Not helped by a clueless CM trio in front of him.
Verts - 5 - Same as Toby.
Dier - 4 - Looked hapless in midfield and a lot slower and more ponderous than others. HIs disastrous back pass almost gifted them an opener.
Rose - 5 - Defensively always out of position. Offensively didn't offer much at all.
Dembele - 5 - Another one who looked like he was exhausted and just couldn't pick out a team mate.
Winks - 5 - Seems to have the ability to make the ball bobble up around his shins when in possession. Looked 'keen' but struggled. Should have come off much earlier (or not been on at all - I blame Poch for this).
Eriksen - 6 - Seems out of form and couldn't get into the game.
Moura - 7 - Our best player (with Lamela) but looked like he was playing on his own. Only one who seemed to want to press and harry and compete.
Kane - 4 - He is badly out of sorts and does not look anywhere near fit. Needs a rest. And then a pre-season. Currently he does not press, cannot escape defenders, and does not get any shots off.
Lamela - 7 - Should have been on much earlier. He presses, he wants the ball, he wants to hurt teams.
Son - 6 - Didn't get long enough to do much but we were better with him on.

Poch - 4 - Not sure what he tried to do in the first hour, but we were so poor and Winks/Dembele/Dier in CM just did not work. We looked a different side when Lamela and Son came on. I think when we are at our best we have three aggressive attackers who press collectively behind Kane. I've not seen us play with any urgency all season, and the press seems to have been long forgotten by Poch. Liverpool looked fitter, faster, keener, and more organised than us, and deserved to win by 3 or 4 at least.

I thought that Moura and Lamela gave a fuck everyone else looked tired and disinterested. Gazzaniga should have played. Vorm should go, what a shit goalkeeper. Tbf Liverpool weren't that good themselves but at least they gave a shit. I thought Milner was m.o.m. today.

Vorm 5: a bit of a mixed bag, made some really good saves, but also fucked up twice and that first goal is just a killer. I actually thought we were on top until Vorm made that mistake. His hands are too flappy...

Jan 7: Good game and by far our best defender. Not many mistakes and often have to fix others.

Toby 5: Woeful passing, not sure if any of his long balls connected with a teammate. His first long pass summed up his game, where he underhit it so much that i started a counter attack for Liverpool.

Rose 4: His first touch and passing was so bad. Also looks slower, didn’t get much to the byline. I’m not sure if he can even get past a defender at this point in his career.

Trippier 4: Got beat by Mane and wasn’t in the game much either. Had a good pass to Eriksen down the right, but not much else. Also made a horrible pass to set up Liverpool. His set pieces were also bad.

Dier 2: That fucking back pass summed up his game. He just can’t handle pressure. Very limited with the ball. We see it time and time again that if the opponent puts pressure on him he will give the ball away in dangerous situations. Didn’t offer enough protection this game either.

Dembele 3: Didn’t protect the ball like he usually does. Lost it in the same way that he did against United in the FA Cup. Offered zero going forward.

Winks 3: The last man in the Bermuda Triangle. He should have been the best passer of the three, but he failed at getting the ball forward. His passing is so simple and that’s fine if he can get it to our offensive minded players, but he failed at that with even the simplest of passes. He was clueless when he got into the last third of the pitch.

Eriksen 6: I don’t think Eriksen had a bad game like others think. He didn’t lose the ball as much as last game and was one of the few players that created and moved the ball forward. Zero happened for us this game unless Eriksen came deep to pass the ball out of our midfield. Had a bad header backwards, but also a good corner. Seemed to link up good with Lucas and when Lamela and Son came on. Surprisingly enough not that well with Kane.

Lucas 7: Our best player this game. I love how direct he is and always tries to take on his man if he is in a good 1v1 position. Like Son, but he is a better dribbler(worse finisher though). Very involved and active. Looks much more confident than last season. Close to scoring twice, still not sure what his best position is, because i though he was much better on the wings this game.

Kane 3: Not a good game. One of the few where he was invisible. I almost forgot he was still on the pitch in the second half. Isolated, but didn’t do well when he came deeper either. His passing was off all game. Feels like he has lost a step. He is usually “deceptively” quick at getting seperation from defenders. It’s imo one of the reasons why he isn’t shooting as much. Because he has trouble getting seperation to get his shot off. Looked and looks much more stationary than the Kane we know. Like many of his goals have been him getting a step on his defender to get his shot off, but he just doesn’t seem to be able to do that this season. Maybe his injury have done more to his body than we know. It just seems a bit weird.

Subs: Lamela did good and should soon start. Good finish and was positive coming on. Should have been on earlier when it was 0-1. Son also did good in that little time he had. Wanyama was on too few minutes to really make an impact.

Poch 2: Too much tinkering, afraid of liverpool and played 3 CMs that had no business playing together. One thing is trying with them, but another much more serious mistake is not changing it when it clearly isn’t working. I still have no idea why he waited until we where behind 0-2. Poch in game management is abysmal. Also still have no idea how to defend against crosses. How about hiring a set piece coach...

At least we only have to wait a few days before our next game and a break from the Premier League is probably good for us fans.

Our central midfield is just a vortex of utter incompetence and mediocrity - little in way of protection of the back four, no control of tempo and zilch in terms of creativity and transitioning quickly.

This isn't just a coaching issue, it's a personnel problem and this was glaringly apparent in the summer.

This is a lot more than just a bad day at the office....

No idea why Poch didn't spot the massive gaps left by Rose and Trippier playing so far up the pitch (yet providing next to nothing in attack). Klopp also exploited our faffing around when playing from the back as well which piles pressure on us. We are really poor when we get pressed like that and have been for a long time and I lost count of the number of times our players couldn't find a pass which just seems like laziness off the ball. Very sloppy and lethargic all round really but Moura had a bit of fire so my MOM.

Hey guys - this one is on me. I have a lucky shirt I wear for the matches. My daughter came downstairs after the match was over and asked: "Daddy, why is your shirt inside out?"

So, it turns out the players were not the only ones still asleep at the start. I'll try better next time.

Real toss up between Lamela and Lucas. I gone with Lucas cos he played from the start and had to put up with all the shit around him and still tried to make a difference.

Poch needs to stop playing 3 laid back players in Dembele, Dier and Winks. Lamela should be starting cos he will press

I was going to give you a wtf rating.... But it just makes sense right now to drop Kane for a few games

Has to be Lucas. Loved it in the second half when he encountered the fans to get behind the team. Wembley really hurts us as far as the atmosphere is concerned; I look forward to being back home purely in the hope we can make the place a cauldron of noise

The biggest indictment of Kane’s form at the moment is that there isn’t much difference to his play from a 33-year-old Llorente.

Some of my observations

Our midfield only play back passes. My grandpa can also play as a CM for spurs.

Playing against us is easy, because we become mannequins when we have the ball. I cry for Lucas when he attempt an intelligent pass and Trippier was like..what??

Our players except for Son, Lucas, Lamela,Toby and Vert are shit passers who can only make passes to static players.

Trippier is not a world class fullback, i told you so. Aurier pleasseeeeeeee. Danny Rose has always been shit..even before he was injured

We continue with more backpasses even though we are chasing the game

Now you fuckers know how good Lloris is

Our players should learn from Liverpool how to attack and run into space.

This not from the pool game but nonetheless, When we are 1 nil up, we always behave like idiots and give the ball cheaply. For some reasons instead of backpasses, we will start hoofing the ball.
