Toby probably would of had it, Kroos had a lot to do before scoring, not sure it was necessary, should of stayed on his feet and tried to get in front of him, not lung in from an impossible angle. Aurier had a great game, but it was a poor decision and he clearly has problems with remaining disciplined. His red card the other day another example of rashness that can hurt a team.
At the time Serge wasn't to know that "Toby probably would have had it" so I disagree. Because a player probably had a lapse in judgement doesnt make him indiscipline. If he was indiscipline then he would not have had the game he had by keeping one the best, if not the best LB in the world Marcelo in his pocket. I hope it isn't another unfair label now being attributed to another of our players

But he should of known that there was cover, it wasn't like as straightforward as Kroos was ready to tap it in for a goal. If he felt he had to take him down in anyway he could, he needed to use his body, go in with a shoulder, try and get in front of him, not lunge in. He had no right to he was nowhere near the ball.

By discipline I mean the ability to not let emotions or instant reactions dictate your play. That was an example, another example was the red card which is just a crazy thing to do. We have had players who had similar problems, Lamela sticks to mind. Poch worked it out of him.

Nothing to do with the ability to prevent world class players to get through him. He is exceptional defender, I really think that, but he has not yet shown himself to be a 'great player' because his judgment and lapses have been a significant feature of his play for us so far. He is still young enough and has time to develop and grow, and it might be that he is being a bit rash because he is eager to impress. But either way, he made a mistake the other night. Its okay, everyone makes mistakes but he needs to grow from it.

You are correct but he is entitled to his non Spurs fan opinion. Lineker was asking questions which required an opinion and he is paid to answer them.

Yeah I'm not arguing that though, it's the insistence in saying that he's right just because he's been there before which is wrong.

We managed the game really well as it went on. RM were tiring out, their crowd was restless and muted. I couldn't even believe the Bernabeu could be so quiet!

I never expect to feel this, but when it was 85th minutes, I was hoping we can have another 10 minutes more. Similarly when only 3 minutes of stoppage time were given, I was quite disappointed too. There was no nervousness that we might concede and lose. There was more feeling of us grabbing the winner and becoming victorious.

He should HAVE. Please. It's the one grammar error that completely does my nut in because it just makes absolutely no sense.

I know, I know. I should put this in the opponents' fans thread. ;)

You do know he played an integral part for our goal, don't you? Anyway if Kroos had scored because Serge had not made that "rash decision" he would have been ridiculed by you. Yes Trippier didn't play and thank fuck for that.

Exactly!

I don't ridicule anyone,unlike you.
Aurier was good yesterday apart from the penalty but I take issue at the poster saying trippier is not at our level and aurier and kwp should be ahead of him

The day after we matched Real Madrid at their place, and in the match thread people are bickering over nothing. Some things never change...

We just showed the whole world that we can go toe to toe with anyone, anywhere. It's not a feeling I get very often as a Spurs fan, but you folks who have already found a way to ruin it for yourselves are obviously more used to it than I am...not sure how that works, but there you are.

We just completely matched Real in the Bernabeu, in the CL - and could have beaten them. Some people don't seem to realise just how big that is.

I think it doesn't feel as big for some people because the progress has been so gradual and so consistent. A one-off like the Redknapp teams's win in San Siro can somehow feel a lot bigger.

Who did I ridicule? Saying that one player is better or you prefer one over another is not ridiculing its just stating your preference. You have Trippier as first choice and who to say that you arent correct?

There will be games where I think Trippier would be a better fit and vice versa. Playing against Marcelo isn't one of them. So take all the issue you want, that wont make Trippier be appreciated any better or worse

I missed the game last night as I had no power! Hurricane Ortheila. Anyone know if there is somewhere I can download preferably the whole game but at least the highlights? I have looked at the Sky listings but just see a CL highlights game lasting 15 mins of all the games from last night!

Still buzzing about that performance. We didn't look out of place at that level at all. Held the CL title holders in their own backyard.

A landmark performance for this team.

Yes I know it was on BT Sports? I was asking if there was anywhere I could see the full game or at least extended highlights. As I said, I looked at the listings on Sky and all they have is a 15 min show of all the games from Tuesday, so basically just the goals.

Sorry, I thought you meant you were trying to find it on sky sports.

Do you have the BT Sport app? If so you can watch the entire match on there.

Damn, so wish I got to watch this but super proud of the performance. Great to see us do this with all the injuries still, great to see Sissoko put in such a performance, great to see Winks put in a mature display (loved his use of the body to shield off Benzema for the goal), great to see Lloris put in such a performance, great to see Rose return and just great to see such an organised and professional display against one of Europe's best.

Also thinking we’ve done this without Wanyama and Dembele who were our rock last season, Davies who’s been great, Dele Alli, Lamela, Son (who was only on for a few minutes) and Rose not starting is pretty damn immense. To not have any of those players starting and coming away with a point and such a display against the European champions is crazy.

This could be the result that finally makes our players realise just how good they are together and how high the ceiling is for them all. We've challenged for the title the last 2 seasons. Time to go 1 better.
