Do you find that a lot of stuff is beyond you? He played 3 out of 7 passes in the final third and missed our best chance horrendously.

It wasn't a horrendous miss, was it? He should have done better but he had just made a 60-70 yard run to get himself into the position. He has been overhyped somewhat by our fans but that is natural and is a better option than Dembele or Paulinho who cost over £10 million.

lloris was good. defence was good. midfield was non existent. kane did his best with little service but managed to provide the odd moment of quality. people will pat themselves on the back that we got a point against big bad scary utd but i thought that was a really limp performance. still, a point is better than nothing.

I think we did well second half even if they look a bit jaded.

I think Poch missed a huge opportunity though. Those changes should of been made a lot earlier and it could of proved significant.

That said our best chance fell to Mason and we didn't really create enough clear cut openings but we should of had a penalty and the way we pushed in the latter stages, drawing foul after foul, was impressive IMO.

The balance still isn't right though and our midfield had no grip whatsoever in the first half, he needs to work out a formula for improvement in that area.

Not a great performance by any stretch but not bad all things considered.

So our game plan was cross our fingers and hope that United spurn all their chances? Maybe you shouldn't be so quick to label other posts as embarrassing...
No maybe our game plan was to try and match them for the first half and beginning of the 2nd but it didn't work.....I don't think any game plan involves a team planning to give chances away. But we did because that's the nature of this sport....unpredictable.

But the end plan was to hit their tired legs with everything we've got!!

What have I said that is embarrassing there then?

Why has it become accepted around here that Mason is a better player than Dembele? I don't remotely agree with that, as Dembele's advantages in tackling, dribbling, and physical strength all outweigh Mason's passing (which hasn't been nearly as good in the last month or so). Dembele just hasn't had any sort of run to establish himself in the first XI, but that's going to change soon, as Bentaleb will be off and I think Moussa will re-establish himself as our #1 CM.

Nothing much, I just get tired of people being all holier-than-thou about comments made during the match. Don't take them too seriously.

Obviously if our game plan was to 'contain' them for the majority of the match (as you said), then it was an awful plan because we didn't contain them: we were reliant on Hugo and their poor finishing. They should have won that game before half time.

Mason - 6 successful passes forward. You're being blinkered if you think he was anything other than awful.

The passing stats don't really tell the whole story, Mason has been doing some of the dirty work that none of our other midfielders were doing when we were playing shit at the start of the season.

Lloris obvious choice but I thought Kane was excellent again, especially that run that Mason should have scored from

Mason also gets in a lot of good positions, he should take a leaf out of Frank Lampard's book and practice his finishing

Do you think if Andros Townsend did play on the left wing he'd repeatedly drop his shoulder and run into the crowd?

We really need a top draw CM. We have a million CM's but every single one of them falls short of having really great quality. Exception maybe Nabil who's still very young and could go on to become one.

Lloris - 9

Chiriches - 7
Fazio - 6.5
Jan - 6
Davies - 7

Mason - 6.5
Stambouli - 5

Chadli - 6.5
Eriksen - 6,5
Townsend - 6.5

Kane - 8.5

Don't know how Stambouli is ahead of Dembele in the pecking order. I fail to see what he contributes to be honest. Some truly awful defending, as per usual.

Disappointing we couldn't create more chances against that attacking lineup of Man Utd.

Pochettino again waited to long to make subs IMO

Yeah I'm sure he does but to be fair he had just sprinted the length of the pitch and had to take it first time, I don't think it was as easy a chance as it looked in the heat of the moment.

He did well defensively, but gave up the ball far too often. I know it's a lot to ask but I'd like a midfielder that can keep the ball.

Well he has two and a half years to establish himself and he hasn't done that. Dembele looked decent when he came on but he came on when United look tired and wasn't amazing either. I don't remember him ever making a forward run into the box for our best chance like <ason did. His dribbling is good and is stronger but i think Mason's tackling is just as good as Dembele and mason's passing is better than Dembele's plus I prefer a centre midfielder to be better at passing the ball than dribbling with it.

We are screaming for a Fabregas, Modric esq type player. Just need a little bit more creativity in that middle.

Love to have seen the reaction if Capoue or Paulinho had put in the performance of Mason today. We have to judge him differently because has high energy ignoring fact he was mostly woeful today. Again. Doesn't deserve spot currently.

These are the type of games you need Eriksen to step up. He's very luxury but then again he's the one who will help us win a game through his quality. It just doesn't work having him in front of a CM, he doesn't get involved enough too often.

Thought defence were good today considering how hopeless CM was for first 70mins.
Chadli is an opta footballer, not necessarily negative but when doesn't score or assist you really notice how invisible he is.
Davies is far better than Rose. Kane never stops working.
All in all hard fought albeit slightly fortunate point but would've taken that and continues what is a nice little run of results we're on.

Yes I think if he doesn't improve past his current level he'll still be an ideal squad player but even though he's a bit older than a regular "youth player" I think he can still get much better. We'll need a classy midfielder like Modric though if we want to control games and get back to playing our favourite brand of football.
