Nice striker set to join French rivals.

Nice striker Loic Remy appears set to join Ligue 1 rivals Marseille after 'sudden' developments over his future.

Remy had been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League earlier this summer, with West Ham, Stoke, Liverpool and Tottenham all showing an interest.

German club Hoffenheim and Marseille entered the race later on and it now seems he will be on his way to Stade Velodrome.

Remy held talks with Marseille boss Didier Deschamps on Wednesday afternoon and reports in France suggest the two clubs are close to concluding a €15million (£12.4m) deal.

Marseille's sporting director Jose Anigo and managing director Antoine Veyrat are in Nice to try and tie up the deal in time for Remy to make his debut against Lorient on Saturday.

    Happy and proud

It is thought that Hoffenheim are prepared to offer more money but Nice president Gilbert Stellardo does not want to go against the player's wishes.

Remy is pleased that the uncertainty surrounding his future seems to be coming to an end.

He said: "I am extremely happy and proud that Marseille are interested in me. After having waited a long time for my transfer, things have really speeded up this afternoon.

"It's very sudden, I was surprised. Rather than time for reflection I need a little time to adapt to the situation, but it's looking good."

He added: "Didier Deschamps telephoned me this afternoon to say that I needed to work very hard and that he would be there to support me."

Another one we'll lose by dragging our heels.. I think he was 2nd choise if we dont get Fabiano and that depends on next weds night.

Funny window this one, CL has fkd us about a bit in a strange way.

Yeah I know what you mean, like you said, it's because Levy and Redknapp are waiting on the outcome of the CL draw.

But with Fabiano playing tonight for Sevilla, he is now cup-tied?

The new rules say that, if Sevilla go through to the group stages of the CL, Fabiano is cup tied if he played for Sevilla in the preliminary rounds. If Sevilla go out and drop down to the Europa League, then Fabiano is not cup-tied for the CL.

I'm coming around to the idea that it would be better if the transfer window closed prior to the opening weekend of the season. There's an appearance of indecision about us at the moment - I can't know if this is the case internally - but potential targets don't hang around waiting for one of our results. It probably is sensible to wait and see. But the potential upside in bargaining position offered by CL footy might be undermined by the short time frame to hammer a deal out. And decent targets may be long gone.

Im just looking at the boy Sandro win the Copa Libertores. Delassandro still is a top player.
To be honest Sandro has not been in the game much but he looks really quick & confident on the ball.

Combative would be the way i would describe him on this game. But definately fast on the ground. Inter also have a tidy frontman called Tyson he looks the biz.

Anyway looks like he will be comin to spurs a champion. its 4am so im off to bed. COYS!!!!!

Pele is handing out the medals & alot of the players are in tears they & Pele look proper chuffed.

A good look for us. Ps Sandro looks a steal if Chelsea paid 17 mil for Ramires.

Sounds more likely then that Suarez may still be available, as Ajax are not looking good atm and Dynamo Kyiv may yet do them in 2nd leg.

I expect Sevilla to go through after the home leg. They have just beaten Barca 3-1 in Spanish Supercup with Messi playing, and were unlucky to lose 1-0 to Braga there.
