In-demand striker wants to move to England.

The agent of Loic Remy has told skysports.com that the in-demand Nice striker could move to a new club by the middle of next week.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is understood to have watched the 23-year-old in France's midweek friendly with Norway, and representatives of Chelsea, Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham, and Everton were also thought to be in attendance.

Remy, who has held talks with Stoke, starred for Nice as he scored the decisive goal as they came from behind to defeat Lorient 2-1 on Saturday night, when Premier League scouts were understood to have been in France.

Marseille have also shown interest, but his representative, Frederic Guerra, believes that negotiations regarding the forward are likely to progress in the coming days and that England is a preferred destination.

Guerra told skysports.com: "Marseille are interested, but Loic still wants to move to England.

"I fully expect movement by the middle of next week."

Aside from Chelsea I can understand why all those watching clubs may want an unpdated striker in their ranks. Chelsea, though confounds. Unless Drogba is on his way...

Really rate this Kid. He looks to have pace & a killer strike. Really reminds me of a young Th***y H***y. Lol Would do a job & could be a star in the future.

completely unrelated but just watching the scum and lpool, and when it cut to the ad break it done the whole chapions league theme tune and had our beloved spurs on there gave me goosebumps already! haha

I haven't seen enough of Remy to judge, but looks quick and strong. Can only assume that Redknapp views this guy as an alternative to Bellamy - pacey striker who can play up front and on the wing - and a replacement for Keane or Crouch.

I dont think levy will release any funds untill we are in the CL propper and suspect we'll miss out on him if this 'middle of next week' thing is true.

Roger Morgan on SO (A very well respected ITK) has said we have a £12m bid in for him. Which ties in with this story pretty well.

Depends on if someone is about to be sold, one out one in, that way Levy won't need to release any extra funds. Can't see Harry signing another striker whilst we already have four on the books. I heard a rumour that Villa are still in for Keane, also Pav interesting Marseille (since they're about to miss out on Remy??), maybe one of our strikers is on his way out and Remy is the replacement....? It was said on here recently that Huntelaar was on the cards, but wouldn't be done whilst we still had four strikers.

On that subject though, Harry keeps talking about having 2/3 marquee signings lined up, the sort of major player that will push us onto the next level, I assume/hope things are in hand to get these players and that Levy is just waiting to see if we make it to the Champions League proper before giving the green light, else we'll stay as we are or maybe sign a second tier of player instead (C.League=Huntelaar or No C.League = Bellamy etc).

When i read the headline i thought he was about to have a poo!!!

now that stoke have signed Kenwyne Jones, I doubt they'll fund another big money striker move.

The difference this season is that we are going for marquee players, not the very good players that we are used to going for. That means we are competing not with Villa and Everton etc but with the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal (ie J. Cole). It is going to be much harder to get these players (unless you have bucket loads of cash to throw at them).

I know people will point to Bellamy who is not wanted by the "big 4" but HR obvioulsy likes him and he knows what he wants and what the team needs. City won't sell to us (Fair enough I wouldn't want to sell to City) so I think that is a moot point.

Would love for us to get the 2-3 signings that we need (Dzeko and a CB) to really kick on and go for the premiership but how good is it that the team is settled, we are not under threat of losing players and the team will benefit from the stability a lot more because of it.

I tend to agree, but "middle of next week" could coincide with after the away leg, when we could (fingers crossed) by all but there.

No thanks, getting a bit peeved off with seeing this bloke every hour on SSN scoring the same goal, his stats over the last four seasons are pretty dire, I would say Bent's better!
We either get a top notch striker in (someone who is better than what we already have) or stick with what we have.

First time potentially in the CL, lets go for proven quality.
