If it's true, I don't blame Keane for wanting to go. He's always been open about the fact that he's a huge Liverpool fan and always has been, and who wouldn't want to go and play in the CL for his boyhood club?
The whole '40 games at Spurs, 20 games at Liverpool' thing makes me laugh. First of all, it's bollocks. Do you know just how many times Keane was subbed after an hour of matches last season? He was royally fucked off at how often it happened, despite him often playing 10 times better than Berbatov who would inevitably be left on. Second, if I was playing for Villa 40 times a season, and I heard Spurs were after me but I'd probably play only half as much, I'd cut off my right bollock to go to Spurs. I fucking love Spurs and would give anything to play even 1 minute for the club, so why people assume Keane doesn't have the same level of passion for Liverpool I don't know.
Finally, ironically, if we were to play with Modric, Dos Santos and Bentley (pure speculation obviously) as three attacking midfielders behind a lone striker next season, I think Bent would fill the role perfectly, much better than keane or Berbatov, as he is far more direct than either of them, which is exactly what that position and formation needs from the striker.
