Eriksen leads very (very, very, very...) early in the voting I see... Surprising. I thought he was piss poor until we started strolling it at 3-1. Him and Kane not being at it was one of the main problems, especially first half.

I think Rose overall had the best individual game. Chadli was much improved on recent form. Special mention to Hugo for the save at the end.

Lloris - 8 - Could've saved their first, but saved us AGAIN.

Walker - 7 - few lapses in concentration, but effective in attack. Almost got an assist.
Dier - 6 - Solid enough, but out whole defence was pretty poor.
Verts- 5.5 - Same as Dier, but made mistake for their first goal.
Rose - 8 - Excellent again. Really coming into his own. Very effective attacking-wise, and reducing defensive mistakes.

Bentaleb - 6 - Solid again.
Mason - 8 (MOM) - nice goal, and kept our tempo high throughout. Excellent 2nd half especially, and I loved his passion in the celebration.

Townsend - 7 - Great goal, and improved in the second half, but was poor in the first.
Eriksen - 7 - Great feet for Mason's goal, and grew into the game. Did well.
Chadli - 7.5 - lovely finish, and used his body well throughout. Made a few clever balls too.

Kane - 6 - Ran his socks off, but was pretty ineffective. Just didn't get any real chances, no worries.

Very hard job to do ratings today imo as we were collective boring, collective playing with style and collective scary at the back. I try none the less.

Lloris - 8 - thank you once again

Rose - 7 - solid job
Vertonghen - 6 - a few awful moments but some good ones too
Dier - 7 - He does nothing like a stupid idiot. Thats were he is better than 90% of the team. okay game!
Walker - 6 - Some okay moments but very often only a what the fuck are you doing mate? At least more offensive signs.

Mason - 7 - Yay a PL goal, very happy for him. Aside that I think he wasnt too comfortable defensively. Was good when the whole team was.
Bentaleb - 7 - Our motor with a solid game

Chadli - 7 - Thats more like it Nacer. I think the front line Eriksen - Dembele - Chadli has the most potential. Good goal. Could be better in pressing and defending off the goal though
Eriksen - 7 - Created pretty good today
Townsend - 5.5 - His first PL goal out of open play for us after nearly two years (the cross against Villa aside who landed accidentaly in the net). But esp in first half truly awful again. His goal came from the left. And I think he could be more effective over there...

Kane - 6 - had his moments but not his best day. Can'T happen every time. Good working rate again

Dembele - 7 - I thought a very decent cameo.
Davies - 5 - lost Sigurdsson
Soldado - 6 - no goal again but involved and slightly improved.

Personally I thought that was a quite fantastic performance!

We do concede far far too easily and make life very difficult for ourselves, they are just such easy goals a cross and a volley or someone not marking etc, sort that out and we'll be some team.

My goodness we passed the ball around like a pin-ball machine! That was the best passing display I've seen from us since the Harry Redknapp days with Modric, VDV etc pinging it around making it look easy. Bentaleb, Mason, Eriksen were taking the piss and Swansea are a very very good team so to have 60+% possession against them is a good achievement.

Lloris - 8 - Match-saving save at the end

Walker & Rose - 7 Both attacked very well especially rose
Jan & Dier - 7 Did their jobs goals were conceded as we switched off as a team

Bentaleb & Mason -8's Both excellent kept the ball and used it so very well

Townsend - 7 - Great goal and better end product
Eriksen - 7- Good game from him
Chadli -7 Got his goal

Kane - 5 Quiet from his standards

Potch - 8 Got the troops going again after the final defeat and if it wasn't for a few sloppy goals and lapses in concentration we'd have deservedly won this 3/4-0.

Brilliant to watch and much much more like Spurs in every way.

Love it.

Lloris 7.5 - World class save to save the three points. I don't fault him for Siggy's goal, but he could have done more on Ki's goal. I thought his distribution, especially his kicking which has been weak at times, was better this game.

Walker 5.5 - I rate him, but his defending was the worst aspect of the match. I thought he was caught out of position multiple times and in my mind he was 75% at fault for Siggy's goal in letting Montero jink him with the same move twice to make space for his cross. He made some good runs forward so I game up .5 more for that. He has got to be a better defender, though.

Vertonghen 6.5 - .5 off for that terrible defending to allow Ki the goal. Otherwise, I thought he was solid covering well and working well with Dier high up the pitch. He makes one or two individual errors a match, hoever, and it is incredibly frustrating.

