"Kane was knackered today, bit harsh to judge him on this one"

.. fair point .. he does work a lot harder than most

Be honest if you were an opposition manager or player and you were lining up against mason and bentaleb in cmidfield would u be worried ? I would think spurs are here for the taking today. They are young and one day I'd like to see them run our midfield but nowhere near at the moment. Nowhere near
Still better than the rest based on the evidence this season. I think Stambouli deserves more of a chance though, no idea what's going on there.

Lloris.........8+...MOM.If I wore a hat I'd take it off to you. Champagne is Fizzing
Dier............6-...Struggled against a good winger but stuck at it. Gently bubbling
Fazio..........8... Getting there. The berth next to Verts is there for the taking. Hot stuff.
Verts..........7+...Gets the other CH gig by default .Usual hammock and Gin and tonic performance
Davies.......7..... Now he's settled getting more potent.
Mason........6.....Needs a top up. Gone a bit stale.
Bentaleb.....6+..Young and will improve with age.
Eriksen.......7.....Classy, but not being kept in ideal conditions.
Lamela.......5.....Flat .Flat. Flat. Complain to the management.
Kane...........5.... Empty glass. Needs a refill.
Soldado......5.....Expensive vintage and not living up to its reputation. Corked?

Pochettino...5.....Not seeing straight. Been sampling too much. Tony Gale is not always wrong.
Mostly agreed until the last point. Tony Gale is, in fact, ALWAYS wrong. And he is a xenophobe.

Dier is unbelievably bad at RB. I know that a lot of you think he is poor there, but I can assure you he is worse than you think. He is neither here nor there all the time. He never gets close to his man. He doesn't have the pace to try to get near a winger more than 20 yds away from goal and he has the turning radius of an oil tanker. How many times do you see a winger approach the byline with Dier 10 yds away just letting him pick out his cross?

Going forward was worse than usual today. Tried to beat his man for some odd reason and his sizzling agility let him down shockingly. I'd give him about a 3. Bolasie is good but he made life easy.

Lloris was a top man out there. Thought the CBs were fairly good. Kane and Soldado were awful and I'm close to giving up on Lamela even thought I'm typically one of his biggest supporters.
Do you think he might just be struggling for confidence a bit, playing out of position in a tough new league?

Davies, Fazio and Lloris good, the rest poor

Pretty much sums it up for me

We started really slowly and didn't get any quicker. They looked a bit leggy to me and by looking at the rest of the results I don't think we were the only ones

Mason has looked in the last couple of games now as if he is running out of steam a bit. Kane also today it looked one match too far. Bentaleb went into his shell second half and three games in a week after injury was also probably too much to ask of the kid. I agree that we cannot be relying on them throughout the season, needs sorting.

Absolutely,we can't keep asking these 3 youngsters to carry this team all the time.
Man Utd's class of '92 wouldn't have got very far playing with some of our lot.

Doesn't answer my question though... Stambouli definitely deserves a start and at least he can make a tackle coz again we looked like we had a soft centre again today

Mason made 5 successful tackles today and had a 71% tackle success.

Are there *any* Lamela apologist bed-wetters left?? There can't be, surely?!

I said a while back that I couldn't see what he could bring to the team that would warrant anywhere near that price tag, or more importantly a starting berth...and that's still the case. He's the poster boy for our current predicament; an abomination of a signing.

Please tell me you were at the game ? 3 of those were when he lost it and chased the guy down and made a block or tackle. I'm talking about the midfield dual, how many times did he win a 2nd ball how many times did he let Jedinak or MacArthur know he was there ? He didn't, neither did bentaleb.

I wasn't at the game. I'm pretty sure you've just waited for Bentaleb and Mason to have a bad game so you could pounce on them because otherwise, you'll be proven wrong.

That's the reason you can't comment on the performance of these two based on stats... They were good against Everton but v poor today. And as I said previously no one will fear us whatsoever when playing those two as our c midfielders, neither create enough and neither track runners, I haven't seen either make a really strong tackle. Both pass it lots sideways and mason runs around a lot but seriously we need more than that ?

I watched the game though. So are you saying that you can only comment on a game if you actually go to it?

Dier was given zero cover on the right in the 2nd half. He's a young centre back playing out of position and as soon as lamela went off and eriksen was switched to the right he was left horribly exposed.
Lamela was awful in the first half, but at least he tried to help dier out on the right. Lennon should have been brought on instead of chadli as he would have tracked back and helped in a position we were obviously struggling with.
For some to blame dier is a bit harsh on a young player.

You watched it yet you got it horribly wrong !?? Even worse! You threw a stat at me suggesting mason made lots of tackles yet you couldn't see we need the tackles to be won as a 2nd ball not after he's given it away and has to chase down the full back ! With me ?

Lloris - 9 - Without him we'd have lost, probably 2/3-0

Dier - 5 - Bolasie terrorised him but he's not a RB so let him off a bit
Fazio - 8 - Very commanding and solid best performance in a Spurs shirt from him
Jan - 6 - Not bad, not great, one amazing tackle but also a bit sloppy
Davies - 6 - Solid defensively and good quality going forward but too slow

Lamela - 4 - Offered nothing, gave the ball away loads and made more stupid fouls
Bentaleb - 5 - Don't really know what he offered, quite negative with his passing
Mason - 6 - Good energy, think he offers more than Bentaleb IMO
Eriksen - 6 - Not his best game but was out of position

Soldado - 5 - Poor movement and fluffed 2 very good chances, needs to go as much as I like him
Kane - 6 - Still improving and looked tired, ran into trouble a few times, a few good shots/headers, didn't looka huge threat really.

Potch - 5 - Should've started Lennon and should've not brought Pauliniho on.

Was at the game, it was so poor from us all quite depressing really.

To be honest, this match was decided on Wednesday.

Away at Chelsea was always going to a tough ask - but we played starters who could have been rested for this game. Now I am not sure what is going on injury-wise, or otherwise, at the club - but it seems Harry, mason and Bentaleb in particular suffered the effects of 3 games in 6 days - when we should have played others in the mid-week game.

I said as much before the Chelsea game and no one agreed with me lol,.

Lloris was brilliant,Verts and Fazio seem to be forming a good understanding with one another,Davies had his best game in a Spurs shirt today, the rest of the players were just poor.

You know you've done a whole lot wrong when your goalkeeper is MOM at home vs. Crystal Palace.

Couldn't help think this during the 2nd half. He does it more often than not these days. We're bloody lucky to have him.
