Retrospective bans for diving

Because the punishment only comes into play if you benefit from the dive. Dele isn't good enough at falling over yet for refs to be convinced by it, when he is the bans will come

My 2 cents about dele and diving...

I don't think he dives... he likes a trailing his foot and trying to get contact and going down easy.

What he does is he shifts the ball to a side and leaves his other leg where the ball was and a defenders leg might juz catch him and down the goes.
Which his what players do.

Or else he might intentionally run into the path of a defender to force a foul.

He isn't the only one that does that... heck even messi does it.

And with regards to the diving panel.... he did get a touch. They can give a ban unless it's a clear dive.

Don't think that will catch on as a synonym for diving, it's not very concise...

Nah, he definitely dives.

The way I see it is he cheats, but is not very good at it, probably because he has quite slow body movements, and long limbs, where as ace cheats like Hazard, Sanchez et al are already lower to the ground and quite sharp with their movements so they go down quicker, the reaction time to a touch can seem a lot worse for someone like Dele, especially when highlighted in slow motion over and over...

And hanging out your leg is just diving by another name.
