So he admits that he didn't have much hunger to get better and to train as hard as possible the last few years? I guess Ben was right that he was a lazy bastard that didn't listen to the coaches. No wonder his performances have been way below par for two seasons.

Good luck to him but thank feck he's gone now!

I have nothing against Robinson - all goalies make mistakes and they show up far more than errors made by players in other positions on the pitch. There were times when our defence let him down badly too. I wish him well for the future and hope he can regain some of that lost confidence.

However, putting things into perspective, he is certainly not the best goalie I've ever seen play and if he is considered England's number one, I'm afraid that doesn't reflect too well on the overall standard of English goalies.

He is not the best Spurs goalie I've ever seen - Pat Jennings, Bill Brown and Ted Ditchburn were all far superior. Even John Hollowbread was a better goalkeeper and he hardly got a look in with our first team. These were goalkeepers who were able to hold a ball when necessary, rather than punch it out, often into dangerous territory as seems to be the fashion nowadays. They seemed to be more agile too - that would also include Lev Yashin (imho the best ever), Peter Shilton, Gordon Banks and Ron Springett).

If I compiled a world league table of excellence for goalkeepers I've watched over the years, Robinson wouldn't make my top 50, possibly not even the top 100. That may sound harsh, but I'm telling it as I see it.

I don't want to say "I told you so".....No actually I kinda do!

After all the long arguments with the Robbo brigade on here who wouldn't accept the simple fact that Ramos just didn't fancy him. Well now Robbo has virtually said it himself. Take it like men and admit you were wrong, you know who you are. :hump:

I really hope it works out for Robbo at Blackburn, I'd love to see him back in an England shirt one day and have no doubt he has the quality to be one of the best in the country.

I maintain that I think Ramos should have given him some time as his no.2 keeper to regain his form. I feel once he gets his confidence back he'll come good aain and we'll have lost out.......

....now, that said, I have to say that I am dissapointed in Robbo for not trying harder to fight. He's clearly a bit of a stressball who's completely struggled to get out of the shadow of England and Spurs drops. He just can't handle it when the shit its the fan and the pressure's on, which is a shame because he has real talent.

How stupid, so Ramos tells him that he will be spending the season on the bench and instead of moving to another club so that he can actually play and try and get back into the england team he decides to spend the season on the bench because the support is so nice.

You've clearly taken what I said out of context. ****.

It would have been a very easy choice for him to leave for first team football, that I obviously understand, but it should have still been difficult for him to leave his beloved support at White Hart Lane, and I'm shocked that he hasn't even mentioned that yet.
