Worst performance this season.
Every player looked bad no exceptions.
On the plus side only 1 goal conceded and that could be very important at the end of the season.
And hopefully that's the crap performance out of the way.

We played on a poor field against an entire team of Dembélés and in pouring rain.
We entered a battlefield and lost because too many players were having an off day.

A disappointment but everyone knew it would be a really hard match.
We're still in the race nonetheless and it was the first really poor performance in ages, so I still believe in our young lads!

Voted Eriksen btw. Not that he was amazing by any standard and his defensive contribution was non existing. But at least he tried to keep tempo in the passes, had a nice shot on goal and a couple of great crosses under terrible work conditions.

Throttled at birth tonight,
Shame but is not the end of the world or much more importantly, the season.
Other results lessen the impact fortunately.

At least we saved money on the MOM award.
with special mention in the 'none deserved' column of:
Chadli, Son, Kane possibly Wimmer Lloris the fullbacks and Dier.
If I had the energy I would make my world famous dire joke
but it doesn't seem appropriate right now.
Plenty of matches left to go on another winning run starting on Saturday.

Lloris - 4. Had far too many poor touches that almost gave away goals, and his distribution was poor.

Davies - 3. Poor defensively, poor offensively. His shot was abysmal. Got embarrassed by Lanzini.

Wimmer - 4. He wasn't good enough today, and he could've been sent off.

Alderweireld - 5. Not up to his usual standard, not even close.

Trippier - 6. Didn't do much noteworthy, good or bad.

Mason - 4. He was invisible for most of the game. Showed a bit of desire, unlike others, but was poor.

Dier - 4. He's definitely dropped off since the start of the season, and this game was his worst so far. Didn't control the midfield at all.

Chadli - 3. He created nothing, and made two mistakes that lead to us going behind. Seems to work better as a sub.

Eriksen - 6. He had a few decent moments, and created the best chance of the game. But he wasn't brave enough to get stuck in.

Lamela - 5. Lots of effort, a few decent moments on the ball, but there was no end product today.

Kane - 3. He was invisible for most of the game, only appearing to miss good chances. We need another striker for days like this.

Alli - 6. We looked a lot better once he came on, but it wasn't enough.

Son - 5. Did very little once he came on. Blasted a shot over, but later made a decent tackle.

Carroll - 3. Not suited to this game at all.

Pochettino - 3. Outdone tactically by Bilic in the first half, and took too long to change things up.

that sort of game we really need dembele. So he gets my MOTM for highlighting why he is so important to us in certain matches.

I guess Toby was the best of a bad bunch. So many poor performances, top of the list chadli. First half trippier, mason and dier were woeful. Mason got better second half. Lamela was at least trying and a couple of things almost came off, I think he should have stayed on. Kane really needs a good game soon, did next to nothing.

The ref was a joke. Extremely biased. Kept booking our players, theirs would get away with a lot, and generally just wouldn't give us anything.

lets get the win on Saturday and move onwards and upwards. Sort it out lads.

All were poor to shit. Chadli had a minute of losing his mind and cost us the goal. Keep it 0-0 until 20 and I reckon we get something out of that. Not scapegoating Chadders at all as he was just as shit as lots of our other players but it was just so sloppy

Lamela has gone from being underrated to being overrated. I have no idea how people think he had a good game. His first touch was poor, his passing was off and he made some bad decisions. He quite honestly looked like the old Lamela. He looks lively because he works hard to get the ball back when he loses it and that happens a lot. He also fouls a lot for an offensive player.

Also Alli had a poor game. He lost the ball almost every time he tried to do something. I have no idea how anyone can think that he had a good game. He gave the balm away all the time.

Maybe it was because of other players having an even worse game. Davies, Trippier, Wimmer, Chadli, Kane and Son was all abysmal tonight. One of our worst performances this season.

Apart from Toby not much on offer.
Lamela and Mason showed heart at least, but the worst performance I've seen from Davies, Wimmer, Dier, eriksen, Kane, Son, Alli, Lloris

and don't even mention what Chadli was doing out there (didn't even look like he gave a shit let alone trying to make up for that cluster fuck at the beginning which as it turns out was the match winner)

Too many players not turning up for a Derby means it's impossible to get a positive result.

They need to (Scouse voice) "Give their ed a wobble!"

Expect them to come out like starved tigers at 11 wounded Antelopes against the Scum.

Eriksen created a few good chances so I'll give it to him. Not too concerned about the result, when we have put in crap performances like that (Leicester, Newcastle) we have always bounced back with a bang.

Trippier 5 Really poor
Davies 6 ok
Wimmer 6 ok
Alderwiereld 7 played well
Mason 5 Fumbled his way through the game
Dier 5 Some poor passing
Eriksen 6 Tried to make things happen
Chadli 3 Gave away stupid corner for the goal and back to the bench for him
Lamela 6 Worked hard
Kane 4 Hot potato style

Alli 6 did ok
Son 4 nuttin
Carrol 4 nothing to see here

West Ham played well first half and we missed Dembele big time tonight.

A shittt night made bearable by the other results. Leicester not winning is huge- the Arse and City slipping up softens the blow. Now we go back on a six or seven game winning spree and we're back

Only saw the second half and last 5 mins of the first...

We were marginally the better team in the second, not great, uncomposed and awful movement at times. There were gaping holes especially inbetwixt their modfield and the wide 2 of their 3 backs. no one seemed to run into that space or wanted to, seemed shy at times, they obviously wanted to win, but couldnt demonstrate the want enough.

feel we should of played a traditional 433 and pushed the wide men up top wide and made kane earn his money playing 9 & 10, in almost a midfield diamond with runners coming from midfield areas.

Seems Kane has stopped running into the channels. Last year we saw him make a number of plays coming in from the corner stick. I would like to see more movement from him.

Also his touches have been unlucky? IDK if unlucky is the word, but his touches used to just work out for him and now they are just bouncing around all erratic and such.

Absolutely horrific performance. Lamela and Eriksen were the best of a bad bunch. Why Lamela was taken off is mind boggling. But the game was lost after they went ahead anyway. Just never looked like scoring and our main problem was so bloody obvious from the beginning. Too bad it took Poch until the 60' mark to make the change that probably should have been made at like 20'

What tonight proved to me was the Walker and Rose are the guys for the big games, especially away, and Davies and Tripper are more suited to the easier home games.

Chadli, I've tried to big the guy up but giving away that needless corner and losing his man... Very poor.

The extra day's rest and the lack of a midweek game last week showed in West Ham's freshness.

Kane needs a better mask, a proper black one like Costa wears, as he hasn't been great in this one.

Just need to get the job done against Arsenal and move on.

On that performance, these upcoming games against Dortmund look a lot less appetizing and you worry how much they'll effect what should be straightforward games following each of them.

I'll give my MOTM to Toby for at least having a go with the shots he tried.

I generally agree with this although I'd change Kane to a 5 as he got no service, downgrade Alli to a 5 because he kept giving away silly fouls which helped West Ham break up play and give Carroll a N/A as he didn't really get much chance to make a difference.

Davies was utterly shocking. Trippier was poor, Lloris's kicking was shocking. Chadli was completely at fault for their goal. Thought Eriksen and Lamela were actually good but with no help. Pochettino was hungover

Eriksen just about the best player on our side.

That changed when Alli came on. Dele is miles ahead of the rest.

I think he's knackered. Mentally and physically lacking sharpness.
