Not like that the first time it's happened to a Spurs manager. Also happened 3 times against Fat Sam last year too. Not sure why, but I feel like we deserve better........

Fat Sam just took out Manchester City... wouldn't equate him to Pardew. The Hammers can pull a shock once in a while.

Lloris -5 nothing to do except wonder when would be best to submit transfer request

Dier -3 dire indeed, not quite his fault though, but needs to be more alert

Kaboul -4 meh. Not very commanding
Vertonghen -5 good on the ball as usual but doesn't read danger very well

Rose -8 poor guy, has to carry the Defense and the whole attack

Mason -6 some neat stuff, good assist. Got lost as the game went on
Capoue-3 huddlestone at his worse today

Lamela -2 like his hair cut, a bit pony. Losing the ball constantly, slowing down play, bad decision making, bad first touch
Eriksen -6 worked and tried but playing with some clueless movement up front. Shite corners
Chadli -2 dabbling with invisibility magic

Ade - 4 goal gives him a plus 2. Otherwise usual self, don't think the avb/poch system works for him at all

Just back from the game.

Kaboul was head and shoulders the best player for Spurs. He let himself down a little with some long balls but. The stickers never troubled him. Unfortunately the goals bypassed him. Dier was asleep and Verts should have jumped.

rose played ok but with little end product. The number of times he got the ball and slowed the attack down was truly frustrating. I cannot believe he is named as motm

Second to Kaboul was Mason whose distribution was excellent.

First half we were in complete control but had only 1 effort (out of 9) on target.
Thats not good enough, esp when we concede within 8 seconds of the restart.
Diers positioning was terrible for both goals.
We have no pace to our attacks and our passing is weak and slow.
Chadli (who i like as a tidy footballer) offered nothing today, and should have been taken off early in the 2nd half - strolled around with no effort today.
We have no heart/ desire when we go behind - we needed to chase the game and were happy to stand off and watch newcastle pass the all around. This was totally summed up nor Newcastles 2nd, Erikksen gave the ball away in their half and one of their players walked past 3 spurs shirt to set up the goal - a simple foul on half way would have averted that. We really need to get a winning mentality into the team.
Lack of leadership on the pitch - our leader, Kaboul, lost his head and just started lumping the ball forwards aimlessly and no-one else on the pitch showed any leadership.
Directness - we have so many technically able players, but none have any directness to really go at players and make something happen when team sit deep. This game was crying out for lennon to come off the bench but when he did players were loathed to play the ball out wide quickly.
Too many players didn't show up today, most notably Chadli, Capoue, Ade - while i thought Eriksen and Lamela showed for the ball but their end product was terrible - but at least they were trying to make things happen.

Poch - what was he thinking with his subs? Chadli stayed on for 90 - why? Ade stayed on until the 82nd min but didn't offer much aside from his goal. Why was soldado not on sooner to replace him - Soldado offered more to the team in his short spell and his vision helped Kane put one acrosss the goal where noone could follow up.

Poor, poor day at the office - but hopefully Poch will learn from this and drop a few of these players to give them a kick up the bakside.

Rant over - sorry.

A few things.

The players that played all game on Thursday, looked fucked and didt have their best day, Lamela, Dier, Vertonghen, Capoue.

Poch made the trademark Redknapp substitution of "need a goal, chuck another striker on". It jut left us with a powder puff CM2 and little service or platform being laid on for our front players.

Tired, lethargic performance. What else can you say? Can't even bring myself to get angry.

Have a beer, terrorise the missus (or Mister) and let it all go.

All around pathetic and troubling display. All of them were a five or six. Pooch got it wrong, again. Too much faith in his own ability to make it happen. This will be our worst season n ten years. I can't see us getting into the top ten. Unless the manager rethinks his approach and tries something different. This crap he has us playing is not working. Appalling.

Shocking the lot of them. We play in white, try passing to another player in white, if you can't do that its a big fat 0 for the lot of ya. Grow some bollocks and man up.

The only bright spot for me was Mason in the first half. Our front 4 were dreadful and time after time you could see how shockingly narrow we were in attack. It's fine to play inverted wingers if you have overlapping FBs but we don't. We also don't have a 3 behind the striker who create or score. Yet all the front 4 seem rock solid selections regardless of how they play. I want to be positive but this is like AVB all over again but with worse results.

Thought Kaboul was terrible actually, in the first 6 mins he gave the ball away 3 times. Didnt command the players around him. More interested in getting down the wing then defending. His comments after the match sum him up. He should never be captain.

Adebayor was pretty pants besides the goal. Oh well, hopefully he'll be better when he starts again for no good reason next week.

Yet again embarrasing spurs pitch up... We are the laughing stock again. That is a woeful woeful Newcastle side that have beat us today. Said it before and I'll say it again this was coming when we failed in transfer market. We knew this group were average last season. Nothing's changed. Poch is under pressure big time but we are a mid table outfit

Lamela was truly atrocious today.. How many times can he lose the ball under no pressure ? Sane against city last week! U can stick the rabona up your arse give me a consistent winger who creates and probes every week any day....
