If this is the best we can do without Eriksen I am very scared about the rest of the season. Conditions and illness may not have helped but we were poor all over rhe pitch.

Vorm was fine, dealt with everything without fuss.

Aurier was dreadful, they targeting him first half and it worked while going forward he offered the square route of fuck all.

Sanchez needs a time out. He’s a very talented young centre back who has been a great signing, but lately he’s been a mistake waiting to happen. He improved as the game wore on but he was very sloppy for the opening half hour. Unlucky on the own goal.

Vertonghen was fine, composed amidst chaos.

Davies was our only consistent threat going forward and dealt with everything defensively too.

Dier was cumbersome on and off the ball.

Dembele was poor, not just the fouls (half of which were dives) but the poor decisions, running into dead ends and telegraphed passing.

Sissoko was far from our worst player but his inability to find a pass screwed up many potential attacks.

Dele was awful, couldn't trap a bag of cement, weak and unimaginative.

Son was invisible, just didn’t want to know.

Kane, goal aside, struggled. Lots of huff and puff but everything seemed forced today.

Lamela was weak, slow, indecisive and fouled a lot.

Trippier did nothing to improve our dreadful right hand side.

Wanyama came on when we had a World Cup winning striker on the bench, well done Mauricio.

Best to worst:

Vertonghen
Davies
Vorm
Kane
Sissoko
Dier
Sanchez
Dembele
Son
Aurier

Why is Pochetinho so passive and why does he not push Levy to buy better options...

We were lucky not to lose today..

Why did why buy Llorente he never gets used even when Son and Alli were ineffective.

Awful performance. Subs did nothing to change the game.

An infuriating performance, players out there that aren't good enough and a manager who doesn't react quick enough when changes are required.
I can’t agree with any of the subs playing for a max of 20 mins + injury time receiving lower scores than those who actually had 70+ minutes to make their mark.

Verts was good. Vorm was actually top-notch, didn't have to make any wonder saves but had some tricky ones that he held on to superbly. Dembele I though was really promising, not at his best but his confidence looks to be coming back along with his physicality. Look forward to seeing him tear United a new one like old times.

Unless more of the squad were suffering with illness than we though Poch deserves the worst rating on this one. Shocking substitutions throughout and a questionable starting line up.

Vorm 7
Aurier 5
Sanchez 5
Verts 7 MOM
Davies 7 Always alert, rather good on corners
Sissoko 4
Dier 6
Dembele 4 Exemplified a turgid midfield. Too slow to move the ball and off the pace,
Dele 5 Often too slow to make the right pass
Son 5 Lack of service, but don't sub a player in scoring form
Kane 6

Trips 6
Wanyama 5 Wasteful shot. If on at HT for Dembele, possibly a big stabiiliser
Lamela 4 There's not much there

Poch 3 Lack of dynamicism in subs really costs us points. Too complacent.

Sissoko will always carry the can when we drop points because he is not liked. He was no way our worst player but that doesn't matter to some based on their ratings.

Sissoko MOTM for me, but only just. The whole team was poor today.

At least Sissoko tried, he has been a changed player this season
Sissoko motm because he tried

Fuck me, the bar couldn’t be any lower for him could it

It was a dreadful choice to replace Lamela with Son and not Sissoko.

Switch Son the let flank, Alli middle and Lamela right.

Really fucking struggle to understand Poch's rationale in both initial selection and mid-game tactics and if he tries to palm off on his that we played well or denied 3 points because of luck/referee/whatever then it'll be pouring oil onto an already burning fire with me!

perhaps Son was 1 of the effected with illness but chose to play. not sure how many out there were not feeling too good, but on that performance I'd say most of them

That was incredibly difficult to watch and everything has been said in the match thread and here. This game is a carbon copy of others where Eriksen is out. As much as he goes missing, he really is the glue that holds our attack and our defense together.

Dembele reverted to his dribbling self, which is pointless unless he is the furthest back, which he wasn’t, which causes a traffic jam in the middle of the park.

