This shouldn't be dismissed completely out of hand. Firstly he supported liverpool as a kid. If you had a chance wouldn't you play for spurs? In addition Champions League football seems to brainwash every top footballer. If Ramos opts for a 4-2-3-1 I can't see a role for Keane and if Liverpool offer 20m (and no crappy cast offs) then the board and Ramos would consider it. If we play one upfront we can also get away with just having a young 3rd choice striker and have Bent as Berbatovs first back up

But on the other hand Keane and Berbatov have scored over 90 goals over the last 2 seasons and believe they are the best strike partnership in England

It would be interesting if Liverpool offer 5m plus Alonso

I can't see it happening. Surely Levy would have learnt after selling Carrick. At the moment the Berbatoc-Keane partnership in the best in the country and I doubt Ramos is stupid enough to break that up.

So let me get this right - some "ITK's" are saying that Ramos doesn't think Keano can step up to the next level. And Liverpool are looking to give us Crouch + cash to get Keano. Now there is no way I can see Ramos thinking that Crouch is at that next level. And can Benitez see something in Keano that Ramos can't???

This is in my humble opinion a steaming pile of bullshit thrown up by a bored journo.

That's just speculation. Is Rafa any more likely to adopt a 4-4-2? On footballing reasons alone it's highly improbable—Marcspurs' post on SO (see Read-Only) sums that up pretty clearly.

And what sort of effect would our selling Keane have on Berbatov?

So The News Of The World run a 'story' that Keane wants Liverpool and they'll offer £20m+ the lanky one and suddenly all of the 'ITK's' are saying that it's all true? Are they stupid? I'm not worried for one second.

Anyway, isn't Celtic Keano's boyhood team?

'Next Level'?

What 'next level' is that then?

If Keane can't make this supposed 'next level', then surely that means we'll be getting rid of 3/4 of our squad. :-|

There is a reeal robbie keane love fest over on that liverpool forum. They are rating him higher then berbatov and villa. I think i read only one negative comment in over 3 pages

I still think Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov are the best strike partnership in the league and can be good enough with suitable supporting acts from the midfield and defense to break into the top 4.

Selling Keane to Liverpool would be much worse then selling Carrick to United as Liverpool are considered more of our rivals. Actually the more I think about it I think I would cry if Keane left.

Losing Berbatov is one thing but losing him and Keane is almost suicidal.

I think if they were offering Crouch plus £20m for Keane there would be a lot of Spurs fans thinking 'yes please' (not me incidentally - to me it's all about what Keane and Ramos wants)

I think it's more likely a cash plus Crouch deal where they value Crouch at about £10m or whatever and we get about £10m or whatever

I think £12m plus Crouch would be a reasonable valuation but as I say far more important is the wish wishes of RK & JR

Apparently not.

It is, along with Liverpool

I hope we dont sell him, unless we do have someone lined up already that will be a big improvment (cant see it though)

I think the partnership of Keane and Berbatov could score even more next season now we have a midfeild that can create some chances for them.

Been talking to a scouse colleague of mine and he couldn't believe it when I told him. Just flatly refused to believe Keane would leave us for Liverpool. He also wanted to know where the money would be coming from as they apparently don't have much to spend this summer.
