You say that...but obviously for a team to finish above us they had to do that and more.

We are legends because we are the only team with a squad of players capable of competing for trophies that never actually win anything. That tag will rightly stick until we get over the line and win a major trophy.

The issue is that we have never actually gone out and proved the doubters wrong in the final analysis.

When we lift trophy we can stick two fingers up at all the doubters - until then we have to take our medicine.

To be fair I'd rather be up there than irrelevant.
The club has underachieved on the trophy front for a long time now and despite the efforts of the club and players past and present are unable to get trophy success over the line.
The only way to look at it I suppose is that if we are ever to win something again maybe the flood gates will open and we have a successful period for a number of years unlikely but we can cling to that belief.

Nope - just a very average side.
In any case I don't consider the league cup a major trophy, although I'd like us to win it all the same.

Right so Liverpool haven't won a major trophy since 2005, Man utd haven't won a major trophy since 2013 and Arsenal haven't won a major trophy since 2003, would you call them legends?

Well yes generally when teams have 5/6 players out squads tend to be paper thin...
Seriously, is it a surprise to you that Dembele and Wanyama are out injured?
Dembele told us the prem was too much for him last season and Wanyama just refuses to accept his career is over.

Vertonghen and Alderweireld are at an age when they will get injures - it was entirely predictable at least one would be out for a good few weeks this season. But we have pretty good cover here.

Dier being injured is plain unlucky, but Winks being back and pretty mobile is lucky as is the return of Lamela - on good form too. Rose being largely available and quite fit is another unexpected bonus.

To be fair I don't think MP has blamed bad luck for this result, because I don't think that stands up.

Surely Nuno is the new Sean Dyche or Owen Coyle etc etc etc flavour of the hour/day/year

He’s a million miles away from managing a 'Tottenham' at this time in his career

A couple more years in the Prem and throw in some European competition and let’s see how he’s doing...

He has managed in European competition hasn't he? He did well at valencia and OK at Porto. I know he won manager if the month a few times at valencia and has beaten real Madrid and maybe barca too.

He's no novice. The wolves job was very beneath him when he signed.

Arsenal have Won the FA cup 3 times in the last 5 years no?

Utd won the FA cup under Van Gaal 3 years ago and have also won the Europa league and league cup.

We have won nothing since 2008 and no major trophy since 1991.

Liverpool have been legends in recent years losing a few finals and falling over when near the title.

Is this really up for debate?

1st half we were comfortable without creating too many chances bar a few pot-shots that went close, wolves didn't threaten a great deal other than the odd traore run. 2nd half they were well on top though and were pinning us back, was obvious we needed to change something and poch took the right player off(dele wasn't having the best of games) but replaced him with lucas which made us lose control even more. they scored, we tried to play on the front-foot but a poor pass from eriksen(?) led to a wolves attack which ended up with the ball trickling into the bottom corner. we pushed for an equaliser, though never actually created anything tangible, wolves latched onto another poor ball from trippier(?) and sent the striker through on goal to slot past lloris. we got what we deserved from the game.

Thank You my friend. I haven't watched any highlights and don't plan too. Thank you for your detailed summary ???

I didn't know you were counting the FA Cup as a major trophy or the Europa league but okay then...

So in your world Wigan weren't legends when they won the cup in 2013 because they won a major trophy?

But the point still stands, why are we seen as legends when Liverpool haven't won a trophy since 2011, they've even played in more finals than us over that period and haven't won anything?

The problem with throwing a term like that out without thinking about it is that you're missing quite a lot of context:
Why should our squad be guaranteed to win something when there's only 3 major trophies that you can win and there's 6 top teams going for them, 5 have better resources than us?

Why are we judged alongside richer teams who either have histories of winning things or backed by oil? How comes we're seen as legends if we don't win a trophy when we have the least advantage compared to them?

How comes you don't see clear progression in the league over the last few seasons as tangible evidence of us turning the corner as a club or the fact that to win a major trophy and to compete consistently it requires a strong backbone first?

Why do you follow the social media narrative which is continually said by simple minded fans unable to find anything else to mock us with?
