It is Spanish! I do speak Spanish and Swedish.
It says Spurs have signed ("se fija" from fijar which means to fix but can also mean to sign) Lewandowski. Not really believng this rumour though....

We share some languages then mate! In this case though it is the reflexive verb fijarse en that is used and it would translate to pay attention to or better here focus on. Over and out from Colombia.

Well hopefully since its the Mail that story is made up, but if they really want more than 25m we ought to be looking elsewhere. Especially since he only has two years left on his contract... maybe Levy can snag him next year for a more reasonable price.

Yeah, 35m is just bullshit to keep him at the club for at least another year. Fair enough.

I don't know - frankly, unless FFP does have an impact, this is the market now. Whether by design or accident, chelsea and citeh - along with the two Spanish giants and maybe Yanited without the crippling debt they need to service are the only clubs who can come close to paying these fees regularly and the wages even more so.

They've cornered the market and seemingly any decent player within a sniff of these teams expect a certain level of finances to be involved. chelsea have kicked it up to the highest gear yet this summer. Commiting to way way beyond the £60m winfall they've recieved from winning the CL. They've never been higher spenders than they are right now. Everyone expected them to slow down.

I don't disgaree that this is a move to keep him at Dortmund for another season but I wouldn't expect him to go for much less than that price next summer and wages far north of £100K if he has anything over an average season again. So we already know the 5 clubs he'll end up at. The only little bit of intrigue is which one of the 5 get him.