Dier...I have said it for years now. He isn’t a CM and shouldn’t be in the squad unless he is in the back 3. I guarantee KWP could have done his job. I will bang on about this but the perfect addition to the squad is Charles Aranguiz. He would make everyone forget about Dier and Dembele and wouldn’t cost us an arm and a leg.

Sissoko? I can’t.

Sanchez’s mistake aside, the game was won and lost in the midfield and the three above did nothing to get out attacking front involved in the game. Our engine room is poor without the likes of Winks, Wanyama, and Eriksen. That is where the issue is and has been for ages.

Okay I’m going to start by saying 5 = Average!

Vorm 7 did well holding the ball on the 4 on target

Aurier 4.5 did Not get enough croses in and was poor positionaly at times.
Sanchez 5
Verts 7 he tried to speed up play and push us forward. Was strong a couple of times.
Davies 5 did not too much wrong but again not enough going forward. Just can’t take players on.
Sissoko 5 didn’t pass that well or drive forward
Dier 4 Incapable of passing forwards
Dembele 6 good few tackles huffing and puffing but no real output.
Alli too slow all game
Son didn’t take people on and in fairness didn’t get much of the ball.
Kane 6 tried hard but no good balls to him and wasn’t his day.

Poch 4 needed to change earlier as usual. But maybe Lamela and Wanyama are still unfit especially on a heavy pitch.

Overall we looked tierd and lack mental quickness. Passing was poor touches bad and because tactics were poor on the wings they kept us worried on the left. To be honest I Am surprised saints didn’t win this one.

Getting worried about Aurier.

Can't cross the ball at all and is prone to numerous defensive mistakes per game.

Also, he's now been pulled up for 2 foul throws this season, and there was another one in the first half that was missed by the ref. A foul throw is criminal for me, it's so so basic.

Really hoping that a Poch pre-season/Poch full back midas touch comes off for him.

Worst performance of the season for me..... and Poch needs to take blame, he needs to start learning from these things as he needs to take us to that next level, I really believe he can but he needs to stand up to Levy and get backing as we need a squad. he has players on bench (llorente) and wont even bring him on when chasing a game, sell him to the Chavs if your not gonna play him when we need a goal.... Grrrr... I truly believe Poch is at the ceiling currently re how far he can take us but he needs to learn and support, but anyway onto ratings

Vorm 7 - Was fairly solid
Aurier 3 - Very poor, 3 foul throws for a professional footballer, injured late on, like putting an animal out their misery. He is improving but very poor today, not helped by Sissoko
Sanchez 4 - Very shakey, seems to be missing Toby
Verts 7 My man of match, pretty solid and should be club captain
Davies 6 - done Ok
Sissoko 2 - Terrible, how people are saying he done OK I must have been watching a different game, some reason Poch keeps playing him, in his book he says he didn't sign Sissoko, so wonder if he is trying to prove a point to levy about how shit he is?
Dier 4 - Terrible, must be one of the sick players after today
Dembele 4 Sorry but he cant turn in 2 good performances on a trot anymore, was superb last week v Everton, today was terrible, fouling all over the place, he is a midfielder with no goals and no assists, what does he do when he isn't fouling - serious question?
Dele 3 - worst player after Sissoko, had a good chance but was terrible
Son 4 - Poor
Kane 7 - Good Goal and could have won it at death but summed up our day when he missed that

Trips 5 - not much time
Wanyama 3 - terrible decision for shot at end
Lamela 4 we were calling out for him to come on but didn't do anything of note really, bar missing 2 great chances

Poch 1 - Poor first 11, poor substitutions, no in-game management, are we at the top of his level? not calling for his head like some fans and equally Levy would never get rid of his puppet but he needs to learn and feel he can drop the names when they are not performing, but he doesn't have the squad I suppose, but then again he says "I am happy with my squad" albeit this will change in Feb. very underwhelmed by Poch this year, he is meant to be magic but not seen much of that this season

Vertonghen MotM but it’s like being employee of the month in an ice cream van

Poch minus a million for poor team selection and even worse in game adjustments
