Kane - NET - not the right substitution for me

Really? I thought Kane did exceptionally well when he came on and didn't put a foot wrong apart from at the end when he knocked it out. Really worked hard to close united down at the back and as soon as he came on put pressure on their defence (i.e when he charged down Evans who kicked it out). At the time we were really under the cosh and those little things really helped ease the pressure a little. Soldado had run his shift so it was definitely the right sub for me (albeit a risky one).

I really do like TS' faith in our youngsters.

I was going to go for Ade, until the last 20 minutes under the cosh when our defence was solid. Chiriches really impressed today. Superb positioning and timing with the tackle. So he nicks it for me.

Webb had a good game too..,.., Especially since many of us expected the usual Utd bias.

Not got a bad thing to say about any of the lads today, i'm going to sit back with a cheeky grin and enjoy the win.

Lennon MOM. Followed by Ade.

Dembele though was nowhere to be seen, a huge contrast to the last game. He coulve and shouldve done more IMO

And Sherwood was damn lucky. The substituions were poor and too risky.

But a win's a win. At OT makes it even sweeter. I love my Spurs.

Great result today. I thought everyone put in a good shift today, except Rose. He looked out of it, probably lacking a bit of sharpness due to injuries and both Valencia and Januzaj gave him a hard time.

Losing Ade could be a blow, hopefully he's ok. I've really enjoyed watching him and Soldado together, they really do connect well.

So do I but while I think Soldado probably should have come off I think a forward player with more defensive qualities would have been more appropriate, Lamela would have played more like Ade and been all over the place but I do rate Kane highly and think he could be with us for many years... After all, he's already cleverer than Defoe as he knows the offside laws

Lloris - 7.5 - very good moments but too much lucky moments. But waaaaaay better than Gomes

Walker - 8
Chiriches - 9 - awesome performance
Dawson - 8 - hats off, 100% , of course a few dodgy balls but with his limitations well done
Rose - 6 - had big problems.

Capoue - 8 - job done
Dembele - 8 - not so much dribbling around but his presence is good
Lennon - 8.5 - not too much Evra destroying and he should have scored, but a great game aside from that. especially in defense
Eriksen - 8.5 - very good. thats integrating to Premier League

Adebayor - 9 - what a man. Hopefully not out for long
Soldado - 7 - two/three great passes, but still needs the goal from open play

Bentaleb - 6.5 - i watched him and in a few moments you saw he isnt there yet, but still some nice clean passes .
Chadli - 6.5 - good work
Kane - 7 - see Bentaleb not there yet but some good touches and his shot in offside position was genious.

THANK YOU LADS!!

I think you're being slightly unfair on Kane. I don't know whether he will make it with us but that to oneside I thought he did a great defensive cameo. In fact I doubt many would have been as effective as him in that short space of time. There's no way Lamela would have provided a wall in which Evra couldn't get round. There was also a massive header he went for which again just wasted those few seconds. Oh and that bit of control from a long punt from LLoris (I think) which was sublime.

Edite and as above that bit of wasting time when offside was genuis I agree!

Subs were excellent imo. Well pleased with Sherwood. It's been two years since a spurs manager picked the same line-up as one of mine in the pre-match thread, nearly choked on a sausage roll when I read it. Got the lead and swapped on Bentaleb for Capoue as we needed fresh legs in the middle and Bentaleb offers better distribution. Ade injured so a strong, classy midfielder on in the no.10 spot to offer more solidity than a direct replacement but keeping an attacking outlet available to relieve pressure. Kane on for Soldado because Kane is better at holding the ball up and Soldado likely tired. Can't ask for much more!

Finding it difficult to split Chiriches and Eriksen but I have to give man of the match to Vlad given he way playing in between Dawson and Rose. Rose was abysmal today and Dawson is Dawson, but Vlad managed to keep it all together with an absolute masterclass in defending. The goal we did concede was so poor defensively and Vlad does have to take some of the blame for that, but other than that he didn't put a foot wrong all game, he did absolutely everything right. I couldn't quite believe how bad Rose was today, I hope he was just not fit because it was worrying. United picked up on it big time and not only played everything out to their right winger, but also started getting two players wide right to just tear him to pieces, and it was working.

Going forward, Eriksen was brilliant. He and Soldado used the ball so well and Adebayor played well enough too, but he really needs to work on his ball control. It bounces off him too much resulting in a loss of possession. Eriksen was instrumental in both our goals and for that reason I feel he was our best attacking player -great performance and marked it with a goal when he capitalised on a Valencia's shocking defending. He gave us the opportunity to win and Vlad made sure we took it.

Lennon was good again today, he seems to love playing against United. Special mentions for Walker and young Harry Kane, too. I was questioning why Tim brought Kane on but to be fair he did a really good job when he came on and I loved when he just booted the ball away into the crowd just to waste a few more seconds.

Very pleasant surprise in that we got the win. When we conceded a minute after scoring what should have been the goal that made things comfortable, I was fully expecting United to draw level and then maybe even win it, so to hold out was great. That's two years in a row we've won at Old Trafford so I'm a happy man.

Ade for me. His movement around the box prior to scoring was sublime, and his overall effort, support play and running was tremendous-along with Lennon (worth a mention in despatches) he laid the foundations for the win.

Chiriches had by far his best performance in a white shirt, his 'non-contact' play in the box was a lesson in staying on your feet and not making reckless tackles. Made Welbeck(?) look a bit of an arse when he went down in the box, anticipating the heavy challenge that never arrived.

Agree with this. Thght he was ok against Valencia, but Januzaj was dicking all over him.

All united's attacks were pretty much coming down our left, and mainly due to Eriksen drifting centrally to help out the MF battle.
