I didn't enjoy the game this evening, played at stupid o'clock in stupid o'communist microstate and the performance was pretty poor too, we need to work a lot harder because midfield congestion will be the death of us.

One stand out thing for me was the commentators and even some people on here saying how lucky we are that there players were offside etc or we would have got punished etc.

Whats fucking lucky about a well executed offside trap??

Fryers 6 - was ok really before injury

Chiriches 7- was very skillful - lacks pace

Vertonghen 6 - so so

Dawson 6 - ok but like vertonghen not great dealing with pace

Lennon 5 - two decent attempts on goal didn't get too involved
Sandro 7 - good at breaking up play
Dembele 5 - poor for most, couldn't be arsed tonight
Lamela 4 - poor
Eriksen 6 - three worldly passes that would have lead to 3 goals had it been soldado instead of Defoe and Lennon. Didn't get on the ball enough
Chadli 5 - not much in time

Holtby 5 - didn't do much in short time
Defoe 4 - deflected goal stops him from getting a 2 or 3 but still pretty shit all round tonight

Naughton was awful (in fact it was very concerning as it was like he was playing with strangers), closely followed by Defoe who again offered us nothing upfront other than an extremely lucky goal.

So so. Needs a run in the team really - to generate confidence and properly get up to pace.

I said when he first came that he'd need cotton wool and lots of tlc as he's a sensitive character and was very reluctant to leave the security and familiarity of Roma.

Once he feels at home and properly part of the unit, he'll be great. Hold tight with this one, he'll deliver.

Chiriches was good.....untill he moved to RB, misplaced quite a few passes down the line. Sandro MOTM for me.

Naughton is beyond awful and when he went down I was secretly hoping he'll be out for a few weeks.

How an earth we can give our defenders 7s and 8s is beyond me ... yes Chiriches played well but Sheriff cut us open at will, good job their shooting was hopeless otherwise we could have easily been beaten.

Did we really pay £30m for Lamela? early days yes but he looks petrified and like a bunny in headlights.

Naughton 1 - This lad is clearly out of his depth and should be moved on asap
Chiriches 8 - No great pace but good anticipation - saved a certain goal.
Vertonghen 7 - Quietly competent and scored.
Fryers 6 - I'm not convinced but, unlike Naughton, there is at least hope.
Sandro 7 - Solid
Dembele 6 - A bit below par and looked tired
Lennon 4 - The lack of a football brain will always let him down.
Eriksen 6 - Quiet but some great passes which were wasted.
Lamela 5 - Yet to show his potential and needs more time.
Defoe 4 - A lucky goal and nothing else - he is simply not a team player.

Dawson 6 - Solid as usual
Chadli 6 - No complaints
Holtby 6 - - Ditto -
