Been talking to a scouse colleague of mine and he couldn't believe it when I told him. Just flatly refused to believe Keane would leave us for Liverpool. He also wanted to know where the money would be coming from as they apparently don't have much to spend this summer.

It's the story of Liverpool's summer. No money so very actively and publically try to buy key players from better financed rivals at knock-down prices; first, Barry, now Keane.

Robbie could, like Barry has, make a fuss in the press, but I suspect that, like Villa, we will not be agreeing to optimistically low prices at a time when we are looking to bust them out of the Champions League, and they are looking vulnerable.

I don't mind Peter Crouch, but this, and the Barry saga, remind me of when I used to take over two teams on Championship Manager then make part-exchange Paolo Trammezani for £15 million and Zidane. A bit of wishful thinking in other words.

I don't think the club would sell Keane unless a replacement was already lined up.

Did Fabiano leave Sevilla? Just a thought, can't remember if he moved or not.

If/when it does happen, we should make a push for Alonso. If they want Barry and Keane this summer, they will need to sell Alonso first, as well as get rid of Crouch.

It's amazing just how much so many Spurs fans under value Keano. Despite the chances he creates and goals he scores people still like to criticise him. It seems the latest thing is that he doesn't work hard enough. Yet these people who criticise him tend to be very selective about the strikers they choose to compare him to, usually Rooney, Tevez and Kuyt. None of which really have a better scoring record than Keane. They fail to mention how equally "lazy" the likes Of Adebayor, Drogaba, Martins, Owen, Torres, Agbonlahor, Jonhson, Crouch, Defoe, Viduka, Martins and Yakubu etc are. How mnay times have you seen the mighty Drogba getting stuck in making blocks and tackles etc? Just because commentators go crazy when he defendes a set piece doesn't mean he is working ahrd as the first line of defence, which Keane is bizzarley criticised for. We've been spolied for choice with strikers over recent yeaers and it's lead to some very odd behaviour by some Spurs fans. Mido scored 11 in 27 and made more assisits than ahyone and was roundly slagged of. Defoe had a very good record and was constantly described as nothing more than a shift and shoot striker, Bent is shit depsite his good scoring record and now Keane, who last year scored more goals than any other Prem striker, gets slated for being lazy and for not doing much other than scoring. What a terrible thing for a striker to do!

At least the Liverpool fans seem to appreciate how good he is and how important it is to have a reliable Prem striker in the squad. Maybe it's because unlike us, they haven't been spoiled for choice and have had to put up with Cisse, Crouch, Kuyt, Voranin and Morientes etc. They seem pretty unanimous in their prasie of Keane:

Don't want to see Keane leave, but if he's unsettled, how about telling Liverpool that we want a straight swap Keane for Crouch and Alonso, take it or leave it deal, if they don't agree, tell them no negotiations, tell them to loom elsewhere and stay away from Keane and us. That way we get another striker and a ball playing holding midfielder, or we get the rumours cut off dead.

Keane for Alonso would make much more sense, and would appease the fans alot more i think. Well, it would certainly appease me as i would be royally pissed off if we ended up with Crouch instead of Keane.

Ramos appears to like a team that has the capabilities of playing very quick counter attacking football. The acquisition of Modric, Dos Santos and Hutton illustrate this. Keane for all his ball skill, has little pace and maybe Ramos feels that he does not fit into the system he wants to play next year.

Selling Keane to Liverpool would be much worse then selling Carrick to United as Liverpool are considered more of our rivals. Actually the more I think about it I think I would cry if Keane left.

Judging by his post match celebration, i think Keane would cry if Keane left. So it wouldn't make much sense him crying really.

Perhaps Ramos feels the same about Berbatov.

It certainly wouldn't appease me. Awful, awful deal if that came to pass. Alonso is as slow as Hudd.

Crouch can feck off too.

This is all a load of nonsence made up by the media.:duh:
Surely there is no way Benitez would want Keane when he has Kuyt,Veronin,Babel,Gerrard and Torres.
Robbie Loves Spurs and there is no way the board would accept any bids we recieve for him.
Ramos came out last year and stated thar Keane has been our player of the season,so why would he even consider selling him.
