This is the guy I really want, literally past caring with Barkley. Mahrez is a guaranteed match winner, there's no player in the league like him when he's on form. Go watch how he was in the 15/16 season, shades of Messi and that's not even over exaggerating.

Imagine what he could do in a team like ours on a big Wembley pitch supplying Kane, Eriksen, and Alli. I'd rather shell out £50m on Mahrez, than go for a crocked Barkley for only about £20m cheaper.
Everyone knows that this squad needs a lift from by signing a big player, this is the guy we should be going for.

He's got 3 years left on his contract and Leicester have turned down £35m from Roma already. He's out of our league money wise. He's easily a £50m player and £100k a week wages especially when Oxlaide Chamberlain is going for £40m and £180k a week wages.
Mahrez is the type of player we just don't have he is so skillful can beat a man and can create chances out of nothing. In our team playing with our players he would be sensational

if teams are going to park the bus against us, we need this type of player to create something.

the 2 home games so far have been so frustrating.

Except our attackers have proven results against bus sitters.

Once again I think people show their ignorance towards how deep blocks work.
This. If anything we need a pacy wing forward in attack to counter against teams who press us high and dare us to try and get in behind them. Like Liverpool and City. We struggle against teams most that press us back.

Allegedly chavski and manure are going to "duke it out" over Mahrez.

And Leicester are going to spend aorund £30 million of the Mahrez bounty on his replacement, a certain Andros Townsend.

This is truly the maddest transfer window ever....

When has Mahrez ever produced against teams that sat deep and parked the bus?
Difficult to tell as not many teams park the bus against Leicester. What we do know is that he has vision and trickery and is on occasion able to conjure something from nothing. Eriksen is our creative fulcrum but when he's not available or is being marked out of the game it would be great to have another option in Mahrez IMO.

if the opposition is playing very deep and Eriksen or Mahrez are on the ball, one of their players is going to come out and press the ball carrier, since you don't want players of that quality having time on the ball.

Now that this opposition player has stepped up, it might open space behind him to play a pass, but if it doesn't, what happens next?

Eriksen would probably pass it off, but Mahrez (or another player with pace/trickery) could beat this defending player and get behind him. Now someone else has to step out from the bus to pressure the ball carrier, gaps appear in the bus and Kane/Dele etc can take advantage of these.

Is this idea really that ignorant?

Watch a Liverpool game against a bus parking team.

Pace + trickery = not the answer

By my quick calc it turns out to be less than the revenue loss from dropping out of the top four.
Now add in every other player in the squad because there agent will be knocking on Levys door demanding the same.
Suddenly the wage bill will be getting out of control.
I'd take Mahrez in a heart beat but your looking at 70 mill and wages.
For a guy with his skills I'm wondering why Barca haven't been knocking.
This guy should be in demand by all the top clubs across Europe but isn't and that's a big red flag.
