So upsetting to hear. I always had a soft spot for him, so much so that my fantasy football team has been called BringBackBunjevcevic for years.

If I recall correctly, I think he was a Hoddle buy who wanted to use him as a sweeper. He was never really good enough to play for us but he was a steady enough player, just more suited to a slower league. He ended up in the reserves and stayed there for a few years, never complained and helped the kids come through. I remember reading an article re a couple of youth players at Spurs at the time and they were saying how great Bunjy was with them.

Sad news. RIP.

Think that’s a fair summary. Never set the world alight for us, but a modest honest footballer.

Such sad news. When you add to the fact that we signed two CBs in the year of 2001, Bunjy and Dean Richards it just makes it even sadder.

Was a model pro by all accounts, remember Clive Allen and Martin Jol talking highly of the way he handled being left to captain the reserves, but played a huge role the year they won the league particularly with the younger players.