Dier 8 - I thought he was very good all game. He is quick and his passing looks good out of the back. His pace allows him to use his very good slide tackling ability to his advantage and he can catch up with any defender. He and Vertonghen were composed on the offside trap against Routledge.

Rose 8 - He is playing very, very well right now. I saw him make some good tackles and interceptions. He was quick to bomb forward and maybe my feed cut out at the wrong times, I can be corrected, but he seemed to shut down his side. His cross for Chadli's goal was brilliant what more can you say. I don't understand why people want Davies to start in front of him.

Bentaleb 9 - MOTM. He is my favorite player, so maybe I am a bit biased. I thought he was stellar. He is so assured there in midfield in his positioning in passing. He was in the right place at the right time seemingly. He made some very good interceptions...I didn't see any tackles but my stream went in and out especially in the first half. He is very good going forward as well - a very underrated dribbler and I hope MP gives him more expansive freedom to pass forward because he nearly always makes the right pass - he missed one to the left wing in the 2nd half that he should have done much better on. I would also fault him for his long shots, which he does well to get on frame but they are too savable. I would like to see some more one touch passing because he looks very good in tight spaces. His header to spring Townsend free is an assist I believe; showed great bravery all match. Future captain IMO

Mason 9
- Is Co-MOTM possible? I can't really be bothered as to which one gets it between Nabil and him. They absolutely bossed the midfield and dictated tempo all match. Everyone knows, even the opposition, how busy of a player he is...so good. How can people only see that he is "average" or only decent??!! He is getting better every game and the partnership with Nabil is blossoming right before our eyes. He smashed his goal in very very well. I'd actually like to see him played in the #10 spot when he, Bentaleb, and Dembele are on the pitch because I think he offers better shooting and better passing.

Chadli 7 - Took his goal very well. I really liked his movement around the final third he seemed to be popping up in a lot of places and pulling defenders. I hope this was him rounding back into form because we need him.

Eriksen 8 - Quietly very good tonight. Some of the balls he played, even if they didn't come off, were really nice and showed great vision. I'm not seeing the view of the proponents who want him on the left side...I think he can disappear more easily over there. He needs to grab the game by the balls more when he plays in the middle, for sure, but I thought tonight he played very well. He was in the middle of everything. I think his assist for Mason's goal was fortunate, but he made a good run so I think he deserves it. I would like to see him be more aggressive in shooting, but I thought his passing and creation was better tonight so I'll take the trade-off.

Townsend 7
- I don't know what Poch said to him at half time, but it must not have been for children's ears. Whatever talk he got from the gaffer he deserved because besides his one shot on goal in the beginning of the 1st he was absolutely terrible. He took his goal brilliantly (on the left, mind you), however, and for that and the rest of his 20 second half minutes he deserves another start. I still maintain that he should play on the left and I know many have called for it. I think it needs to happen, but I'm not sure if Chadli is going to be as good on the right. hmmm point of discussion.

Kane 7
- I think he lacked service and was a pit ponderous on the ball. Still solid however.

Subs:

Dembele 6.5 - Came in and did a good job maintaining our hold on the game. I like him more in the center of the park with Bentaleb when he is on because I thought they showed a really good partnership against Chelsea. When they are on together, Bentaleb needs to be given more attacking freedom.

Davies 5.5 - 25% at fault for Siggy's goal because I thought he was way too close to the CBs. His cross across the goal for Soldado was well placed but too fast.

Soldado 6.5
- I liked what he was trying. He is well deserved to be the back up striker for me. Barely missed on the header and Davies cross was too fast for him IMO. I really like how clever he is with his passing.

I'm very pleased with the team I thought they did well to get the three points. Individual errors caused the two goals - what else is new? We must be much better but a lot of positives to take away!

Good: Poch, fans, Dier, Townsend, Chadli, Kane

I thought we deserved to win, but a few aspects didn't impress me tonight.

The first half wasn't that bad, we huffed and puffed and did play at a good tempo. For me though we just didn't think enough about what we were doing... Often were guilty of overplaying, and we tried to play a bit wider than we tend to yet no-one really got in the box. I thought we saw tonight what can happen if Kane and Eriksen aren't on top of their game... Kane it didn't really happen for throughout, and Eriksen for me in the first hour was a bit flimsy and passive and although involved, was making poor choices at times and not really stamping his authority on it. The effort was there, the cutting edge, the rather good opening goal aside, wasn't.

