Arsenal are also interested. I think he'd fit in there more than here. He'd probably get an improvement on his 100k a week salary and be able to amble around in games. A bit like Ozil, can look a world beater one week then very ordinary the next week if he doesn't fancy it.

He doesn't look like the type of player who is going to put a shift in, week in week out. Don't think he'd be right for us despite all of his talent.

If Arsenal want to pay £50 million plus wages for Him then let them. He's not good enough to be their Sanchez replacement, which at that price, he probably will be.

Wenger loves an attacking midfielder doesn't he!

Wenger seems top let Oil get away with it too. Imagine if they bought Mahrez and kept Oil and played them together. It would be terrible.....or great!

Talent wise he's proven he is definitely good enough. Just a matter if he has the right mindset for a team and a manager like ours, and for the kind of money that's gonna cost us to get him, it feels too risky for my liking.

Could be our Hazard? Doubt that. Son is better and had a similar season last year (scoring more goals) than Mahrez's wonder season. Also a very questionable character in adversity as part of that lot.

Different sort of player than Son and arguably what we need....somebody who can unlock a defense with the ball at his feet using control and guile. To the extent that Son helps unlock defenses, it is due to his pace. Son, as we have all seen, has very average ball control skills. I too have concerns about his attitude and whether he would fit well with the team chemistry and Poch philosophy.

Indeed. I can understand the questions about attitude and fitting in ( although Poch's strength is to get players talented players to buy into our way of playing).

Skill set wise though he's more like Lamela than Son. Except he can beat a man and cause havoc in the opponents final third.

Don't see this happening/. Not really a Levy sort of signing. I would rather see (and would expect Levy to prefer) a younger player with that kind of promise like Pulisic from Dortmund.

What is a Levy sort of signing anyway? Soldado, Sissoko, Gallas, Fazio, Saha, Keane ( the second time), Nelsen ...

Not too much initial outlay but maximum value and profit when sold is the answer I believe.
OK, read that sentence, and compare it again to the list I provided. There is no such thing as "a Levy signing" or "Levy time" or "Levy this" and "Levy that". I'm not talking him down, he is a great club president. But to suggest that he has it down what to do with transfers, well he doesn't.

You and I don't know what levy does in his day to day business and as for his role yes he does it professionally and has enics best interests at heart, exactly what you would expect from a CEO of a large business.

You and I are not blind either. You can throw out all the exceptions youd like but compared to most of his peers, he seems to prefer buying assets that are likely to appreciate in value or at least those that that have already depreciated to apoimt that he won't lose a great deal on them. I personally agree with this philosophy but regardless, it is an observable tendency.

Mark Schwarzer was on talk sport the other week and he got on to mahrez. Said he was always getting fined for turning up late for training. Said he would argue the toss at first but then just accepted the fines. There's no doubting his talent but that statement he made the other day about being fiercely ambitious did make smile after listening to what schwarzer had to say on him

Slimani said Mahrez was getting fined for being late to training too.

Two separate people saying he is regularly fined for turning up late - that in itself is can create disharmony- it is selfishness, unwilling to conform or make adjustments that are required! No thanks
