i only managed to catch the second half. But from what i saw Dier for me was MOTM closely followed but Lloris. I thought Townsend did well when he came on as well.

Lloris - 8. Purely for THAT save

Naughton - 7. Played well actually until the sending off

Kaboul - 5. Very shaky and indecisive

Dier - 7. Very calm and got the goal. I wont ejaculate yet like some of u

Rose - 7. troubled by Downing but had a very good game

Bentaleb - 7. Impressive. Good range of passing. Calm player

Capoue - 6.

Eriksen - 5. Careless and lackadaisical

Lamela - 5. Tried but didnt come off. Not effective at all

Lennon - 5. Nothing much as well. No runs, no through pass. Nothing of note.

Adebayor - 5. Not much service. Poor touch at times.

Holtby - 5. Didnt do much the time he was on.

Townsend - 7. Impressive. Made much more of an impact than both lennon n lamela combined, in a shorter time as well.

Kane - 6. Not much time to impress but nice vision to make out Dier's run.

overall performance was flat at times. We can only improve.

I'd put townsend for lennon next game and give lamela another opportunity. Verts to partner Kaboul while dier tp fet another crack at RB

Lloris - 8 - (Would have been joint MOM if it wasn't for his distribution)

Naughton - 7 - (Was never a sending off)
Dier - 9 - (Only fault is that he didn't join us sooner!)
Kaboul - 5 -(I really hope this is a one off poor peformance but I doubt it somehow. Does not look like the Kaboul of old)
Rose - 6 - (Did enough to justify his place but will need to still work on his defending, Quality offence)

Capoue - 8 - DMF - 6 - CB
Bentaleb - 6 - Did well enough on his own once Capoue dropped back)
Lamela - 6 (Before the Subs, the only one who really tried to press)
Erikssen - 5 -(Not up to his standard)
Lennon 5 (He reverted to last season's form)

Adebayor - 5 (First touch, which was few as it was, let him down constantly)
Holtby 7 - (Made the difference with Townsend)
Townsend - 7 (Made the difference with Holtby)
Kane - NET

Dier had a good game from start to finish, obviously MOTM! Only Lloris had a small claim to the MOTM award apart from Dier.

Kaboul was fucking awfull, I mean, really fucking bad. Won nothing in the air and was bullied by Cole the entire time he was on the pitch. Lamela was bad, Eriksen was bad, Adebayor was bad, Lennon was bad.

Townsend and Holtby changed the game when they came on, both should start the next game.

Townsend and Holtby also got the privilege to play most of the game 10 vs 10 against a tired side.

Kaboul looked like a rookie today, his decision making at times was weird.

CAPOUE?!?! No chance, he was very poor. Got thrown off the ball way to easily and looked clumsy and slow. Dier was fantastic and I thought Hugo was his good self. Townsend came on and did well too. Eriksen poor match but credit for the through ball to Eric and Kaboul looking very vulnerable as usual unfortunately. Thought Lamela was poor as well... Hope he kicks on big time!! COYS

Can't believe you got so much neg rep for this post agreed with everything apart from I think was Kane with the through ball to dier

Capoue's blushes were spared on a couple of occasions when he lazily hacked at a couple of balls, one led to the great save from Lloris and another when he passed a simple cut back left edge of the box straight to him to a Wet Sham player in the box, can't have been easy for Kaboul going from RCB to LCB with a makeshift partner.

Same for Bentaleb as he made some big errors at the end that nearly cost us, and was caught too tired to get back on occasion.

Ade was static for large parts of the game, then had bursts of pointless running and still insists upong slowing the game down with 10 touches before he passes. Lennon was Lennon ran about but offered little. Lamela tracked back well but seemed too interested in rolling his foot over the ball and didn't really contribute in an attacking sense.

Rose did ok, Naughton did ok but for the brain fart (why have your hands so high?) but should never have seen red.
Eriksen didn't really do much and a lot of the fluid movement we've seen in pre-season was just not there for most of today with 10 or 11.

Even Kane made some sloppy tired passes and he'd only been on a few minutes.
I'll give it to Dier, for playing well in 2 positions and the winning goal. Lloris made a couple of match saving saves but his kicking again left us all having kittens, and the unnecessary (heavy) touches he takes led to a few scares...
Townsend looked lively when he came on having our first real attempts but quickly ran out of puff.
And Holtby looked spent very quickly too, although maybe as most of the team were shot by this point after playing 10 V 11 Townsend/Kane and Holtby had to work that bit extra...

