Tottenham want £7million-rated Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy, whose Eastlands future has been thrown in doubt by Roberto Mancini's summer spending spree.

Manager Harry Redknapp has been asked to be kept informed about Bellamy's situation following the £24m arrival of Spanish World Cup player David Silva at City.

Bellamy is likely to head a list of Eastlands departures that will include Stephen Ireland, Nigel de Jong and Roque Santa Cruz.

Besides Bellamy, Redknapp is also looking at Brazil's Roma striker Julio Baptista.

Doesn't Bellamy wants to stay North West for family reasons? I thought he had said this last month about the time we were being linkied with him following our win at City when after the game there was an open admiration look going on between them on the park after the match.

I think Ballamy would be good if we play 5 in midfield when playing away, a formation i think Harry needs to consider. All the top teams play this way and maybe we should be trying it. If we get him or Cole then i'd like to see Wilson, Lennon, Hudd & modric join them in the middfield.

Yidoinoz what an excellent post and now that you've mentioned it, the combinations make perfect sense

7 mill isnt a bad deal... not a huge fan of him though...
  5. Twizzle
he's not an improvement on what we already have

    I couldn't agree more.

We have Gareth Bale wide on the left, so why squander precious funds on Bellamy?
  7. Michey
    Please NO!!!!
  8. davidmatzdorf
Bellamy is mainly a striker who plays on the left only in a 4-3-3 formation and both Bale and Redknapp have confirmed recently that they see Bale's future at left back.

No, he is no improvement on the present squad.

    Man Citeh's cast off?

    Bollocks.
  11. northampton_yid
Hardly a cast off. Was proabably Citeh's best player last season even if the manager cannot realise it. I'd take him in a instant. Him and Bale down the left would destroy teams.

Please no!!! We could do without him and his attitude.

    Hey, its you, from F365!!!

No dont want him thanks, we have players of the same or better quality at the club, and besides that he is a trouble maker.

I thought bellamy had kind of ruled himself out of a move down south? I really wouldn't want him at Spurs.

So much short-sightedness. Definitely, yes please

Does anyone seriously not believe this guy is an improvement on what we have?

People seem to forget that half of our games are played away from home.

Not what I wanted to see on return from holidays.
Good player but trouble on and off the pitch wherever he has been.
Not what we need with a young squad which has come together well over the past 18 months.
If Gio stays then the last thing we need is an irritant like Bellamy around the more impressionable members of the team.
There are other considerations besides football ability and price. when building a squad.
Apart from that he's getting on, is injury prone, and not a player that we desperately need even if he is cheap.
    No more stop gaps please.
Short sightedness is in the eye of the beholder.

For those who keep stating we already have a player for that position; we are building a SQUAD, people....this means cover for every position if possible and higher quality cover means competition for positions.
Also we can rotate within the squad and also, in the case of Cup games, play rested players there.
I do take your point re: "trouble on and off the pitch" 'Jimmy...' I see a lot of this as 'fighting for the cause' though....maybe we need some more passion on the team?

Always rated him would love to see him at Spurs!
