For people who are starting to think Lennon is going to be our saviour this season, I think you may be disappointed.

wish people would stop using this strawman line, who has implied lennon is our saviour? maybe some of us just feel that currently he gives the team better balance and allows us to function a little more fluidly? lennon has come in and done well, what he did last season or the previous five years are irrelevant if he's helping us now.

Sorry to burst your bubble.
Lamela 16/21……. passes
Looks like your about 95 passes out.
Your a bit of a drama queen aren't you.

He didn't 'give the ball away' by passing inaccurately. He gave the ball away - multiple times - by being caught in possession or losing control during an attempted dribble. Mason and Bentaleb were also caught in possession - pressing high and trying to win the ball was clearly Plan A for Palace - but not as often or in as alarming locations as Lamela. He had a stinker of a half and that's why he was substituted.

At he moment he is playing better than few others and has assisted the team in playing well, but the way people are going on about him at the moment it seems as though they think he should be undroppable and will help kick-start the season. People seem to be exaggerating, and that's my point. I'm not deny that at the moment he is playing well and offering us another outlet.

Like Chelsea ?

Our next best performance after Everton was Southampton. No Lennon. The QPR game you liked so much, no Lennon. Sunderland no Lennon.

You seem to be basing you're whole theory on one game. Ignoring the bulk of evidence.

I'm not twisting anything, just not agreeing with it.

I'm not ignoring anything, I'm looking at how we perform as an attacking collective with and without him. I think without him, we struggle a lot of the time because we've so little pace in the side.

That's your prerogative to disagree, of course, but I think you underestimate the impact his pace/threat carries for our overall attacking play.

He can be frustrating, from an individual point of view, I totally get that but, for me, others benefit when he plays because he simply creates space and the team is a hell of a lot more balanced.

3 times dribbling.
Yes he played badly, but he wasn't the only one.
But he also had some good passages of play.
Saying he didn't do anything all game is untrue.

Replacing Lamela and Lennon with Bolasie because they are too trick reliant/unproductive would be pretty hilarious.

It's not about the tricks. He produced something after the tricks. Something our wide men - Lamela included - are lacking.

They are creating unfortunately were not finishing these chances.

Was I at a different game or what? Are you trying to tell me that he wasn't a constant threat to us? Jesus.

No I'm saying thats not what productivity is. I've watched plenty of Bolasie, he looks great but doesn't contribute anywhere near enough in terms of goals and assists. He essentially looks much better than he is useful in terms of winning football matches.

I don't think we're creating nearly enough. Especially down our left. On paper, we should be beating the likes of Palace. We were undone more than once by Bolasie and if their forwards were on form or had more luck, we would have lost.

You don't win anything on paper.
You win by scoring goals.
We've had enough chances to punish teams.
We are weak in front of goal.
Love Soldado, Kane not much fussed about Ade, but all 3 have been weak in front of goal.

I agree about the strikers - you couldn't but agree. But I think we've been devoid of ideas for most of the season. But I'm trying to be patient despite the onset of boredom at most matches.

Did you see how many chances Palace had?

I mean seriously come on now.

Bolasie would be an awful acquisition. He is just as unreliable as Lennon and Lamela and he literally has no end product. Any other place in the positions that he was against us would've bagged a hattrick

Tend to agree that one natural winger makes us more balanced at the moment.

We're so narrow and slow across the front 4 otherwise.

Lennon is far from ideal, but solves a lot of short term problems.

Yeah, I'm under estimating Lennon's influence. That's probably because I've only had 9 years of it to go on.

This is like Huddlestone, and his influence (effluence ?), all over again. You'll be telling me we're missing him (a la Merson on Soccer Saturday) next.
