Eriksen MOTM for me. I was watching the first 10 mins and he looked sharp and I said to myself "we are going to win today because he is playing well". That's how important he has become to us.

I agree but thought the opposite. Thought we'd struggle as he had a slow start but came into his own

Its his movement normally. If I see him buzzing around and on the ball a lot it's all good. When he is remote and isolated I know it's going to be a struggle.

Lloris-Peters - 7 - Some dodgy kicking but handled everything else masterfully

Walker-Peters-Peters - 7 - Very composed on his debut. Didn't put a foot wrong defensively and gave them a fair bit to worry about going forwards. Not a MOTM performance, but very assured.

Alderweireld-Peters - 8 - Imperious at the back. Didn't look ruffled all game.

Vertonghen-Peters - 7 - Composed and looked good on the ball. Not a lot to do really.

Davies-Peters - 7 - He's not Danny Rose but his attacking play is improving and his defensive work is solid. In the right place for the goal as well.

Dembele-Peters - 7 - Out-muscled anyone who came near him and got us on front foot on more than a few occasions. Still sometimes holds onto the ball too much though.

Dier-Peters - 6 - Didn't do anything wrong but wasn't really needed for most of the game. There will be games where having him in that role will be crucial, but this wasn't one of them.

Sissoko (he's not a Peters) - 4 - Lacked energy, commitment and ultimately talent. If he was ever going to get up for a game this was it. He didn't Enough said.

Alli-Peters - 6 - Would have been a 5 without the goal but ultimately you take those incredibly frustrating moments where he plays like a drunk spider because he's got a few moments of magic in him in each game, and it told again.

Eriksen-Peters - 8 - Dictated play and ultimately got us going with a glorious assist. Basically our most important player.

Kane-Peters - 6 - Should have scored twice so as that's his job has to be marked down for not doing so. Also a silly yellow card which could have been worse with a different ref. Still he looked much fitter than he has in the opening of previous seasons so that's good.

Subs-Peters - 6.5 - Son made us look better, Wanyama looked a bit off the pace and Winks didn't have enough time to influence the game.

Should probably add that Poch-Peters just about got a 7/10 for me. The team looked very conservative in the first half, but I think he may have been hamstrung by the lack of fitness of Son, Winks and Wanyama who could all have offered a bit more front-foot football if they were fully fit.

He clearly got into the players at half-time though and even before Uncle Fester got himself sent off we were dominating.
