Verts was brilliant today IMO. I believe it was @Snarfalicious who was very worried after the Limassol game about him. If JV can keep this performances up, he won't need to worry :D

7 - Lloris - did everything he had to do (not much) well
8 - Dier - its hard not to get excited by this kid - very well rounded player
8 - Rose - all action performance - will be a fan of his if he continues like this
6 - Kaboul - generally solid, but lapses of concentration still there - fitness must be building
8 - Vertonghen - was on it today
8 - Capoue - key member of the side in terms of possession retention - very good
6 - Bentaleb - not bad at all, although a couple of loose passes - vision average, could have looked forward sometimes instead of easy backwards ball - something to build on
9 - Chadli - my MoM - he put the ball in the back of the net very coolly and that's what its all about - very promising
8 - Lamela - excellent hard-working first half - hopefully he'll kick on now
7 - Eriksen - tidy first half with trademark free-kick - got careless second half
7 - Adebayor - spent a lot of time lying on ground, but good performance generally - maybe lacking a little fitness

Dembele/Kane/Soldado - all much of a muchness really

What a great day today! Trying not to get too carried away as it looked like QPR were pretty bad. Not sure how much they have played 3-5-2, but it looked like a foreign concept to them.

Been ages since I felt like that leaving the Lane!

Gonna give MoM to Lamella.
He didn't do everything well, but his workrate was top notch and was a constant threat, shown by his assist, Chadli deserves praise too, more of that from both of them please.

Really it was just a great team performance though, so it was tough to single anyone out.

Still haven't seen the match but based on the comments so far, I wonder if those that thought so (and there were quite a few), still think that last season's purchases was a waste of Money?

Nice to see our 3 attacking midfielders all playing with their heads up, with brains and interchanging positions all match. 9 and joint motm for those 3. The rest 8s

MoM Lamela for me..... He set the tone in that first 20 minutes. Demanded the ball, passed where he wanted the rest of the team to be and chased everything. Inspiring.

Loved Eriksens work, and Chadli looked great in the system

midfield bossed it and the whole defense looked tight

nice one Poch

Fantastic from front to back. Bentaleb and Capoue dominated the centre of midfield - fantastic pairing.

Jan looked like he was having the time of his life.

It was great to see us take our chances and beat a shit side. Normally it's these kind of teams we struggle to motivate ourselves against. The real text is the next game but this is a great way to build confidence.

What I was impressed with the most was the way we played. Constantly closing down and harrassing players, Lamela was like a man possessed. Even Eriksen got stuck in, something he's not really known for. It's the Poch style from Southampton and, although we faded as the second half went on, we still kept playing for 90 minutes. Only negative is that Caulker could've bagged 2 from set pieces, something we've always been shakey at. Nevertheless, it was a great team performances with every player playing well and doing his part.

Particular standouts for me:

Vertonghen - shrugged off his rustiness from the Limassol game and showed why he's such a class defender.
The midfield trio of Eriksen, Chadli and Lamela - It was fluid, full of energy and created chances. They pressed well and covered each other well. Great to see that pay off.
Capoue - Like Lamela I've always had faith in him because of what I've seen from him at his previous club. A very solid tackler combined with some tidy link up play, and has an eye for a pass.
Dier - So delighted for this boy. For a centre back he really can adapt well to playing right back. He's composed on the ball and has the confidence to take it forward and make those runs off the ball.

Just brilliant and Poch with his feet on the ground after the match. This is so encouraging after last year. Big test next week should tell us a lot

MOM is difficult which is a welcome change.
Usualy a fight for duffer of the week.
Rose, Chadli, Capoue, Dier and Lamela on another day
would have won it without any problem
Eriksen and Verts top performances too.
Poor team QPR badly organised and looked as if Harry had given this one up.
Stop the league I want to get off.
Best performance for some time.
Pressing, players moving and wanting the ball.
Quicker forward ball, mainly good decision making.
Do you know I think Mauricio has gelled them.

Loving the positive ratings people have posted. COYS!

Good game to start off our home campaign, always in control. Qpr seemed like they were going to sit and hit us on the break but our possession was so good and patient these opportunities were few and far between. When we did lose the ball we did well closing the gaps and often winning it straight back. Lamela and Eriksen were very good at this especially in the 1st half.

Lloris - 7 Very little to do but was positive when needed and he often got involved in the ball retention in the 2nd Half.

Rose - 9 Was excellent today defensively and offensively, often winning back post balls he had no right to. Was often in space and I felt we didn't get the ball out to him quickly enough at times in the 1st half. Great assist for the 4th goal.

Vertonghen - 8 Looked great, composed and positionally sound.

Kaboul - 7 Did fine, however at 1-0 a serious lapse in concentration he ended up being beaten by a route 1 ball that Qpr should have scored from.

Dier - 8 Another good steady game, made some great tidy challenges also another goal to hammer home our dominance

Capoue - 7 Good composed game keeping things ticking over, positonally good. Looked a bit laboured at times, overall though good.

Bentaleb - 6 I thought he looked a little tired and gave the ball away a few times.

Chadli - 8 2 good goals, great composure for the opener, this man really is a unit. Kept ball well however didn't create a great deal.

Eriksen - 7 Great free kick that deserved more, he was better in the 2nd half than the 1st and the way he controlled a hail mary ball was a great moment for me and just underlined this boys class.

Lamela - 8 Great 1st half, his injections of pace really created great situations for us. Faded in the 2nd half but had a chance which I wish he had just put his foot through. His work rate is exceptional and when he is confident will be a great player for us.

Adebayor - 7 So so game for me, I felt he wasn't direct enough at times. 2nd half better than the 1st.

Subs

Dembele - 6 Seemed to take ages to get up for the game when he came on, however did improve.

Kane - 6 little impact

Soldado - 6 no time to have a go

Poch: Was very vocal up on the line most of the game giving instructions. Don't think he was tested tactically today.

Overall good game but feel we weren't direct enough at times. I think we will need to move the ball quicker against better teams. QPR sat right off us and allowed us to have the ball, other teams will not allow this luxury and we have to be ready.

I have to say, I have unfortunately had to write a lot of negative stuff about Spurs players and performances over the past couple of years, but for the first time in a long time, I can say that I really enjoyed the game today and thought we were fantastic, an absolute pleasure to watch.

I think Rose and Chadli are players particularly deserving of praise...they have taken a lot of stick from all of us, myself especially. However today they were both fantastic.

Chadli was my MOM, he looked a different player to the one we saw last year, leaner, fitter, faster and more imaginative, he took two goals very well and was the creator of our fourth, he terrorised QPR today.

Rose's performance was faultless, got forward well, covered back defensively and got an assist.

Fantastic performances all round.