Still a lot of work to do with this group but i'm sure Poch will have learned a lot from today, well i hope.

Mate we played for 60mins away to a team who beat us 3 times last season with 10men. It was our first game too under a new regime and all you can do is pick out negatives.

You say Kane made some sloppy passes but he also got the assist with a great ball and vision. For what it's worth while I didn't think he played that well I don't think Lamela is just showboating when he rolls his foot over the ball he is probing trying to look for openings in defence.

I hope you managed to enjoy the win as if you didn't in those circumstances and against west ham I fear for you for the rest of the season. coys

Just bizarre comment to make. You sure you weren't mistaking Kaboul for Capoue?

Also it was Kane who played the through ball to Dier for the goal.

Did you actually watch the game?

Kaboul was v poor and capoue was just poor

Hugo: 8 - That save kept us in it, incredible save it was.

Naughton : 6 - Great save. Shouldn't have been sent off.
Dier: 9 - Solid game in two positions. Incredible Stalteri moment when he rounded Adrian.
Kaboul: 3 - Half the time he looks like the pre-Portsmouth Kaboul, the other half he looks like Lesley towards the end when he couldn't run. Is it fitness? Is it rustiness? Whatever it is, it cost us as his 10 minutes of real poor play in the first half led to the red card ultimately as it put us under pressure.
Rose: 6 - Did well enough, but couldn't deal with the left wing Jesus that is Stuart Downing.

Capoue: 7 - Looked our best player in midfield, then did a good enough job at cb. Having said that, if Hugo hadn't have made that save we would be slating him for his poor half arsed tackle on Downing. Fine lines.
Bentaleb: 7 - Solid and tidy. Doesn't excite me but doesn't disappoint me either.

Lamela: 5 - Poor showing from Eric. Hope he can adjust to the PL soon as we need him to.
Eriksen: 6 - Average show from arguably our best player. Put the effort in when asked to play CM.
Lennon: 5 - OK work rate. That's about it really.

Ade: 6 - Got Collins sent off otherwise it would have been a 4.

Holtby: 7 - Good effort and energy. Would be a 6 but just saw his Facebook status. Extra point for that.
Townsend: 7.5 - Good performance when he came on. Get the feeling once he went close with that shot he was reluctant to stay wide.
Kane: 7 - Made the goal with a nice pass.

Overall it was quite poor. We started well without creating anything, then found ourselves under pressure and down to 10, weathered that well before Foy levelled things. A win is a win, especially against those pikey ****s, so I don't care about the performance at this point. Hope to see a better showing against QPR next week though.

Sorry but I just disagree.
Down to ten men in a derby is about as hard as it comes.
Thought Capoue did well

We only got a hold on the midfield when he was move out of it, poor passing and sluggish, did ok when moved to CB to be fair

Lol I know. Other than the through ball mistake I was only pointing out what I thought... If top dog admin said it it wouldn't be as bad.

Lloris -8 some good saves, as expected quick off his line, distribution was good.

Naughton -6 steady enough, unlucky to be sent off
Dier -8 calm and assured at both cb and rb, goal a real bonus, great engine.
Kaboul-6 played well in stages, still looks a shadow of the player of 2 seasons ago.that point when we brought the ball out and was flinging his arm about, barking orders before being disposed was awful.
Rose-7 steady, did his job well, defended and made some decent attacking runs.

Capoue-6.5 doesn't look a cb, did ok
Bentaleb -6 abit slow with his play but coped ok considering we were light on midfield
Lennon-4 poor, doesn't score goals, not involved in play enough
Eriksen-6 not his best of games, work but not really found his feet yet in this system
Lamela-5, clearly a talent and had a few good moments but looks to casual on the ball and lost possession too often in our own half.

Ade-4 ran around abit, couple of decent bits of link up play but to play as a lone striker he has to offer much more in terms of working the defence, making runs inbehind and holding the ball up, didnt bring others into the game.

Subs:
Townsend-7 gives the ball away, makes some daft decisions but i love his directness and his pace which help up get out of our own half on numerous occasions.
Holtby-6 work hard when he came on and gave us abit more control on the game, still abit indecisive when it matters.
Kane-6.5 great ball for the goal, worked hard when he came on, deserves more minutes.

Not seen anything of the game yet but the fact that people are talking of Loris as a contender for man of the match worries me.

Should I be worried?!
