No at this moment he is the most on form player in the league. Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd and us have a number of better players, he like Lukaku and Vardy are just the most on form. Genuine question, does anyone think Mahrrz will turn out these sort of performance for the next 2 years?

That's exactly the same thing!

He'd get in any team right now in the Premiership which suggests that his form is much more than a purple patch.

Leicester concede a lot, we don't and there's a team ethos from defending from the front.
If you think that will be sacrificed for one player having a really good season, then for the money I would rather Sanchez from the Arse.
Yes Mahrez is playing brilliantly for Leicester in a counter attacking side but we don't play that way.
Under Rednapp he would have been ideal but right now I wouldn't want Bale back in this team.
This team reminds me of Athletico Madrid, hard working and playing for the team cause.
Mahrez was dropped earlier in the campaign, the manager saying he needs to work harder.
Like I said brilliantly on form and good luck to Leicester, if we could have any player from Leicester it would be vardy I would take.

There must be some funny autocorrect business going on with your phone. In your post it says you wouldn't take Gareth Bale back. Which of course you didn't mean, because that would be fundamentally insane.

You read it correctly.
It's a team game not a one man show.

You do realise most successful teams have a team ethic and world class players too? Having world class players doesn't mean you have to end up as a circus like Real Madrid. You think the Utd team that won the CL a few years ago wanted Ronaldo to sod off because he was a superstar?

Even Leicester are not just top because they are working their arses off. They have two game changers in Vardy and Mahrez and that, together with their collective spirit is why they are top and why if those two stay fit they will almost certainly finish in the top four.

We have a manager who has instilled a work ethic and togetherness into our club and now we just need to add some more match winners ourselves to really achieve something and challenge for honours. Turning down world class players because they don't "press" is madness and I hope Poch doesn't feel the same.

When mahrez moves it will be a too a bigger fish than us. I think Leicester have a whole band of brothers thing going on right now so I doubt either him or vardy will go before the summer.

Of all the unexpected form players this year (and there have been a lot!), Mahrez is the one that seems to have the highest ceiling, the biggest chance of becoming a world class player at a bigger team. Vardy, Ighalo and even Lukaku are great players, but this feels like the form of their lives, and that (with the possible exception of Lukaku) they will struggle to reach such high form again in the future. Mahrez seems different, like he could just as easily kick on another gear as return to the average. He's got pretty much everything a great player needs, and he seems like he has a good attitude to go with it.

Based on that feeling, I'd love to sign him, but I think it's more likely the biggest fish will come sniffing instead - wouldn't be surprised to see him at PSG next season.

Of course I agree, but Man utd brought through those youngsters and added Ronaldo with others.
But those players had to fit with the club not the other way round, if they didn't they were sold.
I'm all for adding quality players but only the ones the fit with the system.

As if Poch would say no to Gareth Bale :D

Acting as if Bale is incapable of defending or hard work.

Yep, that would be a pretty major flaw for the world's best left back.

Some of us wanted to buy Mahrez and Vardy in the summer but the general opinion was that they weren't good enough :banghead:. I think those birds have flown :(. I'd take Ighalo or Deeney now.

I remember getting several disagrees when I said we should bring in Mahrez.

People were saying they doubted he'd be a good backup even.

Ever considered that perhaps he's told to do / not do certain things by his manager? People have become way too obsessed with 'tracking' and 'pressing'. As if it's the main attribute of a forward player. Leicester defend deep, we defend high. He does what he's told by his manager.

If you really think the guy who's been the best player in the entire league this season wouldn't get into our side, well, er...I don't know what to say really.

By that rationale Messi and Neymar wouldn't get in our side because they don't track back.

Too damn right. We don't need a couple of passengers.

It's a shame when a club shows such massive improvement as Leicester have done that they then could end up losing players such as Mahrez and Vardy as a result.

The old romantic in me would like to see Leicester keep them lol.

A word of caution with Mahrez too, I like him but currently Leicester play a 4-4-2 and wingers don't always necessarily transfer to a 4-2-3-1 formation (and vice versa) quite so easily...

I'll be the outlier and say I don't think we should be in for him unless other suitors back off. Neither Mahrez nor Vardy do enough in other aspects of the game. Great attackers, but Poch seems to favor truly multi-faceted attackers.

WTF are you on about? Vardy is one of the hardest working forwards in the PL.

Vardy yes. He's fully correct on Mahrez though. Fantastic talent, going far higher places than Vardy certainly, but a lot of work to do to make himself suitable to our system.
