And one more thing, I very much doubt he would want to go back to pompey!!...not even Harry can save those poor bastards...

not when we have Defoe, Crouch and Kranjcar here now. He would have to wait untill jan transfer window to get them back

'Arry ain't goin'!

As for the 'Arry bangin' Dans' missus' conspiracy post (I kow it was a joke: 'Wot you mean, it wereen't':eek:mg:); another goer could be that Dan has just inadvertently got himself addicted to 'manager-sack' - no, that's no something to do with Graeme Sounness being a ball-bag! Maybies,Dan just can't control 'imself these days, and not pushing the button on 'Arry was testing his resolve just way too much:wink:

Unless there is some tart down at the Met who fancied making a few bob by putting down some money on it... Just saying.

You are wrong. If this is a result of a long-standing investigation then there will be a lot of people within the Police and CPS who would be 'in the know'. Both the Police and CPS have been known to delibately leak arrests to journalists in advance and individuals in both organisations would not be above having a bet based on 'insider' information.

Apart from the fact that that is a serious disciplinary breach constituting gross misconduct. As a Civil Servant myself, I can tell you that is punishable by immediate dismissal.

Furthermore, even if Harry were about to be arrested, how will the police or CPS officer know that it would result in Harry's sacking? Being arrested by the police rarely leads to an employee being sacked. Even being charged is not always enough to bring about termination of a contract.

To suggest that a WPC or CPS officer would jeopardise their career on the slim chance that an arrest would lead to Redknapp's sacking, I think is slightly absurd.

well, its October and its Spurs, so it makes sense.

Which is probably how the whole thing got started. Some moron thought he was on a winner because we just happened to have sacked our last two managers in consecutive Octobers and thought they'd put a bet on. I doubt there's been much action on Harry getting the boot over the last month or so, so when the bet came in, the bookies cut their odds and the cycle began.

Let's be clear. Even in the case of arrest, there is no reason to believe that Redknapp would be automatically sacked. Furthermore, the CPS are not involved in a case until after an individual has been charged with an offence. Has Redknapp actually been charged with an offence?

And even if Harry were charged with a crime, it still does not automatically follow that he would be sacked by his employer. I would imagine that he has a disrepute clause in his contract, which the club may choose to activate in the case of being charged, but would almost certainly not in the case of a simple arrest.

Even if he were charged with a crime, and the club activates a supposed disrepute clause, then they are on shakey ground, for the simple fact that if a case went to trial and he were found innocent, then he could sue the club for wrongful dismissal.

So let's put the panic aside, ladies and gentlemen. Let's see how accurate this 'rumour' turns out to be before imagining horror situations befalling the club. My guess would be that this rumour is about as accurate as a blind archer whose just has his fingers cut off.

I may have missed earlier posts (so apologies if already mentioned), but the most likely source of the odds shortening is the betting syndicate scam where lots of bets are placed with rumors spread to create momentum. This is done at the end of the week as their is little activity on odds moving as to "which manager will go next" with no matches having been played, this causes eyebrows to raise further and momentum builds. The people placing the original bets then bet the other way and clean up. Its just the same tactic traders used to use to artificially build up or slash a share price based on spreading rumors on a stock before bailing out or buying in with a profit. This stopped when the regulators got sophisticated systems to track this and it now it carries a prison sentence. With talk sport, sky and other medium using the betting companies on a daily basis to fill their need for news these movements artificially created by the small bets in a quiet time start to snowball and 100s of posts appear on places like this forum giving credibility to nonsense. Genius really for those that have probable just raked in lots of cash by Harry just staying put !!!!

I think that that guess is wrong and that the club are currently seeking legal advice over a situation concerning Harry.

rumours on COYS now are that choice is Harry's, doesn't want to drag Spurs down with him and may involve us being docked a record number of points

I'm really confused now and worried that he is odds on now to be 1st manager to go

The club are almost certainly taking advice right now and there is a very good chance thet Redknapp will go on Monday.

That is second hand to me from somebody who I know is very friendly with a board member.
