Not only that, but he's respected more than anyone at or to do with the club. Certainly with the fans. I've never known a player be respected to such a degree before.

He’s a cock.

Flatters I mean, Ledley is King

Official report.

* I originally thought our LB was Yuri Bechiche, so was relieved to see from the official site it wasn't.

Thnaks for the report BOF. Always appreciated.

I was surprised to see Martin playing at leftback, with natural fullbacks Riley and Berciche on the bench. I know Joe has played there most of the season, but his preferred position is central midfield, which is an area where the team selection looked light. How did we line up in midfield, I am guessing:

Roultedge - O'Hara - Rose - Townsend

How did Townsend look? And if Rose was playing in the centre, was he any cop there?

So?

I think he's a passenger, being an ambassador doesn't come into it.

replace dawson with who exactly he is the only centre half we have who stays injury free and dont forget has been playing with a right back chimbonda who thinks his right wing kaboul who is the clumsiest player ever and reminds me of dean richards. countless different formations all the time.

i dont understand how people can slate the young lad..:bang:

Unless you are top top draw like Ledley is i think all CB's can look vulnerable when next to and behind players who don't do thier jobs well enough. CB's need to be able to make decisons with confidence (or even better no decsisions) Close down pleayes the or cover zones. Mark a player or leave yourself availbel to track or cover another runner. Dawson is an excellent CB when his job is simplified but having to run a back line next to a series of poor CB's and behind an often headless CM has taken it's toll. I don't think he's a passenger in the sinister way you're implying but i do think he's often taxied into impossible situations by technical inability beside and infront of him.

The first goal against Alborg - Dawson hesitated becasue recent hsitroy has left doubt in his mind that if he closed down the ball and the player passes square, he's likely to have not been backed up. If a CB is forced into a decision he's usually damned eitherway. With Ledley, Dawson knows he can go win a ball or close down a player qucikly and if he misses the tackle or loses the header or the player passes the ball, Ledley King will be in the right place to cover him.

People say Ledley makea a bad defender look good but I think in this case he allows a good defender to be good.

on another note, Barcham is making his first start for Leyton O tonight (they are losing 0-1 to Millwall atm)

That's how it finished. According to O's manager Martin Ling:

Our performance was poor, probably the worst of the season. If I am honest the only players who came out with a little credit were Glenn Morris and Andy Barcham.

He might have done better with some of the chances he had but at least he had chances.

How does attending the reserve games work? Some of the posters casually said things like "umm, yeh, if I'm bothered I will go and watch the game today" which to me says it is casual to the extent of being free. I would have thought there was some charge and ticket stuff involved because some of the games could be popular. And where are the home games played at???

Unbelieveable isn't it. There's Dawson, all dopey grin, not defending very well and there's us slating him for not defending.

It's a fucking crazy world eh ?

Waffle.

Good defenders look good regardless of who they're playing with. They still come out of games with credit because they do their job properly. If all manner of shit is going on around you, it doesn't mean your game should fall apart.

We shouldn't just have someone who requires a world class centre back to cover up their inefficiencies. It's all to easy to blame surrounding players. You could blame other players all day long.

Dawson has been playing Premiership football for 2 and half years. He's not wet behind the years, he's not a novice. How much longer should you give him? 5 years, 10 years? Or only play him when King is fit?

Dawson's only had 11 fewer first-class starts than Gardner, who's been at Spurs seven years. The 'inexperience' card is getting decidedly dog-eared. For me it's been less the mistakes this season, more his failure to take command since he and Kaboul have been the only centre-halves available. He just gives the impression of being completely clueless at times.

Yeah, his dopey expression can't help his cause for that either.

And my question wasn't answered!

They do charge for tickets, but it's about a tenner, and it never sells out so you can just pop along and have a watch.

Good defenders can be put into lose/lose situations very easily.

you're point I put in bold sums up the fact you don't understand what i'm saying. King wouldn't be covering up inefficiencies, by King being there dawson wouldn't have inefficencies. The freedom and confidence he would have to make the right decsision would leave no inefficiencies.

King wasn't constanlty sweeping up after Dawson. Dawson was doing his jobs well and Ledley was doing his very well.

I'm still waiting for the ITKs to come out again, and persist that "Ledleys going to announce his retirement" or "Ledleys had another setback" bollox.