Indeed for the second half I don't think much changed, we continued playing with the same energy, we just got a couple of breaks of the ball and managed to finish off those chances very nicely. With the game at 3-1 it looked over, both teams seemed to accept it up until the late drama, and we managed to spray the ball around nicely and put together some good stuff at times.

Without the ball, I really didn't think this was one of our finest nights. Swansea are actually very similar to our teams of the last x amount of years... Neat and tidy with the ball, without it pretty easy to play against. We were no better though, our pressing from the front wasn't great and it was often the case that they worked the ball up the pitch and we were light in midfield and struggling to plug the gaps, with more than one let off. A pretty open game that was reflected in the scoreline.

Defensively we simply have to do better. More individual errors have cost us and we cannot keep conceding every single game. The first goal, an obvious dinked ball in behind takes about three of our players out of the game and then Vertonghen makes a hash of it. That guy seriously needs to wake up, his form in the last few games hasn't been good. The second for me was a consequence of us defending too narrow. Walker gives his man too much room, Davies I'm not sure what he is doing, he follows a man in but should then pass him on. Midfielders edge of the box are nowhere to be seen either... This gave them a way back into the game and we then started panicking a bit and were indebted to Hugo's save at the end. We simply have to improve, both individually and as a unit.

We needed a win, and so that's the main thing tonight, but we have to keep improving and cut some of the errors out.

Lloris - Wouldn't blame him for the first goal. Great sprawling save at the end to ensure we gained all three points. I liked that he was pissed off at how we ended the game.

Walker - Going forward improved in the second half. However some of his decision making, especially when he lets the ball bounce, is fucking annoying. Must still improve.

Dier - Caught out a couple of times, but looks assured and probably our most convincing centre back currently.

Vertonghen - He just needs to be less sloppy. Another very avoidable error, again looked far too casual and a loss of concentration.

Rose - For me, I thought he was best of the bunch. Good cross for the opening goal, assured with the ball at his feet, strong in the tackle. Playing well.

Mason - Took his goal very well. Got better as the game went on and started playing with real confidence.

Bentaleb - Assured game with the ball, and again got better as the match progressed. Don't think our midfield was great when we didn't have the ball tonight, but we have to accept that at times with these two.

Townsend - I thought he was ok in the first half, and didn't deserve as much stick as he was getting. Busy, saw quite a bit of ball and was involved in two or three bits of good play. Took his goal very well and hopefully the confidence boost will do him the power of good.

Chadli - Much improved. Much like Townsend - Busy, saw plenty of ball and came looking for work. His finish for the opening goal was top notch, a lovely cushioned effort.

Eriksen - For the first hour I felt he was involved without really stamping any authority on the game. For me often guilty of a poor choice or overcomplicating things or just ran off it. At 3-1 we decided to stroll it and this suited him and he grew into it.

Kane - Didn't really happen for him. I think he needs to simplify things at times, the pass seems to be the last resort often when he should move it quicker instead of looking for the possibility to go himself. Will have these games though, but a rest in the near future may do him good.

Subs:

Dembele - Did ok. Ideal conditions at 3-1 for his strolling.
Soldado - A tidy cameo. Very unlucky with his header.
Davies - Unlucky with the cross that ran across the six yard box. Partly culpable for the goal though.

Danny Rose was everywhere tonight, attacking, defending. supporting backing up other players and sweeping up after just about everybody, absolutely immense.

Just got back from the game.. very strange evening .. coming off the bloody cup final.. .sadness over Dave MAckay, Gomis went down and we thought somone had hit him first, then Muamba came to mind.. then lots of laughter at half time with the legends telling stories about Mackay.. the goals were all awesome..

we absolutely bossed Swansea but our defence looked really vulnerable for the last 10 mins .. Undecided for MOTM (although Hugo maybe for that save at the end) .. well done to the team.. and a special hello to the old guy sitting in front of me Block D Upper East who repeatedly shouted for Townsend to be subbed first half but didn;t sing at all .. there were two of us singing in the whole block and he got some stick from us

back to Park Lane end for me next time .. but for some reason i suspect this one will be in the memory
