We need to get rid of the cobwebs and strengthen the squad if we are to make a go of it this season.

Pluses - KWP;s debut, Dembele Eriksen and the defence.

Okay - Ali (Only because of the goal), Son

Minuses - Kane (By his own standards) Dier

net - Wanyama Winks

My MOTM Kyle Walker - Peters for a good debut

Very happy for KWP - but its Eriksen for me. Amazing how understated he is - but he is the most complete player we have.

Not bad for the first outing. A way off the pace of the end of last season, nothing a few games wont sort. Nothing of any concern and only positives.

Eriksen easily the best player on the pitch.

Back four + Dembele = 7

Everyone else 6 or below.

Not doubting your MOTM - but Poch was not "proven" wrong...Poch is a believer in KWP
Never doubted he was a believer in KWP but I see where you are coming from but it was he who said KWP was not ready which I disagreed with at the time

First game of the season, still ring rusty and not quite sharp, easy win, no complaints.

Lloris was alert when he needed to be.

Walker-Peters was promising, they clearly targeted him and he was unfazed, very comfortable on the ball and a nice passer too, I'd not be against sticking with him and Trippier even though he will face tougher tests.

Alderweireld was fine, never overly tested.

Vertonghen was fine, never overly tested.

Davies was where it mattered to cap a fine move and was solid defensively.

Dier was sloppy on occasion but was okay when tracking any runners.

Dembele looked like a man amongst children.

Eriksen was not his very best but still everything good we did, including both goals, happens because of him.

Dele was not great at all but he kept calm as they targeted him for rough treatment and was there to score when it mattered, lovely flick for the second.

Sissoko was not terrible but not good enough either, and unlikely Dele you can't count on him for those magic moments amidst a poor performance. Tried hard and protected the debut boy is the best thing I can say.

Kane grew into the game, unlucky in the end not to score, but looks a little rusty. It's okay, two league games left this month to break the hoodoo. Involved in both goals.

Son was Son like, bit erratic, set up Kane beautifully once.

Wanyama looked like someone who needed the minutes he was given.

Winks came on.

Not exactly a Rolls Royce performance but we were always in control without really breaking a sweat, we were dominating without Shelvey's stupid red card and we won at a ground that tends to be quite unlucky for us. Good start to the season.

MOTM clearly Eriksen. He is a fucking sensational player. But Dele Alli comes close for being an absolute **** and riling up Shelvey to the point where he did something stupid and got sent off. Geez you would hate him if you were an opposition fan, but I fucking love him and love that hes ours.

Lloris - 7
KWP - 7
Alderweireld - 7
Vertonghen - 7
Dabies - 8
Dier - 7
Dembele - 8
Sissoko - 6
Eriksen - 9
Dele - 8
Kane - 7

Son - 7
Wanyama - N/A
Winks - N/A

Walker-Phillips was anonymous.

Yet he was still better than Sissoko, without even existing.
